Seven Incredibly Simple Reasons An Effective Email Marketing Strategy Makes Sense!

(Especially If Your Business And or Service Is Currently On An extremely Tight Budget!)

Okay, let’s be extremely honest here, shall we?

There are most definitely some times, when your cash flow gets extremely tight, correct?

And like it or not, you have got to make some incredibly difficult decisions, with regards to, should you invest your extremely limited capital in this or that?

And these rather tough decisions, also involve, whether or not, your semi cash strapped small business and or service, should be utilizing, some type of strategic email marketing campaigns or not. Agreed?

Who among us, hasn’t been there, at least a few times?Right?

And if you haven’t, rest assured entrepreneur, because you most certainly will. Hey, it’s just the nature of the beast.

Just so we’re on the (exact) same page here, we’re not talking about lowering any particular costs, by sacrificing , (even) an ounce of overall quality!

In fact, it’s quite the opposite. In terms of strategically lowering your cost, yet maintaining your overall effectiveness.

For that, and at least seven other potentially profitable reasons, you’re about to discover, (entrepreneur), it’s highly advised, you definitely consider, making long term, strategic email mail marketing, a part of your overall marketing game plan.

Let’s take a look at a bare bones minimum, of seven potentially profitable reasons why you definitely should.

So Who Else Wants To Discover At Least Seven Potentially Profitable Reasons Why Strategic Email Marketing Definitely Makes Sense!

(Especially If Your Small Business And Or Service Experiences Temporary Cash Flow Issues Every Now And Again!)

First of all, (entrepreneur) have you really bothered, to calculate, “what” it actually cost your (semi) cash strapped small business, and or service, to acquire, (that all important), first time customer, client, and or patient etc.

You really should (do) and know the math, for several reasons.

Primarily because, going forward, you’ll have a much better, and far more accurate idea, of “what” you can and should, realistically spend, on virtually any type of future, advertising, marketing and or promotional campaign, in order to acquire additional customers and or clients etc.

So in other words, simply by tracking and discovering, what you ideal customer/client and or patients, total “lifetime customer value” is, (generally speaking),you’ll know “how” much you can safely afford to invest, in order to acquire more of them.

And the flip side is, now as you cautiously weigh your marketing options, you can and should, let strategic email marketing, become one of your primary marketing tools. Here are at least, seven bare bones minimum reasons why!

If Long Term Strategic Email Marketing Is Good Enough For Major Fortune 500 Corporations!(Entrepreneur Why In The World Isn’t It Good Enough For You?)

1.) Reason # one: First and foremost, once you’ve got an opt in email/mobile subscriber, entrepreneur, in terms of your retail store, and or your (constantly growing)Tax return preparation service.

You can (and definitely) should, periodically email them, at least some of your best market tested, “extremely time sensitive”, discount coupon savings offers. And or “announcements” etc.

Because, if only a small percentage of your subscribers, are actually opening, reading and clicking on your affiliate, and or sales links etc.

Then why continually waste all that time and effort,(not to mention) money, sending direct snail mail, letters and or post cards etc.Several times per month, quarter or year.

If only a handful of your audience is actually bothering to read and act on them! And the flip side is, maybe instead of using, strategic opt in email follow up messages, you instead send periodic mobile text messages to your subscribers!

(Important note: Study after study, has revealed, your average text message is typically opened within three -short- minutes of being received! Or less!)

Your Strategic Email Marketing Campaigns Don’t Just Lower Your Upfront Out Of Pocket Cost!

2.) Reason # two: You can, and (definitely) should send your subscribers, unscheduled broadcast emails, (maybe to) announce, this Friday & Saturday only!

You’re furniture store, and or appliance center, is having a “closed to the general public,” “Everything must go!” sales event!

And the only way anyone can attend, and or take advantage of these “blowout liquidation sales” prices, is by (either) printing your coupon out, and or copying the special ID code number, and telling your cashiers at checkout!

And since your (spur of the moment) “broadcast email” message, is not a part of your regular pre-written, sequential follow up email messages, you just type it and send it, either to a specific segment of your list, and or your entire subscriber base! Provided of course, you’re currently using a reputable, paid email service provider!

3.) Reason # three: This next potential marketing benefit is potentially huge! Ladies & gentlemen, during the course of your busy week, (how) often, do you, and or one of your paid employee/associates, actually have time, to reach out by phone, to at least some, if not all of your current customers, clients, and or patients etc?

Huh? Exactly! Especially if you have, say a growing CPA  or law practice, how on earth, could you, (and or) one of your associates, possibly reach out to your current, existing customer/client base of 2,257 people local people! No way!

And even if you could, “how” much real quality time, could you actually spend with each individual, during the course of both your and their day?(Think about it for a second!)

Because, they’re probably hard at work, trying to pay their bills too, correct? And you’re (steadily) trying to (both) service your existing customers/clients, plus constantly generate new ones!Right?

And truth told! Entrepreneur, unless they specifically requested you to do so!Do you really think, your customers actually want to hear from you by phone, at least once a week? Probably not!

The Right Small Business Marketing Strategies Can And Definitely Will Mean All The Difference!

However, your constantly growing CPA customer/ client base, might be absolutely “thrilled” to receive a -proven- “tax saving tip” of the week from you! And that’s why they originally opted in, to receive your free 52 week, “DIY” (Do It Yourself) “Tax Savings” tip of the week course!

And now, through the power of (good ole)strategic email marketing, your pre written 52 week course, (tip of the week) tax savings guide, get’s delivered directly to their inbox!

Whether, you’re actually in the office or not! Or whether, it’s actually tax season or not! In other words, you, (and or) your major competitors, get to stay in touch with your current customers/clients, for literally pennies on the dollar!

Who Says Strategic Email Marketing Campaigns Are A Waste Of Your Time Or Money?

And they always have the option, to unsubscribe, any time they wish!Entrepreneur, how cool is that?

Ladies & gentlemen, in the interest of both time and space. You will discover, the four remaining, potentially profitable, long term benefits, of strategically using email marketing  strategies in part two. Okay?

But for now, are you starting to have (a much better) appreciation, of “how” and “why”, long term strategic email marketing, definitely makes economic sense!

And why, it definitely should be an integral part, of your long term marketing plans!Say yes! Great!See you in just a little bit, in part two!Now as is customary during this part of our show.

  1. I’ve been working on my email marketing for a couple of months now. I really struggled with it for awhile because I’ve had so many unpleasant experiences on as a subscriber to lists that I projected my own disgruntled feelings on how I managed my own list. So I didn’t communicate often enough and when I did I felt like I needed to apologize for bothering them! Crazy I know, but at least I finally recognized and have gotten much better. Still, I am sensitive to how often I email my followers so unless I have an announcement of some kind I email them every Monday with their newsletter so they know they can count on that. The last time I checked the open rate was 47% and I don’t know if that’s good or bad compared to others, but it has steadily increased over the past few months so I’ll take that as a good sign. Thanks for the ideas and motivation Mark!

    • You know you’re always welcome M!

And a 47% open rate is freaking awesome!LOL! Are you kidding!Whatever
you’re currently doing, keep doing it!

It just proves, what I already knew, your list really respects and definitely
looks forward to hearing from you!

BTW, just so you know, since you are so darn consistent and send your
newsletter on a certain day every week.

Depending on which paid email service provider you’re currently
using, don’t forget to re-send to your non opens, because often times, some
of your subscribers just get busy and forget!

But when you re-email (only) your un-opens, you may find, a few percentage more will
      open that send mailing.

Especially if you vary your benefit orientated subject line.

Thanks for sharing some incredibly important feedback M!

      I definitely appreciate it!

  3. Hi Mark

That’s good point you make – so many “experts” say that email marketing is dead, YET I still receive regular emails from some very large and reputable companies in the “real world”, as opposed to in the Internet Marketing business.

These companies must be spending a small fortune on their marketing campaigns, so hopefully they’ve done the sums, tracked the resulting sales (where possible) and made sure they’re profitable.

I’m afraid I have to disagree with you about text advertising campaigns. I’m sure the texts are opened as quickly as you suggest, but – if the recipients are anything like me – they’ll be angry or disappointed to have had their current activity interrupted by an advert. Perhaps I’m just old-fashioned, but to me a mobile (unless I’m actively searching for information) is for communications from family and friends – not marketing texts.

But then I’ve just been out and bought myself a device to block marketing phone calls too.

Email is different – I go to my inbox when I’m ready to look at it, and I have the emails I want to receive filtered nicely so that I can ignore the spam that still gets through.

But text adverts – no thanks 🙂 Perhaps it’s my age – that’s probably a very important consideration when deciding whether to send text adverts.

We’re all different and “one man’s meat is another man’s poison”, so it’s interesting to discuss.
But I’m definitely in the “email marketing is better” camp.

  4. Hi Mark,

Great to hear from you again. Good post and great suggestions. I admit I falter when it comes to email marketing and keeping up. I absolutely need to work on that for the benefit of my readers and myself.

Thanks for the tips and ideas.

  5. Email Marketing is really essential for any kind of business. But there should be a strategical way to do that in order to make a most from it. If the process was done blindly then it is hard to reap benefits out of it
