What You Need To Initially Start Are Some Reliable Client Retention Techniques!
Case in point. Let’s say your single location, retail appliance center decides to do an all out blowout sales extravaganza. (You know the type of positive, viral word of mouth and mouse campaigns I’m referring to, right?) Good answer. And let’s say your current opt in email subscriber base is 4,721. And your typical open rate(s) consistently hover around 38%.
(Your numbers are pretty darn good BTW.)
This means typically 1,793 subscribers will at least open your initial previously unscheduled “broadcast” email message. (4,721 x .38% = 1,793.)
And your follow up “broadcast” email message (s) usually gets an additional 13% of the remaining 2,928 subscribers who didn’t open your initial broadcast email. So another 380 subscribers at least open your follow up broadcast email message. (2,928 x .13% = 380.)
Bringing the grand total to 2,173 opens. (1,793 + 380 = a grand total of 2,173 opens.) But since you’re a pretty savvy marketer. Here’s what you inexpensively A/B split test. (Which a staggering 90-97% of your major competitors aren’t consistently doing.)
Don’t Be fooled Because Opt In Email Is Still The Workhorse Of Your Long Term Online Marketing Success!
Let’s say your store usually opens at 10 am. However for your incredibly popular blowout sales events. You open at 8 am. But you mention in the P.S. of all of your pre -sales events “broadcast” email messages.
The 1st 200 or X number of customers who drag a friend with them under “The Buddy Plan.” They get to reach in your grab bag for some additional word of mouth and mouse generating goodies.
(Again this particular bonus only applies to the 1st X amount of customers through the door. Who drug a friend with them whose at 18.)
Once You Start Systematically Generating Potentially Profitable Word Of Mouth And Mouse Buzz! (Watch Your Long Term gross Profits Gradually Skyrocket!)
Here are three key things you or your major competitors want to closely monitor for.
A.) First: Since your key store managers and certain key staff will arrive about 5 am in order to make sure everything is as properly prepared as it possibly can be. (Good luck with that.)
But “what” they’re also closely monitoring is ‘how many”, if any extremely loyal customers show up as early at least 5 am. Or are already parked, (more like camped out!) in the parking lot as you and everyone else starts to arrive.
Let’s say there are at least 15 zealots, (aka) potential goodwill ambassadors already camped out when you get there. (Nice!) What you or one of your main managers does next. Will literally potentially pay dividends for years and years to come!
1. A.) First your staff approaches and “thanks” them for their patronage. Then you offer each of them VIP laminated “Lifetime Discount” cards. Say what? Where from now on. They can save 25 or X% off any purchases under $200 dollars. (And if the item(s) happen to be on sale.
As long as they remain an active opt in email subscribers. They automatically save an additional 5% off the sales price.)
But they automatically save 40% off any purchases over $200 dollars up to $1,000 dollars. Huh? But it automatically bumps to $1,500 or X number of dollars each time they drag a friend with them whose at least 18.
Why Start Strategically Leveraging Your Most Loyal Customers Positive Word Of Mouth And Mouse Activities!
1.B.) Next; You find out “who” if any of them are gourmet coffee or great tasting exotic beverage drinkers. And you or your major competitors provide them with free Xtra large “Big Gulp” plastic cups. So they can go next door from now on. And instead of paying the typical $5.79 per cup for an Xtra large beverage any kind.
Now they only pay $.99- $1.59 per cup. Huh? You think they won’t be constantly bragging to whomever will listen. Both on and off of social media? (You so got that right.)
B.) Second: Next. Depending on ‘how” many ladies are also camped out. You will also arrange to have a really nice bouquet of flowers on hand. Which you will buy the day before your event at the local, non franchised florist-s actual cost.
If there’s only one lady at least 18 in the camp. You or your staff will give it to her. However, as word starts to spread. As you know it most definitely will. Going forward. You’ll simply have each lady name a number from one to one thousand. And the closet one wins the flowers.
However, not to let a potentially profitable marketing opportunity go to waste all the runner up ladies automatically get a really cool secondary prize valued at X. Huh?
They automatically win an extremely time sensitive gift certificate of $25 dollars to a popular local supermarket chain.
Are You Starting To Appreciate How You Or Your Major Competitors Are Going To Start Strategically Dominating Your Local Market? (For Literally Pennies On The Dollar!)
C.) Third: You will let every body there early reach into your grab bag. And at least one person will win an extremely time sensitive 60 or X% off any purchase up to $750 dollars gift certificate.
And at least one person will win a free large cheese pizza, plus 25 buffalo wings and two large liter sodas of their choice. Delivered to either their home of place of business or their job.
And every body else will win some extremely time sensitive $7 dollars off a large pizza order only. From a local, non franchised pizzeria you have this ongoing JV (Joint Venture) arrangement with. You’ll gladly pay the pizzeria owner(s) $7 or X amount of dollars per gift certificate you pass out.
Because that more than covers the cost of the pizza. And at least pays for a few of the wings. And the pizzeria is banking on the long term back end, repeat business.
Some definitely will be one and done. But a certain percentage of them will become extremely loyal, long term repeat customers. Which the pizzeria owners acquired for literally pennies on the dollar, right?
And your non franchised retail appliance center. Just “discovered” how utilizing this particular, market tested brand positioning strategy, will help your long term gross front and back end profits soar. Would you not agree?
