(Over And Over Again!)
So when it comes to consistently making a potential profit repelling. Major marketing mistake like the one I’m about to describe. Over and over again.
Fellow profit seeking entrepreneurs. I sincerely hope this is not one of them! Because both the short and long term, negative affects. Can or quickly become or cause a major gap in your current and future income generating possibilities.
And you definitely don’t want that. right?
So Let’s Talk About A Major Marketing Lesson! (You Can And Definitely Should Learn About Having To Temporarily Sleep On Your Ex In Laws Couch!)
(Definitely not your preferred or ideal temporary sleeping arrangements BTW! Just saying! 😎 So let’s carefully set the table. Again as always ladies & gentlemen.
The following hypothetical marketing examples. Are being used for truth delivering illustration purposes only. (Even though. The brutal truth be told here!)
The following rea life situation(s.) Unfortunately, actually happened to me. So way back when. Before I was anywhere near wise enough! To appreciate ‘why” I/you/we definitely need our very own. Self hosted blog of some kind.
Obviously I’m currently using WordPress.
Anyway, I was busy constantly posting articles. On the HubPages.com platform. (I realize some of you younger visitors. Just asked “what’s” HubPages, right? 😎
Anyway, one of my expert online marketing coaches at the time. Kept repeatedly trying to “warn” and caution me against. Being totally 100% reliant on social media platforms.
To build and nurture my online presence! And of course. Being the total ego maniac I was at the time! 😀 I totally ignored and completed dismissed her extremely wise advice. That is until?…..
Hopefully You And Or Your Extremely Valuable Client Base! (Aren’t Making This All Too Common Marketing Mistake!)
So anyway, after successfully publishing 125 HubPage articles. I wake up one morning. To find my account had been “banned.” Say what? Apparently hub article 126 triggered something not so good. 😀
And just like that ladies & gentlemen. I experienced an all too real, and common reality check on social media. 😀 At the time. I had no self hosted WordPress blog to immediately fall back on!
Nor did I have my own opt in email subscriber base. As they say. I was temporarily up something/s_ _ _ creek! With no proverbial paddle. Anywhere in sigh! 😀
But extremely hard lesson learned! I immediately started learning “how to” build and grow my very own, self hosted WordPress blog! And building and nurturing my own opt in email subscriber base. And thank goodness I did.
If You’re Relying 100% Or Building Via Social Media Platforms 100%! (You’re Building Your Foundation On Quick Sad!)
And it’s only a matter of time. Before your house of cards is finally exposed. As was my case. My account getting temporarily shutdown. Was the “Wake up call!” I truly needed.
I like to refer to 100% relying on social media to try and build and scale your business or service. Is like sleeping/crashing on your ex- in laws couch. 😀
You never really know when they’ll come home and say. “You gotta go!” If and when this ever happens to you! Unlike all those currently marketing online. Who still don’t have their own self hosted blog. (WordPress or otherwise.)
You won’t be caught totally off guard. And unprepared. Like a gazillion others. Who’ve constantly been told. They/you don’t need your own website and or self hosted blog.
And strategic opt in email list building. Is so supposedly dead! (I beg to differ!) Ask anyone whose social media accounts have been temporarily. Or worst yet. Permanently shutdown.
Ask them if they wish they had their own self hosted blog or opt in email subscriber base. To immediately fall back on.
There’s Definitely A Major Difference Between Being The Landlord Or The Tenants!
By cyber landlord. Obviously I’m referring to you and I having your own self hosted blog. Or your own website.
Or having your own opt in email subscriber base. And being the glorified tenants. Is relying 100% on any social media platforms. To try and grow/scale your business or service.
Imagine steadily building on any one particular social media platform. Only to wake and discover your account has been banned. Without any previous notice.
It constantly happens all the time ladies & gentlemen. For your sake. I sincerely hope this major marketing mistake. Doesn’t negatively affect you.
Don’t Just Read Or Consume Others Self Hosted Blog Content! (Start Creating Your Own Too!)
