Lots of profit seeking small business owners, service providers and or start up entrepreneurs, try and successfully advertise their way to ultimate success, right?
And perhaps this constantly growing list, includes your business/service as well, correct?
Hopefully, if it does, your results are far better, than what the all too typical, semi to severely cash strapped, small business owner/service provider experiences.
The main point (here) being, you don’t have to be a genius, nor do you have to be well established in your business, (on or offline), in order to throw as much money as your particular budget can afford, at potentially wasteful, and or dismally performing, traditional advertising campaigns.
Sound familiar? Well, what about the other end of the business spectrum? How many times, (currently) and or in your recent past, have you heard bout an entrepreneurial venture (of some kind), using local charities, to successfully fuel their long term success? Is this potential marketing approach not interesting?
Who Says A Little Strategic Charity Can’t Help Your Resourced Challenged Small Business And Or Service Grow?
First of all, let’s be crystal clear, right out of the gate. Hopefully, any and all, charitable donations, of both your/our time and or money, is done, because of our sincere beliefs in the charitable organizations, overall mission and purpose.
However, this being said. There is absolutely no valid reason, and or written law, which says, your/our -heartfelt- time and or money donations, can’t help you/us,(in some truly meaningful way), continually grow our businesses and or services, correct?
Absolutely. Since the proper ground work and foundation has finally been laid, let’s quickly consider, how a little strategic charity, (on your part),can and most definitely will, help catapult you and or your major competitors, into a whole new level of ongoing success.
Extremely Savvy Entrepreneurs Are Able To Leverage Various Types Of Ongoing Marketing Opportunities Into Some Bankable Results!(And You Should Too!)
So let’s (finally) set the proverbial stage, shall we? Actually, there are at least two, initial ways, for a profit seeking vendor, (such as yourself), to potentially go about profiting, from some type of meaningful charitable donations, of your extremely limited time or money.(Or both.)
So (let’s say) you currently run a fairly successful, local women-s boutique shop, and you strategically target, local women, who currently earn, high five and six figure a year incomes. And your-ever growing- ideal female customer base, has a total lifetime customer value metric, of $,8,000 -$12,000 dollars.Over a five to seven year time frame.
And since your business, isn’t exactly a local household name just yet, (), you may not currently have, the right insider connections, with the various charitable organizations, which are most likely to yield the best long term, bankable results.
In which case, you -and or- your key staff members, can start systematically reaching out, to various, local charities, who already have some extremely well established, local donor lists, as well as, they already have some pretty deep roots, with other local vendors as well.
Really Effective Lead Generation Strategies Can Be Adapted To Practically Any Reasonable Marketing Situation!
So here’s your initial plan (A.) marketing strategy, to help a local charity or two, as well as, systematically, rapidly grow your targeted opt in email/mobile marketing list, and build an extremely valuable long term, follow up sales funnel in this process.
You’ll gladly allow the charity, to offer a one time payment, ‘raffle’ style event, at one of their most popular, annual live events, where you provide one of your most popular $950 dollar designer hand bags.
And the local ladies in attendance at one of the charities most popular -fund raising- events, are allowed to spend just $400 dollars, for the privilege of purchasing it.
(Important note: Which is a 58% savings off the normal retail price! $950/$400 = 42%cost or 58% savings!)
However, as long they join your/the boutique store owner(s), opt in email/mobile marketing list, any time,at least twenty minutes before the actual ‘raffle’ event takes place, their still eligible.
Your Well Honed Entrepreneurial Skills Are An Extremely Valuable Asset To Posses!
And their financial reward,(ethical bribe) for joining the boutique store owners list, they get to enter the raffle, for a one time ‘raffle’ payment of just $150 dollars. Which means, simply for becoming a VIP subscriber, they can potentially save an additional 62.50%! ($150/$400 = 37.50% -100% = 62.50%)
Now let’s quickly use some hypothetical numbers, strictly to mathematically convey, the overall concepts.Let’s suppose, at least 100 highly influential, local women, regularly attend, this one specific, annual charitable event.
And at least 70% (or seventy of them), decide to enter the raffle, and take their chances!
Your Small Business Definitely Has The Ability To Become A Major Player!
At least sixty of them, decide to go the economical route, and join your opt in email list, and therefore their one time raffle payment only cost them a mere $150 dollars for their chance, to win an extremely eye catching -designer handbag, which normally retails for at least $950 dollars!
And (for whatever reasons!), the remaining ten entrants, simply didn’t bother to join your list, and instead, they invested the full $400 dollars. Here’s the final numbers, 60 donations, via the raffle @ $150 dollars each.
This totals a col $9,000 dollars! And the remaining ten donors, each contribute$400 dollars each, for an additional $4,000 dollars, for a grand total of $13,000 dollars!
Let Your Entrepreneurial Skills And Instincts Lead Your Business Forward!
After deducting your true hard cost, for the designer handbag, and agreeing to donate at least twenty five -fifty percent to the charity. You probably still did okay? Right?
Now let’s cover potential marketing strategy plan (B.) in part two, okay? For now, are you starting to appreciate, how some extremely savvy small business owners, and or entrepreneurs, strategically use a little bit of charity, in order to prosper, and how you can too? Great. See you in just a little bit in part two.

Timely topic for me Mark. I’m doing a lot of behind the scenes work leading up to a big push this fall and one of the issues I’ve been struggling with is whether or not to link my work to a particular cause. As you know, there is no shortage of worthy organizations, it’s just a matter of deciding whether to pick one and stick with it or to just focus on doing a periodic event. The latter, of course, would be like hanging a neon sign out inviting people to contact me about supporting them. I’ve been through that before, and it ain’t fun. You’ve definitely given me a lot to think about, thanks my friend!
