(Doesn’t Mean They’re Not Extremely Valuable To You Or Your Major Competitors Bottom Line!)
When you hear the term centers of influence what comes to mind? How do you define the term? And does it include celebrities, superstar sports figures and the like?
The really good news is it absolutely doesn’t require you and I to be or become celebrity like. Instead you/we can plug into a potentially profitable group of individuals.
Who for the most part are not famous nor highly influential. Yet they still have enough local clout in their local offline community. So when they recommend or refer you or your major competitors awesome products or services.
Rest assured their tribe will respond positively. Which is definitely a good thing. Would you not agree?
Do This If You’re Really Serious About Building Brand Awareness!
Strictly for hypothetical marketing illustration purposes only. Recently an women’s organization I’m familiar with hosted a one day event.
And they ordered 50 packaged sandwiches from a local vendor for who attended. The packages included non brand named potato chips. A large cookie and of course either mini ham or turkey subs.
They came enclosed in their own little. Here’s the most obvious two things which were clearly missing. (Think about “how” many times per day, week or month this particular marketing/promotional opportunity is missed out on.
1.) First: There was no extremely time sensitive “bounce back” offer included inside each box. 😀 Because each individual consumer could be ethically bribed to come back and place an order in a timely manner.
Let’s say only 15 or X% of them placed an order. Which means out of 50 recipients an additional 7.5 or seven people as a practical matter. (50 x .15% = 7.5 )
But remember those seven or X number of local people know at least 25 other locals, correct? Which means they might be compelled to do some proactive word of mouth and mouse promoting, right? 😀

2.) Second: There was no market tested, extremely time sensitive offer from a local, non directly competing vendor.
For example. A local non franchised vendor of some kind. Say a local, non franchised retail appliance store owner also includes one of their best opt in email free drawing offers.
Maybe included is their chance to win a state of the art 75 or X inch flat screen TV. And side “B” of the index card ethically bribes the recipient to drag a friend whose at least 18 with them to your store.
Rest assured a certain amount of those local recipients will enter the free drawing. Which means at least some of them will join the retailers opt in email list.
And ethically bribing them to drag a friend with them whose at least 18. Before the ten or X day hand written expiration date expires completely worthless.
A certain percentage will gladly drag a friend and be ethically bribed for doing so. 😀 They could save 10 or X off for coming alone. But save up to 40 or X% off simply for dragging a friend whose at least 18.

The extremely marketing savvy retailer(s) could also leverage the organization who originally placed the longer than average order, correct?
Find out “how” many or when’s the organizations next scheduled meeting. And offer them additional savings or other advantageous incentives for placing their next order with them. As opposed to their other local competitors.
Plus offer the organization, (as well as) other local organizations members. Extremely time sensitive discount incentives for joining their opt in email list. And periodically ethically bribe them for dragging other locals who are at least 18.
And maybe find out “how” many organization run their own business or service. And repeat the same or similar process with them. Entrepreneur are you starting to appreciate hoe to strategically leverage non traditional centers of influence? Say yes! 😀
