(Or Else The Likelihood Of Failure Is Extremely High!)
So would you not agree that once you put on the proverbial “hat” called entrepreneur, from that put on you have a never ending job of meeting and hopefully overcoming, challenge after daily challenge, right? For sure. Case in point: recently I logged into my back office of my WordPress site as I do every single day, only this particular time, it was to finish editing an ongoing post that I’ve actually had in the works for quite a while.
So there I am about to embed a video into my post (when) all of a sudden without warning (mind you), the editor in my dashboard (for whatever) reasons simply doesn’t work! Say what? Yep! And then, as if that wasn’t enough, I noticed I also can’t respond to any comments that are being left by my visitors!
Oh boy here we go! Oh, let me tell, that certainly made for a rip roaring afternoon let me tell you! But (fast forward), I contacted my tech guru got to person asap, in an all panic let me tell you!
And after a little investigative snooping around she (thank goodness) quickly and accurately assessed the problem, and told me she’d be able to clear up the mess relatively easily!
What a relief! So kudos to you big time Dotty Scott! And “thank goodness” you decided to develop the expert wonder skills to trouble shoot the likes of good old WordPress!
My main point for sharing that particular situation is, it’s just a typical day and or week in the life of an entrepreneur! Would you not agree?Meaning; there’s always a fire (somewhere) to be put out! And the remainder of this post is dedicated to the three extremely critical mind shifts that are definitely needed, in order for anyone to successfully become a successful entrepreneur.
Especially if you’re attempting to make that huge leap from employee to entrepreneur! For the very first time.
So What Exactly Are These Extremely Critical Mind Shifts That Every Successful Entrepreneur Eventually Has To Make?
No one (playing with a full deck) disagrees that becoming an successful entrepreneur to any degree, definitely requires an ongoing shift in the way you process your thoughts correct? For one thing, where most employee minded individuals see little or no way for something to get done! Visionary entrepreneurs (such as yourself) see “how” every potential obstacle, is in reality nothing more that a bridge and or stepping stone to the very next level!
Where as the employee tends to curse the inconvenience of the rain! The entrepreneur sees it as the fertilizer to help stimulate some much needed growth don’t you know!
And that brings us to these three (bare bones minimum), yet extremely critical mind shifts, that every successful entrepreneur eventually has to make! Or else you dramatically increase your chances of not succeeding!
1.) Extremely critical mind shift # one: You know (entrepreneur) they say the shortest distance between two points, is a straight line for a reason! Meaning: rather than you continually spinning your wheels, desperately trying to re-invent the wheel!
Why not get yourself a qualified” been there and done that” Coach/Mentor and simply follow their proven advice as best you can! In other words, your first extremely crucial mind shift that you definitely need to make is!
Don’t Be afraid To Invest In Your Future And Beyond!
There is simply no way (especially) when you’re first starting out, that you can have all and or even most of the correct answers! So leverage the real world knowledge and experiences of more qualified coaches and mentors etc!
2.) Extremely critical mind shift # two: Entrepreneur, like it or not! One of the main keys to your long term success is; you gotta get good (really fast) at power networking, both in and outside of your niche! Because the already successful major influence rs within your niche can and will open doors, you don’t even currently know exist!
And they can and will personally introduce you to the other power movers and shakers (both) in and outside of your niche! And basically shave your (otherwise) extremely long and tedious learning curves by leaps and bounds! Don’t you agree?
Hey I know! It’s far easier said than done! Tell me about it! But it doesn’t change the fact! So earnestly start with the easier low hanging fruit ones, and go from there!
Like it or not, as your entrepreneurial journey progresses, and you get closer and closer to that person you are so destined to be! Sooner or later, every successful entrepreneur (such as yourself) will eventually have to make these three bare bones minimum (extremely) critical mind shifts, if they ever fully expect to make a real go of it! Don’t you agree?

Hey Mark,
This topic will always be relevant no matter what industry you’re in or time!
You definitely want to have the mindset that’s going to help propel you with your business. Although I was taught this in years past, it took me a couple of years to really get this! But as you know, I had to go through the trials and tribulations in order for the lightbulb to come on.
#3 was that vital focal point. I had to get rid of those bad habits because they were the obstacles that was holding me back. For some reason I couldn’t get past a certain point. But a shift in mindset trickled down to a shift or routine and focus, which eventually got me over the hump.
#2 is also important. Me being the introvert I am, this wasn’t an easy tasks at first until I figure out what would resonate with me and how it would be easier to be consistent with a particular routine I used, which is basically commenting. This also ties into #1 of finding a coach/mentor because i learned so much from the blogs I go to and the information I got from them helped me to propel my business and blog even further!
Thanks for sharing Mark! I hope you have a great week ahead!

Mark,
Great article. I have worked with mentors and coaches and each one did teach me valuable information, tips, tricks, suggestions. But the bottom line, I have discovered, is that it takes a certain amount of time and it requires a lot of work to succeed.
I have also learned the power of networking, but I often felt as if others were just selling at me and not really connecting. My mind has shifted to thinking “What can i offer them, do for them and how can we benefit each other?” Now I don’t feel so put upon when people try to sell me something. I listen and I am very clear about what I want and need and what does not interest me. But I can still be helpful in some way, if possible. And then there are those magical moments when I do connect with movers and shakers and influencers, as I have to be a featured speaker on 4 different Love Summits. I am interviewing each of the coordinators on my radio show and writing articles about their events. All promotes good will and teaches me more about power networking.
And finally, letting go of those negative thoughts, insecurities, doubts, comparisons to others. That is all a work in progress.
Warmly,
Dr. Erica

Mark, you are so right with all three!
We find ourselves lost sometimes with making to much up. Just to say we created some other method. Just to get the same results as if we would follow the original steps. That doesn’t make sense to me and never will. Yet, so many of us continue to waste time and get frustrated by having that bad habit.
Lastly, the burnout. If we do not take a “Me” time during each working day. We are just following the same mentality as when we had no clue. To stop making someone else dream manifest. Working like we are under the will of our boss? Big mistake and has everyone wondering why they cannot move forward with anything. To busy being busy without progress other than. Deeper in chaos.
Thanks Mark for getting us up and started in the right mindset. Good to feel this site back up!

Comment *Hi, Mark,
What a great article, I really appreciate you sharing because it’s so relevant. I couldn’t agree more. There are always fires to put out, either we’re coming out of one or going into one… LOL
I’m glad you have a talented person that you can turn to when things crop up. Saves you a lot of headaches that’s for sure.
I spent a little time on the hamster wheel, going round and round not really getting anywhere, till I had a mindset change for success. You are very correct in putting a lot of emphasis on mind shift because that’s where it all begins, I agree with you on that.
You were spot on with your points, and they are valuable. We tell ourselves stories and engage in self-sabotage so often that it’s alarming. I am so glad you’re sharing this because a lot of people are going to benefit. A few years back I started putting emphasis on success mindset, and highly recommend this and your suggestions which are helpful. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
I hope you have a lovely weekend, where you can rest, relax and enjoy yourself.

You are so right Carol!(With regards to, the never ending cycle of constantly putting out fires!LOL)
And I couldn’t agree more with your assessment about, as soon as you put one major
burning inferno of some kind out, you almost immediately hear the fire alarm going off again!LOL!
And that situation I shared, has happened enough, that I finally wised up (a while back) and aggressively went searching
for a dependable source or two, that I could turn to in times of panic mode!LOL!
Whenever some techie malfunction situation took centered stage!
You know, I love what you shared about actively developing the proper mindset as well!
In fact, one of my Coaches & Mentors, likes to say, stop telling me what you think you know,
if what you think you know doesn’t match the tangible results you seek!LOL!
I love that and couldn’t agree more, as I’ve truly begun to give a brutally honest internal audit and
self assessment of where I’m clearly and consistently going off the rails!LOL!
So coming from a respected and experienced pro such as yourself, (whom most definitely is in the trenches daily),
I definitely take your compliments as positive confirmation of definitely being on the right track!
Thanks! Your real world comments, insights and experiences are always welcome and very much appreciated!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

You are just too awesome Dr.Erica!

with your results!
networking, which as far as I’n concerned, is just the Uncle (or Aunt) of joint venturing!LOL!
The two are so closely related, till it’s scary! But they’re both one of the highest forms of
marketing leverage possible!
And they’re both extremely versatile marketing concepts!
I always enjoy your analysis and extremely keen insights! They’re always welcome and
