How To Increase Sales Even During A Nagging Recession!

So “who” can afford not to ask the question in earnest, how to increase sales? Even during a nagging recession?  If you’re business, product or service is fortunate enough to have the ad budget of a fortune 100 or 500 corporation.

You definitely don’t need the words written here! And thanks for stopping by! But in the event you don’t. You may wanna pay attention here.

Let’s suppose you’re extremely good with clay and you like making various types of sculptures, and selling them (both) on and off of ebay.

And you also set up shop (periodically) at those weekend flea markets. The following three step (low cost) high profit potential marketing strategy, is made specifically for you.

How To Increase Sales!

(Especially If You’re Local Economy Is In A Prolonged Recession!)

The following three prong marketing attack, can and will help you generate a whole lot more sales! Especially if you’re really not that marketing savvy to begin with! Since what you really want to do is sculpture clay and not try and become a marketing guru.

Bear in mine, initially, these three proven strategies are going to take a little (maybe even) a lot of leg work initially, before they really start paying major dividends! But chip away at them, and with a little strategic tweaking (aka) testing here and there, you’ll start to gradually increase your income!

(Note: Of course, it’ entirely possible, you may not be able to (nor) wish to follow and implement all three mega proven marketing strategies! However, it’s certainly plausible and likely that you can and will be able to implement them to various degrees!)

So here you are at one of your weekend flea market festivals. And one particular piece (clay sculpture) is drawing a lot of attention and compliments etc.

Quick! Before it sells, here’s what you do to begin your potential three prong attack marketing process. (Oh by the way, just substitute your particular product for the sculptor, and you can apply the exact same marketing concepts to your particular business.)

1.) Step one: Create a “free drawing” (using a really big sign), and offer one of , if not your most popular piece in a free drawing! In other words (entrepreneur) start building your email or mobile marketing (and or snail mail post card) follow up list!

And if you attend the same flea market each week Choose a weekly winner and send everybody else some type of follow up text, email and or snail mail post card! Offering them X% off any purchase, for an extremely limited amount of time.

2.) Step two: If you need to (especially) in the beginning if you’re not yet financially able to afford your own self hosted WordPress blog. Proceed with caution with this next part, (but) temporarily use a free blogging platform like blogger or live journal etc.

And add pictures of your various pieces. And if anybody wants to order, just add you cell number and offer to come directly to them!

Provided, while your finalizing the sales, they either tweet or mention your business on Facebook!

3.) Step three: This third part is (without a doubt) the most important part of your (three prong) long term marketing process!

Ask each paying customer, if they currently run their own business or personally knows someone who does.

Or if they’re related to someone that does. Because you want to arrange to put one (or a few) of your best sculptures in their place of business! In order to generate some potential new customers!

And in exchange for the personal allowing you to do so, you’ll give them a “lifetime” discount percentage of X% off any future purchases. For as long as your sculptures remain on display in their business!

See, told you it was simple. Granted, step three will be the most -potentially- time consuming. But it’s certainly worth it. Don’t you agree? In any case, give or take a tweak here and there, that’s how to increase sales, even during a nagging recession! Any questions?

  1. Hey Mark, I think #1, building your email list with a free gift is one of the most important things for increasing sales. Getting people on a list where they can experience some value you are offering is a great way to build trust and loyalty, and that’s ultimately where the sales come from. And of course setting up joint ventures as you have suggested in #3 is always a good idea.

    Thanks for the useful tips.

  2. Marc,

What a fantastic post. This is such a great idea to market a product. I just love the analogy you have given in your video.

Beside writing great content on our blogs, we do have to get out there in the marketplace. How better, than to attract people with a contest, flea market, anything we can do to attract people to our business offer.

Right now, I’m building up my Facebook Fan Page. I’ve been doing this for a little over 30 days and have gained 15 new likes, and lots of comments.

Last week I ran a contest for a free book and received loads of likes and entries. I shared it all over the Facebook platform, and gained many people on my list because of that.

I ran it for a week, posting it different times of the day. Of course the gal who won was delighted. All her friends that she shared her joy with came on over to my blog and social sites.

Thanks for this powerful way to market.

    • You are so welcome Donna! And thank you and David for an absolutely fabulous course on blogging in general and “how to” to become rock stars using good old social media in particular! And it’s really too bad more otherwise savvy marketers, aren’t using free contest and giveaways to initially generate a semi qualified list and then long term follow up purposes! Your first hand knowledge and success with this particular type of simple proven marketing strategy, is proof enough that more savvy marketers should be using it! Thanks for sharing your results!
