(So You Can Consistently Sell More Of Your Awesome Products And Services!)
So imagine this. You’re shopping in a fairly crowed major retail store on an incredibly hot day. And as you’re making you way to the nearest checkout counter. Suddenly the doors open and in walk two rather tall and extremely large men.
At first glance your best educated guess is. They’re either former professional wrestlers, ex pro football players or ex college football jocks. But upon closer examination you realize they’ve got on a pair of dark gloves and ski masks covering their faces.
And the one wearing the clearly oversized overcoat during the blistering summer, (as if he’s concealing something not so pleasant) doesn’t exactly give you the warm fuzees, does it?
Needless to say their choice of attire doesn’t breed confidence in your engaging in small talk with, right? So much for them building unshakable trust via first impressions, right?
Believe it or not when it comes to you and I consistently building trust online. Some things as you or your major competitors are about to discover simply are not optional.
Who Said Consistently Building Trust Online Is Optional?
Now just in case you may be having temporary trouble connecting the dots. Let’s say a first time visitor arrives on your site. If nowhere else entrepreneur. There definitely needs to be a picture of you or your staff on either your about or home page.
‘Otherwise just like in the scenario described above. You’re wearing that non trust building ski mask. Imagine leaving a restaurant alone in the late evening. And while on the way to your car which is parked just one block away. A strange voice calls out to you for some type of assistance in a completely dark alley.
And they’re wearing a ski mask and dark gloves. Bingo. Your online visitor needs to see you (and your organization members) in order to start to get to know, like and trust you.
Online your visitors, especially your first time visitors are initially extremely skeptical. And the moment they initially land on your site you’ve got all of five seconds or less to convince to temporarily stick around.
Because remember their very first visit to your site or self hosted, state of the art WordPress blog is the equivalent to an offline first date. It’s very unlikely they’ll buy anything from you and just yet.
(And once they live your/our site without buying anything. The odds are not good they’ll be coming back. Which is “why” you want to be or quickly become very proactive about systematically building your opt in email list.)
They definitely need to warm up to you/us first, right? Which is “why” you offer them some type of free , (digital), how to problem solving content. Maybe a link to a popular, but relevant to their concerns webinar, free X page special report. A recording to your podcast or guest podcast appearance. Or a link to a specific blog post, or series of blog posts or guest blog post etc.
In Order To Insure Your Long Term On Or Offline Success! (Make Profit Building List Building Your Number One Priority!)
This is why you offer some type of free problem solving content to your online visitors. This way they get to sample (go on an initial) non committal date with you and I first. And if they like the very first date. Your free expert demonstrating “how to” content will definitely cause a percentage of them to want to go further.
And everyone else who remains on your list gets your ongoing, pre written follow up drip email campaign. Along with occasional previously unscheduled “broadcast” email messages.
Entrepreneur your ideal prospect who ultimately converts in to a first time then long term repeat customer or client over time. The very first thing they buy into is you and I. But this is far less likely to happen if there’s no picture(s) of you or your team on your site.
And “if” you’re a local business or service with any type of online presence. Make darn sure you add your area code and phone number on either the header or footer of your sites pages.
And don’t let your phone continuously ring without a live person picking up. Because nothing puts off your local potential customers more than your phone going unanswered during your business hours.
Your Potential First Time Customers Are Definitely Looking For A Reason To Trust You! (Don’t Purposely Disappoint Them!)
Obviously sometime(s) for any number of incredibly valid reasons you and I can’t get to the phone at that particular instance. So “if” you ask them to leave a message. And your response says you or someone within your business or service is going to return their call. Entrepreneur keep your word.
And “if” they reach out to you via text or email. Reply to their message(s) ASAP. These incredibly simple gestures go a mighty long way towards building unshakable trust on or offline. And will definitely help you consistently make a ton of money. Any questions?
