How To Get Highly Targeted Traffic To Your Site Without Relying On Search Engine Optimization! Part Two

How To Get Highly Targeted Traffic To Your Site Without Relying On Search Engine Optimization!Part Two

As you previously discovered in part one of this ongoing series, about “how” extremely savvy  entrepreneurs (such as yourself), don’t always have to rely on proven search engine  optimization  strategies and or tactics, in order to consistently generate highly targeted leads to their  WordPress websites and or blogs, correct?

Nor, do they have to rely on constantly writing rather large checks, while they attempt to figure out  potentially costly PPC (Pay Per Click) and or banner ad campaign strategies etc.

Because while PPC  and banner ad strategies are definitely a proven way to consistently generate highly targeted  traffic to your site(s.)

Ask anyone (especially) a green as grass newbie online marketer that’s attempted to use either  strategy in order to consistently generate traffic, if it does have a rather steep hit & miss learning  curve that comes with it!

Meaning; long before you get even semi proficient at it, you will have invested a ton of money &  time! Especially if you don’t bother to invest in the proper education up front! As so many overly  zealous online marketers initially fail to do!

Part two of this series is going to dive even deeper into some far less expensive, (non traditional) battlefield tested ways of consistently driving tons of highly targeted leads to your sites, without necessarily having to rely on outrageously expensive, traditional advertising methods! Such as display, local radio, newspaper and or TV ads of any kind!

Or ever changing search engine optimization strategies and or tactics! Sound good?

So How Do Extremely Savvy Entrepreneurs Consistently Drive Tons Of Highly Targeted Traffic To Their Sites, Without Having To Rely On Constantly Changing Search Engine Optimization Strategies And Tactics?

As you also previously discovered in part one, this extremely savvy local retail appliance dealer, had decided, right from the outset they were not going to rely on some of the outrageously expensive, traditional methods to consistently get highly targeted traffic to their mobile responsive WordPress blog and or website! No way!

In fact, the owners immediately sought out ways to inexpensively leverage their current business and or personal relationships, in order to systematically grow their business. For a whole lot less in up front traditional cost!

For ex: they started out by systematically approaching all the neighboring small business owners and or service providers, within a twenty square mile radius of their location, that they already had an established business relationship (of some kind), already in place.

By either calling,(or making an appointment to stop by in person), or texting and or approaching them at local chamber of commerce and or other local association meetings/awards dinner ceremonies etc. Or at other less formal social gatherings!

Next, they tapped their closets most trusted relatives, best friends, spouses and or live in significant others to approach (either) their barbers and or hair dressers etc!

They also approached their kids, grand kids and or in laws to approach their bosses and so on and so forth! They also approached their accountants and local printers and banker!

And that’s “how” , after a ton of hit & miss opportunities and “let us think about it” type of Luke warm responses, they initially got their first 27 local businesses, (with a current) combined full & part time work force of 945 people and counting, to get on board!

And this was over a 24 month period mind you!So this was far from some home run type of marketing strategy! That said, let’s see “how” they strategically go about (constantly) creating some serious on and offline, positive word of mouth and mouse! For literally pennies on the dollar!

How Extremely Savvy Marketers Use Some Inexpensive Email Marketing Strategies To Consistently Drive Tons Of Targeted Traffic To Their Websites! (And “How” You Can Too!)

Here’s the first (market tested) positive word of mouth and mouse strategy they will use, to get and keep the lip flapping campaign going! 😎 Since they currently have 27 local business (and growing!) on board. And each company’s extremely (time sensitive) VIP new customer only discount gift certificates will have that specific companies name on them!

The first ten paying customers from each individual business that comes in and purchases anything! Guess “what?” Those initial 270 first time patrons (27 stores x 10 individual paying customers each = 270 brand new and extremely happy first time paying customers!)

They will get their very first purchase at this extremely savvy retail appliance dealers actual cost! Say “what?” Think about what that will more than likely mean to that retailers future bottom line for just a second!

In walks (an unsuspecting) brand new first time customer, with an extremely time sensitive VIP new customer only discount gift certificate.

And they were all set and eagerly expecting to save a whopping 40% off (or X% off ) their initial purchase anyway!Meaning; you gotta inexpensively test, in order to discover which initial savings percentage, generates the best overall response!

And now they discover (much to their complete surprise and total satisfaction!), that they’re actually going to save even more, because (for whatever reasons) this extremely savvy retailer, is giving them their very first purchase at the retailers actual cost!

Would You Not Agree That A Little Strategic Bribery Can Go A Long Way?

You think they won’t start texting like crazy to any and everybody they know?Yep! You think they’ll tweet and post to FB and Instagram and Pinterest like crazy! Yep!

You think they won’t happily repeat this story at their kids soccer games, (at least a thousand times!) or at poker night, or while their on the golf course or while they’re driving (either) their in laws, best friend and or boss, colleague etc; to the airport! Are you freaking kidding me!

Or while their entertaining this years Super Bowl party and while everyone’s constantly slobbering over this incredible state of the art 75 inch, James Bond type of flat screen TV, that everybody knows currently retails for anywhere between $1,200 – $1,997!

(The actual numbers are irrelevant! It’s the overall concept you gotta see and appreciate people!)

And Mr or Mrs Lucky got it for just $599, (or X) plus applicable taxes and fees!Huh? “How” and where?Bingo! Now in the interest of time let’s pick up right there in part three!

But hopefully, you can see and appreciate, “how” extremely savvy entrepreneurs, (such as yourself),can consistently drive highly targeted traffic to their websites, without having to rely on ever changing search engine optimization strategies and or tactics! We clear?Good!

  1. Hey Mark,

You just took me back to when I was using PPC strategies that cost me an arm and a leg to really figure out. It took me about 10 campaigns to figure out one that was getting leads. Then I had to figure out how to improve sales conversions. So yes you do put in a lot of time and money.

But yes word of mouth will do it when it comessage to building your customer base or leads. I like the slight of hand tactic you mentioned hear by contacting your peers, family, friends and other entrepreneurs you had a somewhat rapport with. It does beat spending a lot of money on advertising!

Thanks for the share! Have a great day!

    • You so got that right Sherman!LOL!

Any time we invest our irreplaceable time and our hard earned
money and get very little bankable results initially!

That’s incredibly frustrating and sort of temporarily takes the wind out of our sails,
      so to speak!

So who isn’t up for going the creative, non traditional route at that point!

Because like you mentioned, it’s so easy to lose a ton of money ( pretty quickly I might add!) on any type
conventional paid advertising strategies, when you’re first starting out!

Until you get the hang of what you’re doing!Been there and done that!LOL!

I always look forward to your thought provoking comments and real world insights Sherman! Thanks so much
      for stopping by!

And as usual, you’ve piqued both my interest and curiosity with your benefit orientated power headline!LOL!

So I’ll definitely check it out asap!LOL!

  2. Hi Mark,

I have to say that word of mouth is still the best way to do business. My off line business still has that word of mouth and I get new clients all the time. I never advertized once. I do periodically give them a 2 for one deal, or a bring a friend and your’s is free. It’s endless the way we can do business.

As an online marketer these do work the same. The more I get into JV marketing and affiliate marketing, what I did is have the bright idea of my other blog “the buzz” to introduce people to those that are making products. Some are “gurus” some are first timer’s and others are setting up blogging groups. Whatever the case, I’m stretching out my hand even if I am not an affiliate to others and spreading the news.

This way it is like a word of mouth to other marketers. Now it is starting to get some reaction. I’m getting emails already to be interviewed on that platform. The marketers are telling each other about it.

So why am I doing this? After a while, I’ll ask them to do me a favor. I’ll ask them to promote one of my products. This cuts out all the paid ways to do marketing. Word of mouth goes a long way.

And some of the people I know are starting to get interested in that other blog. It is a chance to meet and greet the person, not as much as the product. It is all about connecting people with people. That only leads to word of mouth.

  3. Oh I love your “lip flapping campaign” terminology! Well I am strictly online – and prefer to stay that way – but these are terrific ideas Mark. I can certain attest to the power of word of mouth on any level. Last year I published a book on building a platform for new authors that I never spent a dime promoting because I really wrote it to help out some of the first time authors I had been mentoring. Well a couple of them started talking it up in LinkedIn writer/author groups and the darn thing took off and for months it was my best seller! Gotta love those lip flapping campaigns!
