So entrepreneur, did you happen to notice in part two of this ongoing series.
“How” some of the most savviest, and profit seeking entrepreneurs.
And in this particular case,(a small local) bar/restaurant establishment, helped a pro-active teddy bear retailer distributor, consistently reach a prime target of theirs.
Which is (primarily) women, simply by using part of their traditional advertising budget, and instead of just spending a ton of money on outrageously expensive ads, in various mediums, like local (prime time) radio & TV spots.
Or going the way of expensive Sunday newspaper inserts etc.They decided to pursue helping other local small business owners increase their customer base and the positive word of mouth and mouse buzz, that often goes with it!
That way, when the marketing dust finally settles, both companies are far better off, because of the retailers efforts.
Part three will delve even deeper, and demonstrate “how” some of these marketing savvy entrepreneurs really make their traditional advertising dollars work, at least 500% harder than normal, simply by applying them to some extremely viable marketing alternatives.
So How Come More Of Today’s Extremely Savvy Entrepreneurs Aren’t Routinely Converting Their Traditional Advertising Dollars Into Long Term Gross Profits!
Picking up where part two left off, this extremely savvy teddy bear retailer distributor, decided to form a strategic joint venture, (with at least) two other local vendors, that need the exact same customer base, but are clearly non competitive to one another.
As you recall, a local bar/restaurant, let every woman customer that purchased any premium beer, wine and or alcoholic beverage of any kind.
(Simply for) doing so, they automatically qualified to spin this mini prize wheel, that was located behind the bar, but portable, so that it could be placed on the bar table, for the ladies to spin.
And every time it landed on the square, (simply) labeled “congratulations,” the bar owner and or the bar attendant on duty, was instructed to give these ladies a two sided index style post card, so these ladies (could first), call the teddy bear retailers warehouse, and give their specific details, so the retailer knew where to deliver their seven foot teddy bear! 😀
And second, they would be instructed to be sure and go to the retailers (state of the art) WordPress website, and enter their monthly free drawing, for a chance to win a second giant seven foot teddy bear, they could then gift to anyone they chose,within the country!And this simple marketing ploy is referred to as the “buddy plan!”
Isn’t It Funny How Some Small Business Marketing Strategies Just Constantly Lead To More And More Business!
But here’s the really cool part, once the teddy retailer takes down the woman’s physical contact info, (power list building 101 BTW.)
And they actually deliver the teddy on site, (which in 98%) of the cases, will be to the woman’s actual place of employment, the delivery person will also hand her a rather fancy sealed envelope, that has her first and last name on it!(Which simply means, you know she won’t waste a second ripping it open!) Correct? 😀
And inside, (as you might) have already guessed, is (just depending) on how many other female co-workers,(18 and over) she told the operator, actually worked there.There will be that many two sided index cards, inviting those women to (also) rush over to the retailers WordPress website,so they too can enter, the retailers monthly free drawing!
(In other words, join the retailers constantly growing opt in email/mobile marketing database!) And right about now, as (at least) some of the other female (and male) co-workers get wind, that someone in the office, just had a seven foot teddy bear delivered!(And it’s not even Valentines Day!)
Extremely Successful Entrepreneurs Leverage Positive Word Of Mouth Or Mouse Situations!
Before she can return to her work station, or put old teddy in her car! The smart phones are snapping photos and posting them all over their social media accounts 24/7! Are they not? 😀
Close girlfriends that work elsewhere, relatives, in laws, daughters, Mothers,spouses, live in significant others,and other co-workers, that took the day off,and or are currently on vacation, are suddenly being bombarded with both text messages and photos etc! 😀
These female co-workers are posting like crazy to both of their Facebook accounts, they’re constantly tweeting, their posting on Instagram and Pinterest, correct? Absolutely!
Which means, the teddy bear retailers website/blog is definitely getting a nice influx of semi qualified traffic! Entrepreneur, wrap your mind around all that positive viral marketing activity, as opposed to constantly running outrageously expensive traditional ads!
Now while all that whirlwind of (positive) viral word of mouth and mouse buzz is taking place!Phases two and three of the retailers overall marketing plan, is simultaneously kicking in into gear as well! Say what? 😉
The Right Small Business Marketing Activities Can Lead To A Gateway Of Long Term Profitability! (Don’t You Agree?)
Okay, ladies &gentlemen, here’s where a staggering 98% of some otherwise, extremely savvy entrepreneurs would literally blow, a potentially golden, (long term) perpetual, lead generating marketing opportunity!
You’re probably wondering what more, is there possibly left to do here, correct? Well, for just a second, think about the delivery person.

You make such a valid point. Word of mouth isn’t the only social marketing anymore. Nowadays, people are actively seeking pictures of things. If something associated with what you’re promoting can be photographed, they want to see it. I think especially so with contests that you mentions because it lets them know that it real, not a gimmick.
