Do you think, most cash strapped small business owners, and or service providers, think they deserve mega success, any less than some of today’s savviest entrepreneurs?
In the first six installments, of this ongoing series, it’s pretty obvious, (or it) should be, that if you can’t or won’t, (think outside the box), then you darn well better, be able to (somehow) expand the box you’re currently in? Would you not agree?
One of the main -ongoing- challenges, far too many cash strapped small business owners/service providers constantly face is, they simply don’t have enough proven marketing creativity to fall back on, to help them systematically overcome, their fear of inexpensively testing, their marketing strategies, tactics and or theories etc.
So instead, they desperately cling to what they’ve already experienced, even if the previous results, have done nothing but gradually drain their traditional advertising/promotional budget. Ouch.
And unless, or until they discover and embrace, a newer far more proactive approach to their marketing efforts, unfortunately, they will continue to experience (pretty much) the exact same results!Let’s not let that happen….
If Drastically Lowering Outrageously Expensive Advertising Costs And Converting Them Into Some Bankable Long Term Gross Profits Is Good Enough For Some Of Today’s Savviest Entrepreneurs!
(Then Why Isn’t Consistently Doing So Good Enough For You?)
So picking up (pretty much) where installment number six left off, let’s really dive much deeper, in terms of doing some power networking.
To begin with, let’s say the strategic alliance, (aka) joint venture the local jeweler put together with the female bartenders and waitresses, of this husband & wife, restaurant/bar & grill.
This potentially profitable arrangement, will allow at least a few of these semi entrepreneurial women,(per establishment business) they can and will put together an arrangement like this with, to become certified “goodwill ambassadors” for them.
And here’s just one of the low cost, high impact strategies/tactics they will inexpensively test and carefully monitor the results.
To see , what or if,the specific marketing tactic(s) needs any moderate to severe tweaking of any kind, and or if it simply needs to be eliminated altogether.
Great Entrepreneurial Ideas Strive And Survive Only As Much As The Creators Are Committed To Fighting For Them!
Now remember, this (single location) semi cash strapped jeweler, which is currently in fourth place, in their local market, in terms of readily measurable, traditional market share.
They’re constantly under siege by the (almost) endless barrage of outrageously expensive, traditional ad campaigns being launched by their three major -local- competitors, within their local market.
Especially during the annual holiday rush season.Where these other three major competitors, seem to double their upfront ad budgets, because it seems like their literally, isn’t a day or week that goes by, starting in early October, until January 31st of the following year, where they don’t have some combination of (offline) direct snail mail, local radio & TV ads and or expensive full page Sunday newspaper ads etc.
And all this traditional advertising activity, while it’s many things, being inexpensive is not one of them!
So they’re not about to waste the vast majority of their extremely limited advertising/marketing budget, trying to go direct head to head with their extremely deep pocketed major competitors!
Don’t Let Your Lack Of Marketing Creativity Stand In The Way Of Your Entrepreneurship!
Here’s “how” they’ll strategically compete instead!Initially, the jeweler will sell each of the three, incredibly outgoing women bartenders, one of their eye catching, $1,500 dollar, diamond studded necklaces, at their actual costs, plus any and all applicable taxes and fee etc!
And provide each of them with at least, 60 of their specially made, two sided business cards.And any time any person, (but especially) when another female asks them the 411 about their eye catching $1,500 dollar bling, they will hand the ladies one of the jewelers specially made cards.
Plus inform the potential lead/customer, the jeweler is currently looking for at least 50 (or X) more outgoing women, to (in essence) showcase (either) one of their $1,000 to $1,500 dollar, diamond studded necklaces, and or enthusiastically strut around, sporting a pair of their (really) eye catching $400 dollar, diamond studded earrings.
Your Marketing Funnel Doesn’t Have To Go extremely Wide Just Go Extremely Deep!
And the first 50 (or X number of) women, (that do) a combination of, registering for the jewelers free monthly drawing at their mobile responsive WordPress blog, and bring a brand new potential first time customer with them to the jewelers store, whose 18 and over.
Just for doing so, they’ll automatically get a free women’s bracelet, that would normally retail for $100 dollars! Or X.
And if their guest also joins their opt in email list, before they leave the store, the customer who brought them automatically gets a $20 dollar gas card as an additional ethical bribe! 😀
Both of those incredibly simple and relatively inexpensive marketing ploys, should create quite a bit of free, positive word of mouth & mouse publicity, once both these ladies get back around their immediate circle of influence! Don’t you agree?
Your Small Business Won’t Stay Small Once You Start Implementing Several Of These Battlefield Tested Strategies!
Now here’s phase two, of their non conventional marketing strategy.The jeweler will find out where (either) these three female bartenders, (and or) seven full and part time waitresses, (that are also eagerly participating in this unconventional marketing ploy. )
The jeweler will gladly provide (either) the owner of a popular hair, and or nail salon with their very own, $1,000 dollar diamond studded necklace and matching $300 to $450 dollar diamond studded earrings, at their actual cost.
Provided the owners of these fine establishments, agree to proactively help the jeweler get the word out asap!

There’s always something we can do about cutting into our costs for advertising, isn’t there?
The funny thing, too, is that free methods can be even more effective many times… if we do it right.
In the case you give us here, the “free advertising” … or really, bartered for advertising… gives the jeweler a different type of advertising than would typically be the case. But it’s really more of a testimonial than just an ad, and I’d argue a testimonial is more personal, more direct, and therefor more effective than a paid ad that is little more than a stranger making a cold call pitch.

And I totally agree with you,an ad is not only
impersonal, but once you run it, that’s pretty much it!
You get absolutely no residual effect of any kind!Yet
your money is gone!
On the other had, by allowing some highly active, highly
influential individuals, to become (in essence) walking talking
billboards for your business, product and or service etc.
You get long term residual word of mouth & mouse, for literally
pennies on the dollar!

A lot of us tend to limit ourselves from thinking about the free marketing that’s available to us. In the case of the jeweler it’s about give and take. You can look at it as a marketing barter system where you can get free advertising and providing the advertiser and incentive that they will enjoy having.
It’s a lot better than spending a lot of money on marketing which is something I fell under and still paying for it. I have to be smarter with paid advertising. But all it takes is using your head to come up with inventive strategies that will get you over the hump!
