Hey Mark,
If it’s one thing we must do, is to make an effort to avoid blogging mistakes. Especially at the beginning of the year when you’re making plans for the rest of the year.
I think the one thing that newbie bloggers should start doing is networking by commenting and sharing other blogs. This is what really got me over and at the same time they can build a vast community of genuine supportive bloggers like yourself..
Above all, it’s a strong start towards getting 7000 unique monthly visitors to their blog as well. Especially if they comment on blogs with the commentluv plugin! You definitely can’t go wrong with that!
Great post and reminder Mark! Have a great upcoming weekend!

Hi Mark,
I love your “mistakes” list. I rarely see people advise new bloggers properly about building a conversion mechanism into their blogs. In fact, I often work with bloggers who wonder why they’re not building a profitable business with their somewhat popular blog when, come find out… they’re doing practically Nothing to turn people into list subscribers, buyers of their products, or clients for their services.
People wouldn’t be able to do business with them even if they tried 🙂
You’re steering folks in the right direction and I hope they get the message earlier in their blogging journey than later… *yes, it’s critical*… thanks for the red flags on this, Mark.

This post served as a bit of a refresher for me. I have sort of forgotten some of the points you drive home here.

Hi Mark,
I’m sooo with you about guiding your reader. The last thing you want is for your reader to be confused or not know where to go after everything is all said and done.
They need to be clear on what’s happening next or how they can apply what you’ve discussed. If they’re confused at the end they’ll soon forget you and what you’ve offered. You wanted them to be interested and stay interested.
Thanks for the reminders.

Great tips as always Mark. Two of my favorites are Donna’s Tribe – (she does an awesome job!) and Commentluv. I’ve used Commentluv from the beginning – that is their beginning – and don’t hesitate to recommend it. Thanks for the inspiration Mark!

But hey, you definitely live and learn, right? You do a lot of stuff, especially
online, without having the slightest clue what you’re doing!LOL!
In my particular case, you don’t realize right off, that simply
having a self hosted WP blog, and consistently posting to it,
is nowhere near enough, in order to start gaining traction!
Because before I starting following experts like, my Coach & Mentor
Adrienne Smith & Donna & David Merrill etc!
I was basically experiencing crickets on practically every
blog post I published!LOL!
And absolutely no real clue how to change that!LOL!
Thanks so much for stopping by and offering your input and
