So I bet you never thought in your wildest dreams, that your next visit to the doctor could involve into some sort of lead generation revelation and or breakthrough correct?
I’m mean who goes to or takes their kid(s) to the dentist, and upon leaving their appointment,has some sort of Epiphany about (of all things) lead generation? 😎
Well, call it your “lucky day” fate, divine intervention and or “whatever” you choose to, but watch “how” a simple (nonchalant) doctor’s visit, can potentially lead to some major breakthroughs, with regards to effective long term lead generation strategies and or tactics.
And “why” it’s proof positive, that merely having an open mind about “what’s” truly possible and practical, is all you need (initially), in order to experience some major success and growth!
So How The Heck Can Some Really Great Lead Generation Possibilities Be One Simple Doctor’s Visit Away?
So let me (quickly) share with you the real inspiration behind this particular post!I recently published another post, (actually an ongoing three part series), on this exact same subject of highly pro-active lead generation strategies and or tactics etc.
And the main (overall) theme of the series, was “how” some extremely savvy entrepreneurs such as yourself, could actually see past where they routinely eat a really good tasting steak for lunch or dinner!
And instead, (from a pro-active marketing standpoint), see a place (and or opportunity) that might potentially be converted into a perpetual lead generation goldmine!
With a few systematic tweaks and or adjustments mind you! 😎 That said, one of my totally excellent Coaches, Julieanne Van Zyl,who is an absolute master at building (mobile response), profit producing WordPress sites (and or blogs), left a very inspirational and real world example comment, that actually confirmed exactly “what” some of the marketing concepts that I had shared in the post, were advocating.
So I’m going to reprint her awesome comments here, so you can see exactly what she shared, as it related to the overall theme of my post.
That way your understanding (and hopefully) appreciation of my (this) follow up post, is even more profound.
“Hi Mark, giving something valuable away for free or for a very low cost, is a great way for people to remember you.
Recently, my 5 year old grand daughter fractured her arm and the surgeon inserted a pin in her elbow to stabilize the bones while they healed correctly. Then, she had to have the pin out – instead of giving her an anesthetic, they had a couple of clowns amuse her and her mother and baby brother, while the doctor was busy taking it out.
They had a 2 hour trip home afterwards and the little girl talked of nothing else but those funny clowns. And, when they got home, they found a card with her photo on it, with one of the clowns!
That really made her day, and now she loves hospitals instead of hating them. Do you think her mother would love to employ those clowns at some time? Oh yes! Those clowns gave away a very valuable gift, but it was a good lead generation piece too. News travels fast when someone gives away something THAT valuable.“
And it was her inspirational and real world experience, that really creatively inspired the follow up post you are currently reading!That said; let’s have a closer look under the hood!
How And Why You Never Know How Or Where True Lead Generation Inspiration Will Come From!!
So follow this: let’s say a local dentist is seeing a young girl patient, (age seven) for the very first time. In fact, it’s this little girl (and therefore) her Mother’s very first visit to this particular dentist’s office.
And because the little girl is extremely nervous and unsure about what to expect, in order calm her fears and mounting anxiety,the dentist wisely offers to let the girl’s Mother accompany her patient into the patient’s care room, just so the Mom can effectively deal with any last minute apprehension she may be feeling as well! 😎
And it’s right then and there, this extremely savvy female dentist learns of “how” when this same little girl recently had a pin removed from her arm,instead of the doctor giving her your typical anesthetic, instead he hired some clowns to amuse both her, her baby brother and mother, while he carefully removed the pin!
And the little girl also recalled “how” much she loved the card she got of her and the clown! And of course, “how” she couldn’t wait to tell all of her friends and family members etc!!
Of course, in hearing of this highly unusual and therefore extremely successful alternative to client/patient care!
This extremely savvy dentist is absolutely blown away!! So much so, that later on that very same night she can barely sleep, constantly tossing and turning! Until finally, she suddenly awakens out of her non restful sleep, literally ringing with sweat, but filled (inspired) with a potential lead generation breakthrough of her own!
She’s long since wanted to do some type of formal community out reach with local kids with disabilities, and potential lower income patients and their kids etc!
However, the full reality is, she’s running a business, (and her competition is nothing short of fierce!) So first and foremost, if she doesn’t pay the current bills, the rest is moot! 😎
That said, she is absolutely hell bent determined, to if nothing else, play a small but (ever growing) significant roll, in her local community to make at least part of her long term “community service dream and inspiration” a reality!
It’s A Good Thing That Really Good Lead Generation Strategies And Tactics Are More About The Way You Think Than Anything Else!!
So here’s what she plans on doing, (maybe) to start, once every other month and or every 60 days etc!
And see “how” it initially goes, and what her true ongoing costs are, and “how” much dependable private and corporate financial help and other extremely valuable resources, she can count on in her local business and private communities!
Instead of (just) utilizing clowns, this extremely savvy dentist will systematically approach some of the most popular (local) and enthusiastic magicians she can find!
And she’s going to ask them to perform in her charity outreach for local kids with disabilities events!But here’s just one of her (ever so brilliant) marketing twists!
She’s going to have a all the kids in attendance vote for the,“Best Magician/Clown For Kids With Disabilities Award!” Meaning; after every show, all the kids in attendance, get to vote for their favorite Magician and or clown!And the winner gets a really cool plaque and an interview on both the local news and a popular local radio station!
And the only stipulation is, the kids that actually vote, cannot not be related to the performers in any way shape or form etc!
And to begin with, the dentist (and her associates) will approach (both) popular local radio, TV, Newspaper and local charities about mentioning her events, in their unsold air time and or unsold newsletter advertising space etc!
And she’ll approach other local small to mid size business owners about donating their catering services and their older currently unused vans, for transporting some of the kids whose parents, otherwise couldn’t afford to bring their kids to these events!!
You know the local media (not to mention) some of the locally based, (highly) influential bloggers will absolutely love featuring this extremely savvy, socially conscious dentist’s, totally “feel good story” on their highly visited WordPress blogs! 😎
And periodically interview her and (hopefully) some of her ever growing staff !! 😎
And local radio & TV stations will, hopefully (at some point) want to be a part of spreading the word too!Which means, those local clowns and magicians, should relish performing for free at these highly publicized events as well!
Because, who know’s “how” many long term private and (really good paying) corporate performance request, this type of (extremely viral) marketing exposure can and will lead to!Right?
Plus, what local performer in their right (marketing mind), doesn’t want to proudly display and constantly mention the fact, they were this years (and maybe) last years too, recipient of the annual voted, “Best Magician/Clown For Kids With Disabilities Award!”
And (going forward), you know which local dentist of choice, most of the (highly influential) little people will definitely want to be a patient of? 8-)So in an extremely small, but (hopefully) not insignificant way, you can see and appreciate a small sample of the overall lead generation possibilities!
