When you hear and process the words “being resourceful?” What immediately comes to mind? Do get the feeling you may may actually be more in control than you currently think or give yourself credit for? If you do you are correct.
It’s actually a matter of doing some internal resource recognition auditing. Say what? In order to really get a realistic grip on what is truly or potentially possible for you and I entrepreneur. You first have to truly understand and appreciate not only what you already have direct (instant) access to.
But “how to” strategically connect the dots to what it is you truly want. And my honest assessment is this. You and I or your major competitors are simply one or two influential power networks away from being exactly where you want to be. And some strategic transformation from whom you ultimately want to become.
So there’s definitely a lot riding here. Don’t you agree?
Being Resourceful Goes A Mighty Long Way In Helping You Build Your Rock Solid Brand!
If you needed to raise $10,000 dollars you definitely don’t have direct access to in the next 30 days or less. Would being resourceful help or hurt your efforts? In other words if your traditional sources such as business or personal credit cards are temporarily tapped out. And you really need to raise all or most of this capital in the next 30 days or less.
Or it means either one or all three of the following:
A.) Losing some or all of your equity in a business partnership.
B.) Having legal foreclosure proceedings started on your house. (Or whatever potentially valuable asset you pledged as collateral.)
C.) Or having legal proceedings started on your investment property you got a not exactly cheap second mortgage on to help fund your business or service.
Are these situations dire enough to really get your creative survival juices flowing. So you stand a reasonable chance of accomplishing your short term goal(s.) Sadly most aspiring entrepreneurs simply are not resourceful enough.
Entrepreneur Sometimes A Temporary Set Back Can Be Or Quickly Become One Of Your Best Long Term Motivators!
They think and feel just because they may have been turned down twice in the last 18 months,. For either an initial small business or personal loan of some. Or for whatever reasons their Insurance company won’t let them borrow enough money at a reasonable interest rate from their “whole life” Insurance policy. All is lost.
When the hard cold truth of the matter is. Their mom & pop, single location nail or hair salon or auto repair garage can potentially be strategically turned into a perpetual cash cow. Say what? (but it’s definitely gonna take some laser focus effort on you or your major competitors.)
Even if they don’t raise their prices nor discount them either. Say what? Of course without any detailed explanation of any kind. You’re more than super skeptical, correct? Which is totally understandable.

Entrepreneur Your Next Major Power Partner (s) May Be As Close To You As Your Very Next Or First Guest Podcast Appearance!
So recently while appearing as guest on. I was asked point blank. What resources do or would I recommend, for aspiring African American entrepreneurs? And the super condensed answer(s) I provided are meant to jump start our/your collect creative, entrepreneurial juices.
And hopefully open your minds entrepreneurial eyes incredibly wide. Because in this age of strategic power networking. And one of the co host. (That being the host of Perky Perspectives podcast.
She summed up what I shard with the following inspirational insight. “Grow your network to grow your net worth.” Bingo. The only real shortages are currently located between our left and right ears.
You expand and consistently develop that area of previous untapped possibilities. And it will continuously reward you for literally years and years to come. So I personally urge you to place more emphasis, resources and assets to developing it. And the creativity it consistently yields will more than make doing so worth it.
So How Do You Initially Go About Being Resourceful? ( Especially When You Don’t Feel You’re Bringing Anything Of Value To The Table!)
The really short answer is. You initially start right where you are. Huh? Meaning strategically reaching out to your current and future vendors. Because they have sometimes more to gain by helping your business or service grow. Say what?
Case in point. Let’s say you have a mom & pop corner store. And now you’re selling some really great tasting gourmet coffee, cocoa, lemonade and ice tea.
And you have a vendor who sells you sugar in fairly large quantities. They may be able to also buy this greater bulk quantities from these local vendor. And sell it to you at their cost. So they net more on the back end. By selling you even more sugar at retail. Huh?
Because as your customers consume more and more great tasting gourmet coffee or ice tea or lemonade etc. They’ll also be consuming more and more sugar. Plus they’ll also occasionally purchase additional stuff from you or your major competitors.
And as you or your major competitors are going to “discover” when you listen to the entire episode. The rarely utilized strategies and tactics revealed in the session, hopefully gives a small and potentially profitable glimpse. Into how and “why” being resourceful definitely involves some type of strategic power networking. Don’t you agree?
