Strictly for conceptual marketing illustrative purposes only, let’s say that you run two fairly successful local retail jewelry outlets. Which means you’re probably used to shelling out big bucks for outrageously expensive traditional advertising mediums, such as local radio, TV and newspaper ads etc.
And your typical cost per lead, could easily run as high as $175-$475 per lead or more!
But since your typical “total lifetime customer value” figure easily hovers around $15K, it more than justifies your cost per lead.So it only makes sense that you’d be out front, when it comes to implementing cutting edge marketing strategies and tactics.

What if the savvy local jeweler (so that would be you!) decides to target the “recently engaged” niche. Because as soon they “announce” and the bride to be starts proudly showing off her brand spanking new engagement ring!
They’ll need those other small business owners products and services as well! So in order to build a really responsive list of future customers to be. The jeweler decides to create a really big sign and place it in the middle of their store(s).
And the sign simply says “Free Drawing!” And it goes on to say, if you’re planning on getting engaged, enter this free drawing for a chance to win a fabulous $5,000 dollar engagement ring package! That includes an additional $500 dollars worth of free announcements in at least two major local newspapers and or specialty magazines to boot! And be mention on your Facebook fan page!
Here’s the point, let’s say you run your promotion for at least six months and you whined up with 150 couples names.
It shouldn’t be too hard to demonstrate to the other four probably) not as marketing savvy small business owners, to (if nothing else), rent those names from you at just $10 dollars per lead!
Because whatever they’re currently doing to successfully lead generate, (if they even know how to effectively lead generate at all), they probably can’t do it for just a measly$10 dollars per lead!
Which means, for just $1,500 dollars, they can have unlimited access to the entire list! As opposed to buying some list brokers “compiled list”, that they can only use once!
But more importantly, did you notice what just took place here! The other four other (less savvy marketers), just invested $1,500 apiece, for a grand total of $6,000 dollars! ($1,500 ea. x four =$6,000 dollars.)

Entrepreneur, don’t ever forget, that list that you created, is an extremely valuable asset! You can endorse those other previously mentioned small business owners products or services to your list, for a percentage of (either) the front or back end profits! The choice is yours.
Or you can simply start lining up ton of local non compete local small business owners and just sell (periodically) sell them your ever growing list, at so much per lead! get creative already! Because no matter how you slice it, you’ll be creating some serious long term (bank account filling) marketing leverage! Don’ you agree?
