Definitely there is no shortage of information for research. In fact, in today’s digital world, I would say that there is ‘over-flow’ of information.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!

  5. You’ve sure laid out a lot of great advice here, Mark.

I think an especially important point is to really address your followers’ most pressing needs. What are the big questions, problems, obstacles for folks in your niche?

That’s the place you are most likely to turn some heads and get them to pay attention to you because, after all, everybody knows they’ve got to get past this big obstacle.

It certainly brands you as a specialist, an authority or an expert. That’s who people turn to when they’re looking for answers to their problems. Solve their problems and they’re going to follow you all over the place, for a long time to come.

right heads, by specializing and becoming recognized as one of the go to experts, within your niche!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your extremely keen insights! And for your continuous support!

      I totally appreciate both!

  6. Mark, I loved all of your tips, and I have to say that the first one is the one that resonated the most to me because it’s directly related to solving problems…which is what ALL business owners need to do to be sure that their target customer or client will always want to turn to them in the time of need.

Though it seems like solutions provision would be the first thing that businesses would blog about, it’s often the dead last thing that they do. Talking about how many customers/client you have is not as important to someone who is new to your expertise. Solving their problem, however, is.

Great article, Mark! I think this is my first time visiting your site. I will be sure to come back, again!

    • Awesome Christi!

Thank you for your extremely kind words and enthusiasm! I’m definitely in your camp about how
so called savvy small business owners and or service providers and sadly, even some savvy
      entrepreneurs as well.

Literally waste countless golden opportunities to establish their expertise and inexpensively increase their market share,
simply by strategically addressing the major issues and or concerns of their industry in general and or their specific target market
      in particular!

BTW, let me just say, that I visited your blog for the very first time, just last week and was very impressed! And I
social shared one of your post, but because I don’t currently have the discus plugin, I wasn’t sure if I
could leave a comment, because I definitely wanted to.

And now I see the headline from your latest post. That is a great headline BTW! So I’ll definitely have to check it out!LOL!
Thanks so much much for your extremely kind and inspiring words Christi!

And thanks for stopping by and showing your support! I’m grateful for both! Please don’t be a stranger going forward!

  7. Excellent tips Mark. I’m a researcher and one thing that never ceases to amaze me is how – time and again – I see people reference information that is outdated or inaccurate. It’s as though they completely ignore the date of an article or report – if it pops up at the top of a Google search or they see another blogger writing about it then it must be worth using.

There’s a(now)famous example where several of the biggest names in self-help repeatedly referenced a study at a major university using it as the basis for their claims. The problem is, that study never actually took place but you’d have to dig through 4 pages of search results to find the disclaimer published by the same university refuting those claims.

My point is while I agree that “expert” or “educator” status is not necessarily required no matter how busy an Entrepreneur/Small Business Owner/Blogger is, if they want to establish their brand as trustworthy and authentic don’t take short cuts or blindly follow the herd when it comes to the information you share with your audience.
Marquita Herald recently posted…Stepping Stones: Self MotivationMy Profile

    • Spot on Marquita!

That must have been quite the bombshell, when the real truth was finally revealed regarding the study!LOL!

And as you mentioned, both on & offline, you definitely see a lot of Pete and repeat!

With regards to newbies simply regurgitating what they learned from the guru courses! There’s certainly more than enough of that going on.

Let’s face it, it definitely takes a ton of hard work and dedication, to be authentic like you and some others!

Great points and I couldn’t agree more! Thanks for your continuous support and for your extremely valuable feedback!

Both are greatly appreciated! Can’t wait to read your latest post! Will definitely check it out within
the next day or two!Take care!
