Remember when you were a kid and some older adult or parent that you totally admired & respected would advise you about doing something (or not) doing something, that they themselves weren’t actually doing? Like driving with your their seat belt fastened! That’s before it became the law. Well, have you noticed “how” certain marketers can really get on their proverbial high horse about “how” it no longer makes economic sense for you to have an active email campaign of any kind!
And yet, “how” did you receive the message from them? (Email!) Bingo! In fact, a while back a rather well known online marketer sent out an email, about (what else?) video marketing, proclaiming “how” email marketing itself was dead! Yea right!
Hey, not to be misunderstood here. Without a doubt, email open rates overall, have taken a dramatic turn for the worse!(But not for everybody!) And fewer of them -unfortunately- get open & even the ones that do, the overall click through rates (CTR) are way down as well! All true. However, pound for pound and inch for inch, a proactive email campaign still makes economic sense!
If nothing else; for the five potentially profitable reasons you’re about to read about here…
Five Potentially Profitable Reasons Why An Active Email Campaign Still Makes Sense!
1.) Reason # one: Entrepreneur you can continue to kid yourself all you want! But as long as your potential customer/client voluntarily opted in to join your list! (On or offline!) You’ve got some type of established cred (and a built in) level of trust! So periodically and strategically emailing them makes perfect sense! Provided you don’t destroy your cred by simply becoming a glorified pitchman!
They know (and respect) the fact that you (and I) need sales to stay in business! They just don’t constantly want to be beat over the head with it!
2.) Reason # two: When was the last time, you mailed an inexpensive sales letter (if there is such a thing!) And your prospect (either) forwarded your postcard and or sales letter to a friend?
Yet everybody has done it at some point with an email they received from another marketer, correct? (By the way, you know you always socially bookmark this post, right?) Thanks!
3.) Reason # three: Let’s say you’re a local offline bricks & mortar business (and or) service provider. And you’d like to hold a closed door (to the general public!) sales event! Why waste money sending postcards, (that could literally take days ) to get to them, when a simple broadcast email and or simple (text message) will do!
You can control exactly who gets your message and who doesn’t! No wasted dollars paying for mass exposure, like you would using your local newspaper and or radio ads etc.
4.) Reason # four: Email is still a great way to let your valued subscribers know about relevant industry news via (either) yours or another marketers newsletter/ezine etc.
5.) Reason # five: And finally… You can inexpensively send frequent email (or text message) updates, simply by pushing a button! Your 100-25,000 emails can be delivered to your subscribers inbox within minutes, if not seconds!
Bonus: Plus, you can send them messages driving them back to your WordPress blog or to inform them about an upcoming webinar, offline event or to send them a link for a tele seminar replay etc.
Of it’s understood that you’ll need a reliable state of the art paid email service provider! But for these five major reasons and others! An active email campaign just flat out still makes sense! Would you not agree?
