Entrepreneur if you’re wondering for the record whether strategic guest blogging or guest podcasting is still a proven form of marketing on lots of levels. Especially if you don’t currently have your very own self hosted WordPress blog. Say what?
Even if you only currently have your very own fully functional, stand alone landing/lead capture page.
At the end of your blog post or somewhere within the actual blog post you can strategically link to your landing page and start building your all important opt in email list.
So even if you don’t plan on getting your self hosted blog or website up and going until later. You or your major competitors can and definitely should be leveraging as many relevant guest blogging or guest podcasting opportunities as possible. Because your “CTA” (Call To Action” ) could direct the visitors or listeners to your best market tested landing page.
And typically the blog you guest write for or the podcast you appear on as a guest will help introduce your business or service to a whole new audience for literally pennies on the dollar. Sound like a plan worth pursuing or what?
Entrepreneur The Right Guest Blogging Opportunities Can And Will Help Kick The Door To Long Term Marketing Possibilities Wide Open!
Case in point. I recently had the honor and privilege of having a guest post published on multi seven figure earner John Thornhill’s blog. Simply click the link of his name in order to read and hopefully apply “what” you or your major competitors discover.
So ‘why” or what is the potential significance of having this happen you so skeptically ask? First of all John’s blog has an incredibly high “DA” (Domain Authority) of 56 points out of a possible 100. (And because of his proven blogging expertise it’s steadily rising.)
(BTW entrepreneur “what’s” your blogs current DA rating?) Anyway John readily admits on average about 20,000 unique visitors voluntarily stop by on a monthly basis. Some months there’s a little more and some months a little less.
And as you can well imagine all types of eyeballs frequently stop by. Some strictly to consume his or the guest bloggers content. And they basically have no intentions whatsoever of ever investing a nickel in any John’s paid products or services.
Others frequently stop by for the exact opposite reasons. And it’s those eyeballs you and I or your/our major competitors are definitely looking to connect with, right?
Entrepreneur Can You Honestly Think Of A More Direct Way To Inexpensively Get In Front Of Your Target Audience For Literally Pennies On The Dollar?
Especially if (like me) you too have your own self hosted blog. Especially if your blog is less than five years old. You and I are competing with not only recognized other experts within your chosen field. But at least some of them have much greater influence and therefore much greater reach than you and I.
For ex; they may already have a gazillion followers on twitter, Instagram, Linkedin or 700,000 subscribers to their youtube channel(s.) Plus you throw in they may also have at least 75,000 or more opt in email subscribers as well.
Again “how” large and engaged is your current opt in email list? (Do you even have one started yet?) And for just a moment consider this. Let’s say you (like I recently did) have a guest blog post published on a mega influencer-s blog like John Thornhill’s blog.
And not knowing “how” many current opt in subscribers he currently has. But let’s say strictly for hypothetical marketing illustration purposes only. His opt in subscriber lists totals 75,000. (And it’s definitely steadily growing.)
And he sends a link to your guest blog post to all 75,000 or X number of his subscribers. And his email messages average a 34% open rate. Which means at least 25,500 at least open his email message. (75,000 x .34% = 25,500.)
And another 27 or X% click through and ultimately read your or my guest blog post at least once. Now you’re talking an additional 6,885 brand new eyeballs get initially exposed to you and I for literally pennies on the dollar. ( 25,500 x .27% = 6,885.)
How often can you systematically or strategically generate that many semi targeted eyeballs to your blog or podcast content for literally pennies on the dollar?
You Can Either Systematically Start Generating Some Type Of long Term Marketing Leverage For Literally Pennies On The Dollar! (Or Keep Trying To Solve Your Lack Of Traffic By Constantly Spending Money You Really Don’t Have!)
In John’s case he also shares your guest blog post on his constantly growing social media accounts as well. And some of his followers and email subscribers also share it to their constantly growing on or offline networks. (Can you say positive word of mouth and mouse viral marketing?)
And of course here I am sharing it as well. Hopefully you’re starting to appreciate “what’s” happening here long term, correct? Our guest blog post or guest podcast gets archived and future eyeballs or current or future influencers can “discover” and share it later as well.
And it literally kicks the door wide open to future power networking opportunities. Which were it not for our initial strategic guest blogging or guest podcasting opportunities. Would probably never materialized. Or at least not to this particular level. Don’t you agree?
