So have you also noticed, (more times than not), being an entrepreneur, means, you develop the ability, to see the overall (long term) marketing picture. Not just getting caught up in the (short term) snap shots.
Case in point; there are literally, a ton of proven ways, for you and I to (either), inexpensively generate, some brand new first time customers, clients and or patients etc.
Or re-activate some ex-customers and or ex-newsletter/paid membership subscribers.
Or strategically go about increasing your referrals, or implementing some proven ways to increase the overall conversion rates of your Pay Per Click (PPC) ad campaigns etc.
But even if you are successful, at accomplishing, any one or several of these marketing challenges. For the vast majority of entrepreneurs, that’ where their progress starts and stops!Huh?
And that’s the real point of this particular post!Let’s have a much closer look, so you get a much deeper understanding, of this all too common (entrepreneurial) occurrence.
So Why Does Being An Entrepreneur Mean Seeing The Overall Big Picture?
(And Not Just The Snap Shots!)
Case in point: take a look at this rather (all too) common marketing dilemma, of a DJ, who wants to throw (host) a rather large and fairly expensive party, but they may not have all the initial upfront investment, in order finance such an event.Sound familiar?
Especially after they price, local hotel accommodations,(at a really posh local hotel), and they price all the necessary, outrageously expensive conventional advertising and PR involved.
Plus they have to meet a minimum dollar (beverage sales) requirement, if they expect to include an open bar as part of the nights festivities.
In a sense, the DJ is actually working in reverse!Huh? Meaning, the sooner they can find a way, for both the hotel and open bar facilitator to earn a substantial profit, the easier it will be for them to get the other marketing/PR pieces to fall into place.
Effective Lead Generation Should Always Be Near The Top Of Your List!
Just depending on who the DJ’s actual-local- target market demographic is. (Rest assured,) there are a ton of other, non directly competitive, local small business owners, and or service providers.
Who would love the opportunity, to get some of their best market tested offers, in front of this fairly large pool of potential future prospects and customers.
For ex; suppose a local retail appliance owner, decides, both the current and future long term, lifetime customer value, of these individuals, is more than worth pursuing.
So they’re more than happy, to invest (upfront) in the DJ’s vision, for a one night event, full of music, dancing, drinking and all out partying, to the early morning hours of the night!
So here’s what (both) the DJ, along with the financial backing of the extremely marketing savvy appliance dealer, are initially proposing.
Becoming An Entrepreneur Means Developing The Ability To Sell Your Visions Of The Future!(And Beyond!)
Since the DJ is in charge of finding a suitable location, and the on and offline marketing and PR components of the venture. The extremely marketing savvy appliance dealer, will initially pay for the cost of the room.
And if the DJ has any liquid capital, (both) them and the appliance dealer, will pay the open bar providers, minimum beverage sales requirement up front in cash, and revenue split the actual beverage sales for the night, at the end of the event.
Be Darn Sure You’re Not Neglecting The Back End Of Your Business And Or Service!
And basically, here’s how it will play out. At the end of the night, the beverage provider, gets an additional 50% of any generated beverage sales revenue.
And here’s how the remaining 50%, of the events beverage sales revenue will be distributed. First and foremost, the appliance dealer will be fully reimbursed the amount they initially put up to rent the room for the DJ!
And then, they recover their portion of the cost to pay the beverage provider’s upfront, minimum beverage sales requirement.
Just Remember Nothings Set In Stone! (It Can All Be Successfully Negotiated!)
And what’s left, (if there is) anything left, they now split with the DJ. 50/50.(See how this type of arrangement might work, hypothetically speaking.)
Great, because this is how being an entrepreneur definitely means seeing the big picture, and not just a snap shot of events!Don’t you agree? Now as is customary during this part of our show.

We both know it to be tru Chery!
Winging may work for a little with your hobby, but that type of

Excellent analogy. I think one of the biggest challenges facing most Entrepreneurs is focusing on the urgent instead of the important and that makes it very difficult to step back and see the big picture. It is in the important stuff that we find the answer to the question – why am I doing this and what do I want to achieve. Thanks for another insightful message Mark!

Thanks (as always!) for your extremely kind words M!
Actually for me, I would have to say, I far too often
get caught up in dwelling on the short term!LOL!
And it adds to my tunnel vision mentality. When clearly, what’s far more
important is the long term!
It’s a constant struggle, and I do try not to constantly give in to
the obvious short term thinking! It’s ongoing though.
Thanks (as always) for bringing some excellent food for thought
to the table!

Hey Mark,
The better these everyday photos, the better we can share the passions, emotions, and simple details of our lives. And the pros we interviewed all agree that taking more engaging day-to-day snapshots improves their professional images, too.
For many of us, our best snapshots can feel like photographic gifts of fate. But not for these pros. More often than not, they bring the same focus and planning to snap-shooting that they bring to their day jobs. Thanks for your continuous support.
