Once they start investing their hard earned money and other extremely limited resources, into purchasing any type of (so called) compiled lists, (of any kind).

So you purchase a small (minimum quantity list) of -say- 2,500 small business owners and or service providers, or house wives, supposedly interested in subject X!(Which just happens to be your area of expertise!
Meanwhile, your extremely savvy competitor, has over time, created an opt in email/mobile marketing list of 2,501 subscribers. Watch how things play out from here!

So you snail mail your (hopefully) market tested 2,500 post cards to your carefully compiled list of total strangers, for the very first time!
