So Why Don’t Successful Entrepreneurs Ever Work On This Particular Day?

(And Why You Definitely Shouldn’t Ever Plan Working On It Either!)

So you are most definitely working hard, to achieve (both) your short and long term goals, correct?

And since you are an extremely dedicated entrepreneur, you already know, recognize and accept the fact, for you, there really is no such thing as a holiday per se, right?

Meaning, even though (barring) any type of religious commitments you may have.

Every day is virtually just another day (opportunity) for you to potentially serve, your hopefully growing customer/client base, right?

Glad to hear that, but I must ask you, is there any one particular day of the week, you never ever plan on working on? I sincerely hope so!

And just so you know, this particular day, has absolutely nothing to do with any particular religion and or religious affiliations of any kind!

Even so, by attempting to work on this particular day, can and definitely will, say an awful lot, about your future entrepreneurial success, and or ultimate failure! Is that not interesting?

So What Is This Particular Day No Successful Entrepreneur And Or Aspiring Entrepreneur Should Ever Plan On Working On?

First of all, as was previously mentioned, there is absolutely no religious connotations, and overtones here! But still,  you’re definitely an entrepreneur on a mission, right?

You, nor I, or any aspiring entrepreneurscan actually afford to work, nor more make any type of serious plans, revolving around this particular day.

Because to do so, would potentially jeopardize, all you’ve worked to achieve thus far, and what you genuinely hope to achieve going forward!

So by now you’re literally chomping at the bit, right? Which day am I referring to already? My friend, it’s non other than someday!

Because, maybe you haven’t noticed, someday never comes!Ever!

Serious Entrepreneurs Aren’t Waiting Around For Someday!(Right?)

Don’t you agree? Ladies & gentlemen, if doing something worthwhile, revolves around your someday train arriving! Newsflash, you may as well pack it in now and move on.

One of the most dangerous and potentially destructive courses of action, any serious entrepreneur can embark on!

Sure, on paper, it not only seems noble, but semi logical, to project forward, waiting to act on this mythical “day.”But the reality of doing so is much different! Because, if you’re waiting for someday, when the kids are grown!”

Or when you pay off your home, or once you retire or graduate from college, graduate school, law, medical and or dental school etc.

Or once their divorce is final or they sell their home or business, or once they buy their unwanted partner(s) out etc!

Or once they finish learning the WordPress platform, or they master Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising concepts etc.Or once they finally understand the basics of opt in email marketing better etc!

Or once your blank gets married! Or perhaps, once you settle your law suit or retire or get your GED, or once you finally do X, Y or Z! (Yea right!)

Becoming An Entrepreneur Is About What You’re Willing To Do Now! (Not Later!)

Or once you lose the last twenty pounds or this that and the other! Ladies & gentlemen, do you (unfortunately) see an emerging, life long pattern here? Good!

So do you agree, it’s incredibly dangerous, for any serious ( and or) aspiring entrepreneurs, (such as yourself) to be waiting and or planning, around, what they may or may not do, someday! Great! Me too!

  1. Hi, Mark

Great Post! Soo true, success in entrepreneurship is all about what one is willing to do, and follow up your passion. Despite being afraid of failure.

  2. Hey Mark,

You really got me here LOL

I never thought of “Some day” to be the culprit.

If we want to get some where we have to start now!

I do admit that I have those days where I’m the king of procrastination. As a result I don’t get nothing done. Sadly, many people fall victim to “some day”. Victim may not be good word choice because we all have the choice to start now or wait later.

I think for the most part, people are afraid of making huge mistakes or just don’t want to waste time and money just in case they “fail”. But as John C. Maxwell said in quite a few of his books you want to fail your way to success. That’s the major way to learn.

Thanks for sharing this post Mark! Have a good one!

  3. Hi Mark,

Awesome post! For me, it’s Now or never. Only the moment exists. Only the present. So use that gift. Called the present. Because it is a present lol 😉 Super clever title and post. I found my freedom by not doing the someday thing. I just built my life on being free, and followed intuitive nudges, took time off, had fun working, and here I am. Thanks for sharing!

  4. You pulled me right in with that one Mark! Absolutely agree, “someday” is a dangerous word no matter what business you’re in, followed closely by the phrase “I’ll get to it tomorrow.” Thanks for the reminder!

  6. Hey Mark,

Everyone is different with his/her own perspectives about working. A few people like to work even the worst situations whereas others like to wait for the somebody.

To become an entrepreneur, you should always get ready to face the challenges. The time span may vary from person to person.
Not working isn’t an option for any entrepreneur.

    Thanks for this article.

  7. Hi Mark,

Time waits for no one and we cannot wait for that “someday” – instead to be a successful entrepreneur we must make things happen every day. It can me a small task but at least it is a stepping stone. We have to work smart to reach whatever goal we set out to reach.

And yes, give ourselves a day off. If not, we will be experiencing overwhelm ….I know, been there done that and it has cost me time and money in my own business. So folks heed this advice!
