So “how” much would or do you attribute your current progress (and or) lack thereof, to your critical thinking skills?
Word to the wise, you should be allotting an awful lot to it, because (whether) you wanna accept the reality of the situation or not.
The way you and I habitually think (good, bad) and or otherwise ,is the real reasons (you and I) are exactly where we are right now.
And going forward, unless or until you/we sort of develop a “new think” (perspective) if you prefer, virtually nothing or very little will ever change.
In terms of you and I consistently moving towards our stated goals.Case in point:Ever heard the saying, little hinges swing (control) really big doors!
And the doors we’re referring to BTW, are the enormous (above and below the surface) of currently untapped entrepreneurial opportunities!(It’s all simply a matter of your overall perspective. 😎 )
And as you learn to drill down (just a bit) below what would sometimes appear to be temporary adversity. It’s actually a well greased gateway to a potentially profitable long term entrepreneurial opportunity or two!
But without the proper “mindset”, you may just get temporarily sidetracked into only seeing (and therefore) only concentrating on the adversity side of things and not see the long term potential entrepreneurial side instead!
So “How” Exactly Do Your Extremely Important Critical Thinking Skills Swing Open Big Doors Of Long Term Opportunities?
Here’s a really simple, (yet unfortunately) all too common example of “how” a certain percentage (of otherwise) extremely savvy entrepreneurs, let temporary adversity drive and steer their decisions, instead of their all important critical thinking skills.
Let’s say you run a fairly popular and successful local offline, (you fill in the blank.)
You’re not currently franchised, and you have no immediate long term plans of trying to do so! You have both full and part time employees, a book keeper and you somehow manage to squeeze in (at least ten days), not all at once mind you, for some type of vacation every year!
You’ve got a mobile responsive WordPress website. And after paying a few dollars for some rather high priced hourly Coaching, you’re seriously considering adding an ongoing blogging component marketing strategy to the mix, to help with your organic (free) targeted traffic generating efforts!
So for this particular hypothetical marketing example, let’s say you run a Mom & Pop (local) family style restaurant. And even though I’m going to use a paid email service provider in this particular example, you may well decide to go mobile!
Either or works! Just so you know, it’s a well known fact, that on average, your mobile text message is typically opened within three short minutes of being sent! Not necessarily the case with good ole fashion (tried and true) email marketing. 😎
So you may wanna seriously consider the possibilities of some form of mobile marketing for your business or service!
Your Long Term Success Desperately Depends On Your Short Term Critical Thinking Skills!
So here you are faced with yet another (potentially) crucial decision, that (just depending) on whatever you ultimately decide to do, could and more than likely will, have some serious long term repercussions! For many years to come.
Here’s the deal, your two year lease is about to expire and you’ve already been informed (through a letter) from the landlord, your monthly lease payment is going up! (No real surprise there! 😎 )
And your extremely trusted Insurance agent/CPA of the last 13 plus years, (who also just happens to be your best friend since college!)has also recently informed you, that with the birth of your third child a few years back, you definitely need to upgrade your standard liability Insurance coverage!
Just so some overly aggressive patron and or employee doesn’t sue you and force you into bankruptcy, trying to properly defend yourself!
Now then, with all that going on and one kid just about to enter a four year state college in the next 24 months! You’re staring at this additional ($19.95) per month expense to begin with, for this paid autoresponder service!(That your rather expensive Internet marketing Coach says you definitely need! 😎 )
And to date, you’ve only got a paltry 73 opt in subscribers! So it’s not like if you decide to “cancel” your service now, you won’t be jeopardizing a whole lot! Right?
And that’s hardly a massive list at this point! And besides, you constantly tell yourself, on average, only about 5-15% ever bother opening, letting alone clicking on any of your links anyway! So “what’s” the big deal?
Don’t Let Your Short Term Situations Dictate Your Long Term Decision Making!
Plus, you’ve recently come to realize, that once your opt in subscriber base gets to 500, (if it ever does!), then starting the very next month (your very next billing cycle), your new monthly rate is now $29.95!
(Where as prior to reaching 500 opt in subscribers, your monthly rate was $19.95, or $239.40 per year. ($19.95 x 12 =$239.40 per year.) Unless you decided to make one annual payment instead and save roughly 20%!)
And the worst part is, you just added an additional $120 dollars more cost per year to your yearly expenses, and you’ve got virtually little or nothing more to show for it! Right? Dead wrong!
Entrepreneur, here’s where and “how” your long term critical thinking skills have to be the dominant thoughts! First of all, let’s say you send a text to your list of say 371 mobile subscribers.(And remember, the actual number here is irrelevant, it’s the overall concept that’s important!)
And let’s say it’s early Tuesday morning, and Tuesdays, are traditionally one of your slowest days of the week!Especially during the summer!
Use Your Cutting Edge Technology To Give Your Business Or Service A Major Advantage!
And you inform them, starting from 8 am Tuesday morning until 4 pm only!Every patron that brings a guest 18 & over automatically gets a $25 dollar gas card courtesy of “Joe’s Appliance Center!“(And or local company X!)
And you just provide your affiliate link to Joe’s Appliance Center, and once they opt into Joe’s opt in email list, their informed they’ll also automatically get a special, and extremely time sensitive, VIP “new customer only” discount coupon good for 35% off their first three (or X number of purchases!)
Here’s the other critically important thing ,your paid autoresponder service provides key analytic data, like “who” opened your email messages (and if) they bothered to click on any links! And “who” didn’t!
So you can immediately resend the ones that opened your message, a special “bribery thank you gift”, email and or text message just for doing so!And they can and probably will forward your email (and or) text to friends and family in order to brag about their good fortune! 😎
If It Really Averages Out To Literally Pennies On The Dollar (Then It Definitely Makes Sense To Do It!)
“What’s” that potential capability really worth to your bottom line long term? And can you really reach that many people, that quickly for just (either) $19.95 per month and or $29.95 per month?
Can you quickly segment your buyers and or prospects (leads) into separate lists and contact each of them as often as you like, for just $19.95 and or $29.95 per month? No way!
Can a snail mail recipient (immediately be removed, (unsubscribe) from your direct mail list, without calling and or writing you, informing you to do so?Nope!
Strategic Critical Thinking Will Definitely Lead To The Right Long Term Decisions!
Here’s the point,in the immediate short term you may well save a measly $19.95 and or $29.95 ( or X) per month!
But long term, can you really put a price tag on the potential long term marketing untapped opportunities and or possibilities, from having complete access to the right kind of extremely affordable technology, and knowing “how to” use it!
Can you really put a potential price tag on what having access to that type of technology, can really have on your bottom line? Probably not!
So hopefully, you can see “why” and “how” it’s extremely important to develop the right critical thinking skills! Correct?

Mark Newsome recently posted…Five Potentially Profitable Reasons Why Your Small Business Definitely Needs A Paid Email Service Provider!Part Two
Hi Mark,
I had to nod my head all the way through this post. When I had my off line business, I did something similar, but it was before online and mobile marketing. It was done by snail mail, with the same concept. I partnered with another business in town. We cross promoted each other. I knew my slow days, and they were the same as the other business. So we got together and figured out some incentives.
The store was a frequently visited antique one that had been there for years. I was the new kid on the block. So I offered a free service to anyone in that store for purchasing anything over $50. In turn, they offered a Coupon for their store if someone came to me and spent x amount of money.
We posted this all over town, put it in the local newspaper, and set our snail mail to our customers. Win Win! We both prospered.
Now…take this online. Imagine the bigger numbers we can connect with when doing this. It is pretty simple, but one must have the mindset of cross promotion. That is always a winner. The people who don’t think like this and are of the mindset that they don’t want to “share” will be stagnant.
Great points!
