Can You Really Learn A Powerful Lesson About Building Relationships Just From Watching Tuesday Night Fights?

Do you remember the old USA network’s sports TV show Tuesday night fights? It basically aired from 1982-1997. You probably had no idea that a sports show, that featured weekly boxing matches, could teach you some extremely powerful lessons about building relationships.

Believe it or not it’s true. Tuesday night fights was hosted by former world champ Sean “O’Grady and Al Albert. Each week they showcased various fighters, from all the different weight classes.

One week it was the light weights and the next week it was the heavy weights.

Tuesday Night Fights Offered Some Powerful Insights Into Building Relationships!

Tuesday night fights offered some really creative segments to their programming. For instance; they had one segment called “Up & coming.” These were basically young fighters ‘who” were just starting out, and both the networks and the promoters felt these fighters were worth keeping an eye on. Of course, ultimately anywhere from 70-90% of them never ever really panned out. Still it was a nice way of them showcasing different fighters, in different stages of their careers.

Another programming segment they had was called “Just For Starters.” And it adequately demonstrates an incredibly powerful lesson in building relationships.

For ex; the ‘Just for starters” segment, would feature young fighters, that showed potential and they would be featured on the under card, and their fights would only be four rounders.

And those that consistently performed well, would be featured again on future under cards, in non title fights, that go eight rounds. There next level would be ten round non title fights, and ultimately culminating in fifteen round championship fights.

Which of course, were eventually scaled back to twelve rounds and more than likely would be seen on other premium channels like HBO or Showtime.

How Building Relationships Is A Lot Like A Successful Fighters Career!

What would happen if you tried to run a full fledged 26 mile marathon, without first building up your endurance? You got that right! Just like a successful boxing promoter wouldn’t take a brand new (with virtually) no professional experience fighter, and allow them to fight a ten round fight!

No way. Instead, they’d probably go the “Just for starters” route. by now your scratching your head saying, “so what and “how” does this relate to building relationships?

The moral is there entrepreneur, but you gotta look a little deeper in order to find it! Basically, here’s the gist of it. Far too many times, a complete novice (aka) newbie online marketer, tries to contact  very successful six, seven or eight figure online earners!

The analogy being this, ‘how” can any semi realistic online marketer (with virtually) no previous experience, expect  to joint venture (JV) with an experienced marketer, that’s already at the top of the food chain!

That’s the equivalent of stepping into a twelve round championship fight, straight out of the Olympics! Fat chance! No instead, if you really want to incrementally get the attention of a successful six, seven or eight figure earner.

Try first, consistently commenting on their blogs that are relevant to your niche. Then (if they) have a forum, get active in it! Meaning- start consistently providing value to their forum members. Of course (where ever it makes economical sense), invest in their products and services.

And after you’ve built up a certain amount of credibility, then you can reach out and ask to be a featured guest blogger, then perhaps an interview etc. But (hopefully) you can see “how” one smaller less significant (positive) incremental action, builds on another?

Just like those “up & coming” fighters. If so, then now you definitely understand and appreciate “how” building relationships, is a lot like young fighters featured on Tuesday night fights.Anything worth doing, takes time, does it not? Any questions?
