Who isn’t up to “discover” a potentially profitable business growth strategy? Which if nothing else can be inexpensively tested. And even if it doesn’t turn out to be or become a blockbuster long term money maker.
You or your major competitors will have moved off center in a major way. And you will have done so for literally pennies on the dollar. And not many profit seeking entrepreneurs can say that.
In fact as you take a much closer look at the much you allocate for your traditional advertising or promoting. You’ll probably realize you can convert those same dollars or resources into non traditional marketing opportunities and previously untapped marketing possibilities. Some of which are siting right under you or your major competitors noses. Have a closer look and see for yourself, fair enough?
Sometimes Simple Strategic Marketing Plans Work Best! (Especially Over The Long Haul!)
Case in point. a while back when still had a paid subscription to HBO (Home Box Office) movie channel. They featured a championship boxing match. And a major world recognized hotel chain paid one of the fighters in the main event.(get this.) A staggering $250,000 to stencil the the name of their hotel on the fighters back.
And when he initially he removed his robe. And the cameras and the commentators pointed out the major hotel chain paying him such a large amount to in essence be a temporary billboard for them.
the stencil was still dry and extremely easy to read. And since millions were watching the broadcast via HBO. Their rather large investment seemed to make sense. However, by round five. And as the fighter begin to sweat more and more. The stencil had gradually turned into an unreadable mass.
And if you hadn’t tune in from the very beginning of the fight. You literally had no idea whatsoever was originally written on the fighters back. So if you or your major competitors do the math.
Their $250,000 investment (with diminishing returns!) works out to be about $50,000 dollars per round. Actually higher. Because by the end of round three the once legible stencil was already becoming unreadable.
So the $64,000 dollar quickly becomes. Given the opportunity entrepreneur. Do you honestly believe you could have honestly generated far better results, with a much smaller budget? (I know I do.)
Entrepreneur Just Because You Can Spend Or Waste A Ton Of Money On Outrageously Expensive Traditional Advertising Or Promotional Campaigns! (Doesn’t Mean You Should!)
Strictly for hypothetical marketing illustration purposes only. Let’s say you and I are temporarily put in charge of allocating up to $250,000 dollars. In order to generate as much gross front and long term back profits as possible.
Let’s see “how” our hypothetical marketing/promotional strategies and tactics stack up against the stencil strategy. First and foremost. Since even though it’s not readily apparent to the HBO TV audience.
There are probably seven or eight pre main event fights. But only three make the main event. So in order to fill the stadium as much as possible. Outrageously large signs will be strategically placed all over the Las Vegas strip.
These signs will encourage local boxing fans to purchase tickets asap. Because doing so allows them to enter a free drawing for a chance to win two Super Bowl tickets to the following years game.
Plus two 1st class round trip tickets which cover air fare. And two rooms at a four or five star hotel for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday game day. This way tons of local fight fans rush to buy tickets to the local fight card.
(And speaking of winning Super Bowl Tickets. Two extremely lucky winners will be given access to the ultimate MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the game. And they get five minutes to receive two official jerseys from the winning team. Plus caps and the MVP player of the game will personally autograph their ball as well. Imagine the really cool memories a simple gesture like that will generate for the rest of their lives.)
And as they enter the stadium to attend the fight. They’ll be handed an extremely time sensitive, two sided discount card.
There’s Always An Extremely Valid Reason To Build Your Own Opt In Email List! (Or Offline Database!)
All over the stadium the live crowd will see signs directing them to enter a free drawing for their chance to win over $100,000 or X amount of dollars in instant free prizes.
Things like a 75 in state of the art flat screen TV. All the winners pays is the 1st class shipping charges. Or a $2,000 dollar shopping spree to some popular retailers.
They can will a three year subscription to either Hulu or Netflix. (And if they already have a paid subscription to either service. Their subscription will be credited.
They can also win a $500 dollar credit to from a national pizza chain. The point being this really cool gifts will definitely get people constantly texting, talking and posting some really cool pictures and videos all over social media, right?
