Being Your own Boss: Why Doing So Definitely Gives The Ultimate Flexibility! Part Two
Hopefully you’re not against the idea of being your own boss, right? Think of the long term flexibility it clearly provides. You can and definitely should start part time. (Provided it makes economic sense to do so.) You don’t have or need to dive in to the deep end of the pool right out of the gate. (Meaning go into massive front end debt.)
If you plan on doing anything sustainable online. You should have your own self hosted WordPress blog to begin with. This way you’re not at the total mercy of other online marketers. (In terms of just being a glorified affiliate.)
Your own self hosted blog allows you to add your very own customized sign up form(s.) This way you can induce a percentage of your ideal visitors to join your customer centric opt in email list.
And if you want. You can add either your high end affiliate products or services link. As well as direct links to your current or future products or services. Be they digital or physical.
How’s that for maximum marketing and editorial flexibility?
Direct Email Marketing Will Definitely Play A Major Role In Leveraging Both Your Time And Reach!
Let’s say you’re currently working at least 40 hours per week. Each time you work an additional 10 hours per week. (In America anyway!) Those additional 10 or X amount of hours are billed to your employer at time and a half, right?
But consider this. (Granted, this strictly hypothetical marketing illustration. Will definitely take quite a bit of effort before it’s a reliable bankable process.)
But you could create a 3-7 video lesson series. Where you basically narrate it via Power Point. (In case like a ton of other aspiring online marketers. You prefer not to actually appear in front of the camera. 😀 )
And at or somewhere near the end of the series. You either offer your own semi low cost introductory product or service. Or you offer a low cost affiliate product or service.
If you create the video series via your Youtube channel. And your “CTA” (Call To Action) near the end of each video directs your audience to your free list building lead magnet/landing page.
Then your series can be used strictly for strategic list building purposes. Again, this is initially on a part time basis. While you continually get your feet wet. While you continuously develop your bankable skills.
What’s Your Current Full Or Part Time Employers Doing To Help You Become Self Employed?
Let’s say you start your own self hosted WordPress blog. But stumble a little bit right out of the gate. (Which we pretty much all have or did. If we’re gonna be brutally honest here! 😀 ) Remember, you’re initially going at this part time. Because you’re currently working full or part time. Or both.
And your very first four week month. Instead of publishing at least one extremely helpful blog post per week. You’re only able to publish three or even less.
You could still do the following three things. At a bare bones minimum of activity.
1.) First: Be sure and send your opt in email subscribers, (provided of course you’ve started building your list!) Or you at least have your free or paid email service provider properly set up. If so, send your opt in subscribers, a non pre written broadcast message.
With a link to each post per week.
2.) Second: The one week or weeks you don’t or can’t publish any blog posts. Send your list, no matter what size it currently is. Ask your subscribers “what” is their number one concern or challenge?
3.) Three: and start creating helpful value driven content around that particular subject matter. And offer paid solutions. Either via zoom, email support only.
Or via the telephone and email. (The more one on one access they want. The higher their investment.)

Don’t Under Estimate The Potential For Yo To Offer Paid Services Of Some Kind!
Most markets, (probably including yours!) Offers the opportunity to provide some type of one on one paid assistance to your ideal prospects.
Without the need to initially use paid ads. Instead ethically bribe your ideal prospects onto your list. Using a free lead magnet of some kind.
And on the back end of your long term follow up, email drip campaign. Offer a semi lower front end paid service they desire. Then you can start slowly scaling your exposure via paid ad campaigns.
These are just a few simple examples. Of how being your own boss. Even if you’re initially starting off part time. Still gives you a ton of flexibility? Don’t you agree? I sincerely hope so.
