So hopefully after reading and re-reading part one of this ongoing series. You now have a much deeper understanding and appreciation. For why, especially in the initial beginning of your entrepreneurial journey.
You may constantly need to pivot.Right? And by constantly learning ‘how to” do so. You or your major competitors, open the door awfully wide.And dramatically increase your long term chances for success. And this is definitely what you want, is it not? Absolutely.
Because there’s definitely enough built in obstacles as of right now.Correct? So you don’t need to add to your challenges, right? Agreed. However, being or remaining mentally inflexible. Can and often does, start a negative chain reaction of events.
And sometimes, the entrepreneurs involved.Never fully recover financially. So the ultimate purpose of the particular series of posts. Is to help you remain out of those types of situations. Okay? great. So are you finally ready to proceed?
Watch What Starts To Your Viable Marketing Or Promotional Options As You Start To Pivot!
Case in point. As you recall in part one. Unfortunately, a ton of formerly, self employed full time speakers, (from literally) all over the world. In just a matter of weeks. Saw their incomes literally snatched away from them. And their speaking careers, temporarily put on hold. Correct?
Because they temporarily can’t travel by airplane. And since the major four & five star, luxury hotels they’re routinely accustomed to staying in. Are temporarily shutdown as well.
And up to this point in their speaking career. They had absolutely no major concerns, things would go south, as quickly and dramatically as they have.Correct?
So they didn’t expect to find themselves, constantly stressing, tossing and turning. Unable to sleep.Wondering ‘how” even if they haven’t quite yet, maxed out, any or all of their credit cards yet.
Or they haven’t quite burned through all of their readily available cash yet. If things don’t turn around dramatically, fairly quickly. Their speaking careers, (as they previously) knew them anyway. And their personal lives.
Whether they’re single, happily married. Or currently trying to make the best of things, with their long time, live in significant other etc.Will never be quite the same. Agreed?
So How Does Learning How To Strategically Pivot Play Into Their Long term Plans?
Great question. First of all. Can we be brutally honest here? Thanks. A staggering 95-98% of the men & women, who out of financial necessity. Are attempting to turn to the Internet.
In order to try and, (either) rescue or start, (literally from scratch!) A whole new career.With absolutely no previous, practical experience of any kind. They are going to fall flat as three day old beer left out of the frig. Huh?
Meaning: There is absolutely no way, the vast majority of them. Will be able to learn, the basic fundamentals, of Internet marketing. In time to cover next months round of bills. Unfortunately the ongoing learning curve, is incredibly steep and long.
You’re just gonna have to trust me on this one. Even with said. Let’s suppose. After listening to some of the online Internet marketing gurus or guruettes. They decide to have my expert WordPress, coach, mentor and friend.
The one and only “Jupiter” Jim Landers, build them, a state of the art WordPress website or blog. Or both. Anyway. Now they also need to learn ‘how to” consistently drive, laser targeted traffic to their site, right? Yep.
Which means, they’ll now be constantly using, some free and paid traffic generation strategies. But wait a second. They just invested, literally thousands of dollars, (they really don’t have right! Correct?
And now they’re also trying to use some paid traffic generation strategies, to quickly drive targeted eyeballs to their site.
The More You Learn And Grow! (The More You Definitely Need To Learn In Order To Continue To Grow!)
Well. Unfortunately, there’s some good and bad news.Say what? the really good news is. You’ve finally taken the bull by the horn and pro-actively gotten online. Big congrats.
The potentially bad news is. You are at best, a gloried, green as grass newbie. And you’re definitely gonna need, a reputable, state of the art, paid email service provider. More affectionately referred to as an autoresponder. Say what?
So you can start capturing at least some of your website or blog visitors email address. Huh? Just in case no one mentioned it. On average, a staggering 98-99% of your sites first time visitors. Aren’t initially there to buy anything. Huh?
Yeah. They’ll definitely need to get to know, lie and trust you first. Before they whip out their credit cards.
(Hint: This is ‘why” you’ll need to invest in a reputable, state of the art, paid email service provider. Which also provides excellent customer service as well. But in the meantime. Even though, officially you’re online. You won’t be generating anywhere near a full time income. Until you develop some bankable skills.
So until then. How does, a former, full time public speaker. replace their multi six figure a year income.While they’re learning Internet marketing. Without having to file for bankruptcy protection.
Since The Technology Is Definitely Available To You! (Why Are You So Hesitate To Utilize It!)
Well, as previously mentioned in part one. Try this on, as some form of temporary solution. Since you temporarily can’t travel by airplane, right? And since the major four & five star hotels, are temporarily shutdown as well. Correct?
How about if you started doing some guest podcasting appearances. Until things got back to normal. Say what? As a potential guest. You literally need very little prep time. Just invest in a relatively inexpensive headset. Which also has a microphone.
And share your passion with a laser targeted audience. For anywhere from 25-60 minutes. Drive targeted traffic to your site. And either steadily build your opt in email/mobile marketing list, for both current and future sales down the road.
And let’s say, after you or your new or old booking agent, strategically taps your current and future network. You’re able to sat appearing as a guest, on 1-3 semi to flat out major podcast-er-s shows per week.
And once of if things pick back up with your old speaking opportunities.You can start traveling and staying major luxury hotels again. At least once per week.
And doing some of your guest podcasting, on the smaller shows, while you’re in your hotel room. Waiting to speak to a live audience of X.
Are These Pivots For Everybody? (Absolutely Not!)
That said. Unfortunately. You already know going in. Some previously full time speakers. For whatever reasons. Are simply not going to embrace, this brand new, extremely viable marketing option.Right?
And truth told. There’s simply no way, for it, (guest podcasting) to be or become right and suitable for everyone.Right? No way. But without question. For the right individuals. Under the right circumstances. It’s an extremely viable marketing/promotional solution.Would you not agree?
For those and so many other reasons. This is “why” learning “how to” strategically pivot, dramatically increases your long term chances for success.Don’t you agree?
