Next, he turns his blog posts, into a podcast.And this is the real long term marketing/promotional brilliance of his strategy. He creates a podcast out his blog posts. Say what?
Then he immediately uploads these podcasts, to at least, three of the top podcasting platforms currently on the planet.
So needless to say. While you and I,are only relying on, trying to rank in the search engine and social media jungle. And our own, opt in email list.
Ole James, (whose clearly) as marketing clever as a fox. He steadily grows his audience, (for free) mind you. And constantly gets exposed, to new, potential first time readers, listeners, VIP opt in email subscribers and RRS feed (Really Simple Syndication) subscribers as well.You go cat!
As well as some potential first time customers, and or brand new, first time, paid one on one, consulting customers. Not to mention, potential joint venture (JV) and or cross promotional partners too.
All because, he’s willing and able, to invest an additional two hours, on the initial front end of his (steadily growing) sales funnel.(I told ya the cat has some major league skills, didn’t I!)

My content strategy has shifted a lot since I’ve been away and I really think this is the best way to do it now.
Pushing one big piece of content each week, marketing it heavily, and distributing it widely. Giving an option for people to consume in whatever way they’d like. Then focusing my extra energy on creating a larger volume of smaller pieces of content throughout the week – Quora answers, social media posts, YouTube videos, etc.
The people who prefer to read aren’t often the people who prefer to listen, and the audience on SlideShare isn’t always looking for an enormous blog post to read.
Even for people who do visit my blog, by including the audio, I get an opportunity for people to consume more of the content when they otherwise may not have. Audio is not skimmed as easily, so I get to deliver my full message. The SlideShare at the end also helps to reinforce my main points and help them stick.
Not many people are doing this now but I predict that before too long, something like this will become more commonplace. It’s too valuable to pass up, especially if you’re already investing a ton of time putting out exceptional content. If you can spend 20% more time and get significantly more distribution, that is time very well spent!

And I really like your point, about audio not
being as easy to merely skim, the same
way you can a blog post or anything written for that matter.
And you’re so right, about creating and delivering content,
in the form your audience is already eagerly consuming.
Because trying to convert them from consuming content in their preferred form,
consuming it, in ours,means you’re constantly swimming up stream.
And more than likely, they’ll just go find another reputable source,
who creates content in their preferred form.
And there’s simply no question, your
multi faceted marketing approach, will increase your
overall marketing exposure exponentially.

You’re right and honestly there’s so much great content online that if it is a hassle to consume, someone else will be able to solve the visitor’s problem in their preferred manner. Comparing it to swimming upstream is exactly right.
I’ve noticed this with my own behavior as well. I vastly prefer audiobooks to any other format and while I’ll never avoid reading a book I know is right for me, it seems like these keep getting pushed back – consumed later, rather than now. Because it’s not as convenient for me.
When possible I try not to change people’s behavior – that is insanely hard. Instead I cater my offering to match the habits they’ve already established for themselves.
