So as you previously discovered in part one of this ongoing series, about how even though your (single location) local computer repair/consulting business, may currently be swamped with literally tons of extremely talented, hungry and highly motivated individuals!
And rest assured it most certainly is! With more certainly on the way! Even though your current (conventional), marketing budget, may (either) be extremely small and or practically zero!
Entrepreneur, as you also previously discovered in part one, you can and must make up for this constant overriding factor! Or at least try like all get out to, with “take no prisoners” type of “go the extra mile and a half” customer service, along with some outstanding products and services etc!
With the occasional industry innovation or two thrown in and every now and again (strictly) for good measure! 😎 You consistently do that, and you are definitely well on your way to closing the gap between you and some of your big buck major local competitors!
Sound like a plan? Great! Whatdoyasay, we get this party started! 😎
Just Because Your Conventional Marketing Budget Is Extremely Tight And Or Practically Zero Does That Mean You Still Can’t Make A Really Big Splash?
Okay, since you’re definitely not a (so called) miracle worker!Right? How are you supposed to consistently perform miracles when (truth told) your conventional marketing/advertising budget is practically zero and conventional advertising mediums are outrageously expensive?
Let’s take a look at a potential creative marketing instance or two. Shall we?First off: (as you also previously recall) from part one.
Inexpensively test “asking” each paying customer- no matter whether they are an all important “first time” and or extremely repeat customer!
Ask them to enter your ” Top Burning Question Of The Week” contest!Huh? Relax! You’re simply inexpensively testing this particular tactic, to see if it’s really worth pursuing further.
Anyway, create a really big sign and place it near your counter and or near your display area(s.) And make darn sure yo emphasize only your paying customers can enter!
And ask them to go to your mobile responsive WordPress blog, and enter their most burning computer repair/IT question of the week! And once a week you and or one of your best employee/associates will select that week’s winner, (and you’ll notify them by either email and or text message etc.)
And you’ll answer their burning question, by either creating a short 2-5 minute “how to” video and or create a blog post (or series) of blog posts and a series of podcasts dedicated to that particular question etc!
And each winner automatically wins 20-30% off their next computer repair/consulting session!
Plus, if you’re set up to, you’ll also include two or three really cool local vendors, “new customers only VIP discount coupons!”
Part Of An Effective Marketing Strategy Is To Consistently Compel Some Of Your Very Best Customers To Gladly Spread The Word!
So maybe you’ll offer a coupon from local bakery that’s specializes in some really good tasting exotic cupcakes and other extremely great tasting pastries!
And may be you’ll offer a coupon from an extremely popular women’s clothing boutique for the ladies! 😎 And the other might be an extremely time sensitive coupon from a really popular health food store just a few doors down! (That all can and definitely should be inexpensively tested and surveyed to your customers!)
But for everybody that bothered to (at least) submit a burning question of the week. In other words, all of the runner ups. Give them X number of days to come into your store and choose any one coupon of their choice!
And if they bring a friend, 18 & over, that’s not one of you current customers, give their friend one free local vendor coupon of their choice and one of your X% off “new customers only VIP discount coupons!”
Here’s the other way you will look to gain some much needed marketing exposure, on an extremely limited budget!
See how fast you can locate a non competing service related type of local vendor that publishes some type of periodic newsletter. And offer to become their resident “in house” expert.
And maybe once a month have a Q & A where yo demonstrate your company’s expertise by answering their customers IT/computer repair questions and offer their customers your” VIP new customer only”, first time purchase discounts! With no minimum purchase requirements!
That type of consistent activity should definitely help generate some on and offline viral social media buzz!Don’t you agree?great!
Note: If the newsletter (and or) online ezine happens to sell any type of paid advertisements! Offer one of your “VIP new customer only”, time sensitive discount coupons, and or one of your extremely popular specific services, if you have to at your actual cost, in order to inexpensively generate some brand new first time customers!
But let them offer your coupons to their customers as free bonus incentives worth X, for buying (either) a paid classified or paid display and or solo ad etc.
Entrepreneur, with just a few strategic tweaks here and there, that’s how you, (and or) some of major local competitors, can effectively market your business and or service, especially when your conventional marketing budget is practically zero!Any questions?
