(And “How” You Can Too!)
So has there ever been a time in your entrepreneurial small business journey, when you simply weren’t able to even consider attempting to implement any one particular marketing strategy, and or tactic simply because your current economics, (translated) you just didn’t have the readily available cash?
And you just couldn’t afford to speculate and be wrong.
Does that particular scenario sound all too frightengly familiar?
Yea, who hasn’t been there once or twice? Right?
But (entrepreneur) here’s the thing, while money may in fact be tight, at any given time, you can always readily rely on adding value more value to your customers or clients lives, as a form of investment currency, because doing so will definitely increase your overall, long term gross front or back end profits!
(In more ways than one!)
And the best part is, when you aggressively seek to make adding value to your customers/clients lives, your upfront out of pocket cost, can and often are kept to a bare bones minimum!Let the following hypothetical marketing examples serve as a spring board to some much deserved future gross profits!
So How Do Savvy Small Business Owners And Service Providers Use Adding Value To Their Customers Lives A Form Of Investment Currency To Help Grow Their Businesses?
(And More Importantly How Can You Do It Too?)
Before getting started, here’s a little interesting side note: Recently, some of my readers, (although) I’m not totally sure if they’re regulars or not!
But they asked in their comments, do any of my low cost lead generation strategies work for traditional Mom & Pop size service providers, as opposed to just traditional (regular) Mom & Pop brick and mortar small business owners?
Fair enough, although oddly, seeing how one of my most recent posts, (regarding) how some severely cash strapped small business owners, and or service providers, can avoid continuously struggling, simply by getting their major cash flow generating priorities in order.
That particular post, lays out some pretty detailed steps, of “how” an extremely savvy CPA, (aka) service firm, can and definitely should develop some sort of aggressive back end marketing strategy, so their business can steadily truly grow!
And stop struggling simply to make ends meet, or barely keep their head above water.
This post will again (attempt to) reveal “how” an extremely savvy, service based CPA firm, can or should combine some non traditional lead generation strategies, and some good old fashion, valued added base marketing tactics to the mix.
So they can and should quickly become a whole lot more profitable.Sound good?
Who Says You Can’t Or Shouldn’t Combine Valued Added Based Marketing Strategies And Effective Lead Generation Tactics?
First, let’s demonstrate “how” an extremely savvy CPA firm,(and or) any service based provider, that at least, (semi) understands effective lead generation, could leverage another local, non competitive small business owners customer base, so they dramatically lower their upfront, brand new customer cost, by as much as 75% of the outrageously expensive, traditional cost!
And simultaneously help the other semi cash starved small business owner systematically build some positive word of mouth & mouth buzz, while doing so.
Consistently Generating Positive Word Of Mouth And Mouse Is An Effective And Potentially Profitable Lead Generation Strategy And Or Tactic!
So let’s say there’s a local Mom & Pop corner store in the downtown area of your particular city/town etc; where several associates/employees of this up and coming CPA firm, and other local small business owners/service providers, and their employees/associates stop by, practically each morning.
Basically (Monday-Saturday) in order to grab their customary large cup of coffee or tea, bagels and or donuts etc.
And then again, sometimes for lunch, in order to grab a soda or sub sandwich of some kind.
And because the CPA firm owner is on a first name basis with the owners of the corner store, (after a while), here’s what they propose, to help them both make more money, for a whole lot less upfront cost.
Your Small Business Can Make Adding Value To Your Customers And Clients Lives An Incredibly Powerful Marketing Tool!
Your CPA offers to sponsor/finance a free drawing, once every quarter, (once every 90 days), where all the business owners/service providers, that frequent this Mom & Pop store, they can drop their business card in giant fish bowl or box, for a chance to win one free 10 lb bag of gourmet coffee, and a dozen bagels, and a dozen gourmet donuts, once a week, for the next twelve weeks, (next 90 days) courtesy of the corner store!
And this is an X dollar value!
In reality, the extremely savvy CPA firm, will simply foot the entire bill, and share the business card database with the corner store, which in all likelihood, won’t have any practical idea(s), “what” to do with these semi hot names after each 90 day period! 😀
Meaning, they probably won’t be doing any type of strategic-snail mail and or opt in email- and or text message follow ups with them!Right?
The marketing savvy CPA firm, on the other hand, will send each entrant a follow up courtesy post card, informing them to immediately head over to their mobile responsive WordPress blogs lead capture page, in order to claim their extremely valuable secondary prize!
Why Not Leverage Another Non Directly Competing Vendors Audience I Order To Lower Your Traditional Lead Generation Costs!
This way the businesses can grab their free 11 page special report, (and or) free 37 minute Q & A webinar recording, entitled, “Seven All Too Common Ways Small Business Owners Fail To Protect Themselves From Potentially Costly Lawsuits!”
That’s the inexpensive lead generation part, now let’s quickly turn your attention to value adding element of your long term marketing plans.
The CPA firm will also reach out to some of the smaller, local newspaper publishers, like the local Pennysavers etc.
And they will offer to provide two services, that can potentially help, (both) the newspaper and the CPA firm inexpensively grow their businesses, for literally pennies on the dollar!
Entrepreneur Effective Lead Generation Strategies Offer Many Unintended Benefits!
The first service they will offer to provide, (especially) around tax season each year! They will provide a weekly column called, (what else?) “Ask The Tax or Estate Planning Experts!”
Here the local readers are encouraged to ask their most burning questions, by sending them in via email, text and or phone call, and each week, the CPA firm will answer 3-5 of them in their weekly column!
The other potential benefit they will offer to provide, is a free 13 page special report entitled,“How Extremely Savvy Small Business Owners And Service Providers Can Stop The IRS From Legally Stealing Their Money! (Simply By Taking Advantage Of Three Little Known And Rarely Used Tax Reducing Strategies!”) In short, the Pennysaver will give away free, one of CPA’s best market tested lead generating special reports, as a free incentive bonus valued at X!
Every potential advertiser that spends at least X amount of dollars, will get the report free and or free DVD etc! That should add some real value to those potential advertisers lives, don’t you agree?
Why Not Use Some Inexpensive Non Traditional Lead Generation Strategies And Or Tactics To Semi Qualify Your Target Audience!
And it should definitely help the Pennysaver attract more advertising dollars, plus it’s an extremely effective way for the CPA firm to inexpensively lead generate, right?
So all in all, the advertisers get some really cool inside information, that definitely helps them become more successful sooner!
By discovering “how” they can legally keep more of their hard earned dollars! The local Pennysaver has just inexpensively found a proven strategy to help them better compete for local advertising dollars!
And the extremely marketing savvy CPA firm, (and or) service based provider X, has just discovered another inexpensive way to position themselves as one of the (local) go to experts, and inexpensively lead generate as well! Entrepreneur, can you find a loser in the mix? Me either!
Isn’t It Time Your Small Business And Or Service Use Some Non Traditional Lead Generation Strategies And Or Tactics To Start Out Promoting Your Major Competitors!

Hi Mark
The standout point in this post for me is this one:
“(Businesses) can avoid continuously struggling, simply by getting their major cash flow generating priorities in order.”
That’s it. Business owners can boost their cash flow by focusing more on leveraging existing assets (e.g., a clientele) in other firms, then form strategic alliances for mutual benefit. Big companies do it all the time, but for whatever reason small businesses drag the chain and tend to resist innovative strategies such as the ones you present on your blog.
In an internet-centric era, it’s encouraging to know that main street businesses can employ smart offline strategies like these – and make a killing.
Thanks again Mark – good stuff!

Much appreciated Kim!
And what you share is so true.BTW, I really like your way of describing
what far too many small business owners do, when it comes to being
strategically decisive.
As you put it, they tend to “drag the chain!”LOL!
And like you said, the big & boys & girls do it all the time!
Thanks for sharing some incredibly sound feedback!Much appreciated!
