Honestly, how many aspiring marketers do you currently know. Who for whatever reasons. Has had at least one of their social medium advertising accounts abruptly shutdown?
Believe it or not. It happens far more than you may wanna believe. Or how about this. You leave (what you believe to be!) a rather semi sexy comment on another marketer or (JV) Joint Venture partners youtube video. And moments later you discovered your comment (for whatever reasons) was removed altogether. Say what? Ever happen to you? Me too. (It totally sucks doesn’t it?)
But sadly “what” these other all too common occurrences shows you is. When it comes to pro-actively marketing on any social media platforms. You and I are only the glorified tenants. And the owner(s) are the landlords.
Meaning they’re ultimately in control. Which is “why” entrepreneur. You simply have to start embracing and consistently implementing some proven business marketing strategies or tactics. Otherwise you dramatically increase the odds of your Titanic getting sunk. Far sooner than later. Ouch…
Developing A Marketing Plan Which Is Specifically Tailored To Your Current Strengths And Weaknesses Is A Perfect Start!
Former boxing heavyweight great “Iron Mike Tyson has a famous saying about fighters “who” naively believe they’re totally prepared for the unknown inside a boxing ring. “Every fighter has a plan until they get it.” (Translated:)
Ask all of the aspiring entrepreneurs, (including!) but certainly not limited to some extremely well known six and seven figure earners. Who completely out of the blue had at least one or more of their social media advertising accounts abruptly shut down. And some of them have not only had at least one account temporarily shut down.
Others have freely admitted to (their literally thousands or hundreds of thousands of opt in email subscribers!) having at least one of their social media account permanently shut down. Ouch. So “what’s” the overall point you ask? Whenever you and I are not totally in control of any traffic you create or spend tons of money and dedicate specific resources to.
Guess what? Someone else just might decide for whatever reasons to pull the plug. On the other hand. suppose you now have a rather impressive 53,437 twitter followers. Very awesome. (Or “what” if your current twitter or Instagram following is twice that size?)
But if for whatever reasons twitter (or Instagram) decides you’ve violated one or more of their terms of agreement policies and they permanently shut down your account. (The exact same situation could potentially apply to your FB and Linkedin accounts BTW. Just saying.)
Entrepreneur (honestly!) where does or would this all too common predicament leave you? my guess is in a not so good place. Am I correct? I thought so.
Even More Reasons Why Extremely Savvy Marketers Such As Yourself Constantly Build Their Own On Or Offline Databases!
Which finally brings us full circle entrepreneur. No matter “how” you choose to slice it. One of your very best investments. (Aside from the constant amounts you’d better be consistently investing in some sort of long term personal development.)
On or offline you need to be steadily building you own database of both red or semi red hot prospects. And your paying customers. Say what? So online you definitely need your own reputable, paid email service provider.
As of right now. My current paid email service provider of choice is good ole Awber.com. (Two things. Yes that’s my affiliate link. And secondly there are certainly other paid options who offer far more fancy bells & whistles. (And an extremely steep learning curve to go with them.)
But you’ll definitely be extremely hard pressed to find very few paid email service providers who can and will match “Awebers” outstanding, (and did I also fail to mention) their award winning customer service care representatives.
They are definitely there to help you and I get the job done. (Please pardon my shameless plug. (A guy’s gotta pay the rent, right? Indeed) Anyway.
It Doesn’t Matter What Size Your Steadily Growing Opt In Email List Is! (As Long As They’re Responsive To Your Problem Solving Products And Services!)
Case in point. Let’s say over the last three and a half years you managed to grow your Instagram following to an impressive 53,237 followers.
But only five percent of them actually joined your opt in email list. (Which means your main (or only list!) currently has 2,661 subscribers. (53,237 x .05% = 2,661.)
But guess what? Now whenever you publish any fresh “how to” problem solving content to your state of the art WordPress blog. You don’t have to “pay to play” on the social media platforms.
And hope the boost gives you the overall reach you and your major competitors so desperately crave. And of course the worst case scenario. The social media platform goes out of business altogether.
I’s not like that hasn’t ever happened. Right? But again. “What” happens to your 400,000 or X number of followers when it does? (Give you a little hint. There was a rumor going round the “Titanic” couldn’t be sunk either. Just saying.)
Your Paid Email Service Provider Of Choice Allows You Or Your Major Competitors To Craft And Send Personalized Email Messages To Your List Of Subscribers As Often As You Want! (For Literally Pennies On The Dollar!)
Think about your many potential money making options. Through the strategic use of email marketing. To you have a closed to the general public sales event rapidly approaching. Rather than waste a ton of money on outrageously expensive, dismally performing traditional prime time local radio, local TV.
Or local full, half or quarter page ad campaigns. Instead only send an extremely time sensitive email message to those segmented subscribers.
Who initially checked a box on your lead capture form. And voluntarily asked to be notified whenever you’re promoting a “No Replays” webinar. Or maybe once every 90 days give or take. You or your major retail furniture concern competitors.
Hold a recently repossessed! And everything must go sales event. Again only available to your current VIP email or text message subscribers only. And you video tape parts of these quarter events.
You serve barbeque or smorgasbord type help yourself food display. Serve beverages. Obviously no alcoholic beverages of any kind. Doing a free drawing at or near the end of the event. And the first grand prize winner wins a state of the art 60 inch flat screen TV. Say what? The point is. Are you now starting to better appreciate. How these potentially profitable small business marketing strategies in general.
And market tested opt in email strategies and tactics in particular. Can and definitely will add nicely to your overall bottom line? Say yes. Good answer.
