They in all likelihood, have no previous knowledge of who you (we) are, the very first time they land on your main blog. So in essence, you two are complete strangers, agreed?

And before they can even get their bearings, you’ve got really cool techie stuff streaming, wow!

And over there you’ve got a ton of snippets of this and that and over here even more really cool techie stuff!

Translated, you’re literally (visually) throwing up all over them! My friend, their overwhelmed to say the least. Calm your site down! And simplify things just a bit.

Because, there is simply no way, for a complete stranger to take it all in, at once! So they bolt, and even though you have (either) a pop up (aka ) light box, to try and capture their all important contact information, for follow up purposes, or you have some type of opt in form in one of the upper corners of your blog.

Your first time visitor is confused and over exposed, so they decide to get the heck out of there, and sadly, statistically speaking, 99% never return! Why you ask? Because the layout of your site is way too aggressive! visually speaking.

Think of it this way, your sitting in a room with seven well respected financial consultants, these men & women are the cream of the crop. But here’s the problem.

Their all aggressively speaking over one another! Which one will you ultimately decide to go with? Exactly! probably none! so all the effort it took for them to finally get you in that room is completely wasted! welcome to your typical online marketers main blog! Ouch!

2.) ) Strategy #two: next, let’s briefly talk about your all important free lead generating giveaway. here’s another really bad marketing mistake, that you see far too many otherwise savvy marketers make, with regards to their free lead generating offers!

Keep in mine, your first time visitor is quickly assessing whether or not, their going to stick around long enough to give your site a chance.

And since their still in the undecided camp. You decide to offer them a gazillion free  ebooks that you got from your guru. You know the old PLR (Private Label Rights) giveaway. That’s supposedly going to help you build your list really fast! Yea right!

The only thing it accomplishes is, convincing your still undecided (first time) visitor that they have no interest in downloading a gazillion more (pretty much worthless) ebooks, that their probably never going to read anyway, to their hard drive!

So they leave! Why, because you’re (so called) giving away is asking for way too serious of a time commitment on their part initially! And their not even sure if they want to subscribe yet!

You Improve Conversion Rates By Systematically Improving Your Perceived Value To Your Target Audience!

3.)  Strategy #  three: This last one tactic has to be addressed; because it might save some of you lots of time and money. Too many beginning online marketers think they can short cut (aka) fast track their way to success, simply by paying for traffic, via expensive methods like Pay Per Click (PPC) ad campaigns.

You’ve heard the phrase “Putting the cart before the horse”, right? A lot online newbie marketers pay to get their WordPress blog made.

Then, before they have a lick of original problem solving content or maybe have written or paid for a blog post or two, they pay to get traffic to a ghost town (very little original content) and they wonder why nobody’s sticking around very long or opting in?

Obviously, the real key to successfully benefiting from this third strategy is, get cracking on consistently producing valuable problem solving content for your niche audience!

okay, since you realize that you definitely need to have JV partners. Let’s quickly point out five things you should take into serious consideration, whenever you go looking for a business partner.

Five tell, tell signs, if you will that will (not only) help you spot really good (long term) potential JV partners, but how to avoid the  not so good ones as well.

But first, consider this train of thought. Have you ever met someone at a social function of some kind, like maybe your local Chamber of commerce meeting and or at a live industry conference of some kind etc.

Or maybe it was even at a real social event, like maybe at the last Super Bowl Sunday get together that you attended and or hosted.

Anyway, you meet someone their, and in 30 minutes or less, it’s obvious you two are kindred spirits, as it relates your approach to business.

And it’s obvious you two should (not only) be working together in some mutually beneficial capacity, but your respective networks should be properly exposed to each others ideas, enthusiasm and leadership qualities as well.

And of course the flip side is also true as well, (meaning) you can typically spot the not so good potential business partners, within the first 30-60 minutes of their conversation as well. And it’s these (rotten apples) that you definitely want to avoid.

With that said; let’s quickly run through a simple five point check list, that will help you identify, your potential JV partners.

Of course this is by no means intended to be a complete list, just a very good starting point.’

1.) Any time you spot a potential (or current) vendor that you personally like their approach to business and their extremely trustworthy and organized!

You’re sitting on a potential goldmine! Because they can most certainly guide you to a ton of other like minded dedicated small business owners and or service providers, that think just like you!

And their contacts could (literally) shave years off your (initial contact) curve!

2.) Any time you come across a vendor (small business ) owner and or service provider, that has a product or service that you know for a fact would be a perfect follow (back end) product or service for your valued customer/client base and you and this particular vendor have had (or currently) have a solid professional relationship.

The two of you have to explore networking (joint venturing) in some type of capacity, because, you assets each of you can strategically tap into! Literally for peanuts!

 The Right JV Partners Can And Will Dramatically Decrease Your Upfront Out Of Pocket Costs!

3.) If you spot a vendor that is consistently growing (perhaps) they’ve opened two more new locations (in the ) general area, within the last five years, and (again) you both are non competitive to each other, yet (at some point) in the the buying process, you both need the same customer.

My friend, part of the reason for their rapid expansion may be due to their extremely good relationship with their local banker(s!)

In which case, they may be able to personally introduce and or vouch for your company’s ability to expand, by you vendors banker extending you a temporary and or new (short term ) line of credit, with extremely flexible terms!

Because of your personal and professional relationship with the bankers client! That being the vendor!

4.) This next one is huge, so pay close attention here.

Sadly, tons of new (and even) fairly established businesses, may not be able to completely ride out the nagging recession! And may have  to do one of two things:

 A.) Either drastically reduce the size of their support staff, outside sales reps and or inside telephone support staff or just plan let some key valued accounts go etc.

B.) Or close their doors for good!

Not very good choices! However, if your there to help pick up some key accounts, or absorb some key sales staff until the business can get back on it’s feet or extend some key sales staff and or support staff etc.

Until they make it back, both your businesses can grow even faster, for a fraction of the traditional cost!

5.) And finally.. Any time you notice that one of your key vendors have under utilized assets, such as a strategically located warehouse, that currently have empty or unused newspaper and or local radio credits etc.

You’ve got the potential of an insanely profitable (long term) joint venture arrangement!

Let’s face it, unlike the deep pocketed corporate entities, you can’t simply authorize a gazillion dollars worth glitzy (do very little) image ads, and pound your message into the general public’s consciousness, can you? Nope!

So you need to find some creative (less traditional) proven ways to get more out of what you already have.

In case it’s not totally obvious, when it comes to effectively marketing (not to be confused with) with constantly trying (in vain) to sell something (anything) to your targeted audience.

And the reason for this is, it can demonstrate several critical sales/marketing strategies, that will help you be more successful, for less money!

1.) If your currently sell (random) advertising (meaning), as long as some vendor pays you money, they can advertise some legitimate (non controversial) product or service.

You need to make a giant mind shift right now! Stop accepting any type of advertisers and instead, only accept ads from specific vendors, that offer products and services that you (either) personally endorse), because you use them in your own business.

Or that you know your specific audience (needs) and will benefit from them! This subtle approach to marketing to your valued customer/client base, is perceived as far more exclusive.

And the fact that you “no longer” accept random ads, conveys to your audience that you value them so much, your no longer willing to simply bombard them with non related advertisements, simply to earn a few extra dollars here and there!

2.) Next, instead of allowing more expensive “solo ads”, instead (provided) of course you totally believe in the product or service and you personally use it, so you know first hand, it’s overall quality.

Become an affiliate, and then only “solo advertise” their product or service to your audience.

And by offering them (limited) exclusive periodic access to your targeted niche audience. You can probably negotiate a much higher affiliate commission percentage than normal.

Because (number one) their solo advertising with no up front out of pocket cost! And secondly, because their only compensating you, when they make an actual sale!

3.) Here’s the other thing, regarding marketing products and services (from an affiliate) sales rep perspective.

Don’t feature them in every issue! that’s another way of you delivering value to your audience!

Don’t Sacrifice Your Long Term Credibility For A Few Short Term Nickels And Dimes!

4.) Here’s another really powerful way to improve conversion rates. Whenever it’s feasible, offer (either) additional closed special training (and or) a series of training’s for your best customers and clients that purchase one of your more pricey affiliate products or services!

And throw in the fact, you (or your) business (also) personally uses and has benefited from the product or service and kaboom! You’ve got the makings of a potentially wildly successful marketing campaign!

5.) Are you familiar with the term “attrition?” It basically refers to how much lose you suffer (in this case) the overall lack of effectiveness of your outside advertisements, constantly bombarding your audiences eyeballs!

And sadly, even when you attempt to market  a really hot product or service, through your typical advertising methods (like classified or display ads etc.)

Your audience is simply immune to it, which means (sadly) attrition has set in!

Because you’ll miss out on a ton of real long term money  on the back end of your long term sales funnel!
