(And or) long tail keyword phrases in order to reach the holy grail of page rank.

Because demystifying, the all elusive, and constantly ever changing,Google keyword rank process.

And of course Google certainly doesn’t make this task any easier, because they constantly change their process (more affectionately) referred to as an algorithm. Conquering the Google keyword rank mountain is no easy or simple task.

Understanding The Difference Between Casual  Searches And Laser Targeted Traffic That Will Eventually Lead To Sales Is Critically Important!

The sad fact is (or maybe) it’s good news in disguise.  A staggeringly high percentage of your online competitors are completely clueless when it comes to effectively choosing or targeting that incredibly small pool of effective keywords.

And or long tail keyword phrases that will get your site(s) permanently super glued to the top of the search engines pages.

And at least 95% of your would be competitors don’t understand the basic difference between searches and traffic.

Here’s a crash course on these two vitally different, yet important terms.( FYI: These two generic definitions will help you classify the two basic type of online browsers.)

Effective Keyword Research Is Definitely A Must Do Component Of Online Marketing Success!

A.) Search = This generic term basically refers to any online visitor who types some (keyword) search term or terms into a search engines text box. For ex; if you were to type the term “chocolate cup cakes” into a search engine text box and click enter. At that point, technically speaking,  all you have so far is a search.

Meaning; the page you immediately come to, typically has ten free (organic) listings on the left side of the page and usually along the top left above the first free generic listing, and down the right hand side of the page are what’s referred to as sponsored or paid listings.

The sponsored ads (also) referred to as PPC (Pay Per Click) ad campaigns, are placed there by site owners who have agreed up front to pay whichever search engine they are listed on, a   certain amount each time an online visitor clicks on their link (listing), and arrives at their particular web page. ( Thus the term Pay Per Click.)

By the way, the actual  name of the page with both the paid and free (organic) listings on it, is technically referred to as a S.E.R.P. page, which stands for search engine results page.

A Handful Of The Most Popular Keywords Typically Equal The Most Targeted Traffic!

B.) Traffic = This generic term refers to what happens when the searcher actually clicks on a link (paid or free) preferably yours, and actually lands on your website.

So given the choice (always) choose targeted traffic over plain searches! Targeted traffic (may) or could eventually (hopefully) lead to sales!

Generic searches on the other hand, are just your all too typical online searcher browsing the web, clicking on links, sometimes the PPC (Pay Per Click) ones as well.

Basically, they cost you money, because although they click on your PPC link, not only do they (typically) not buy anything.

But they all too frequently will not join your opt in email follow up list either.Which means if they bolt from your site without buying on their very first visit, a staggering 99% of them will not be returning!

And let’s not forget your basic online marketing fundamentals, which says typically if 100 unique first time visitors lands on your site.

Usually, only one in every 100 will purchase anything on their very first visit. And that sales conversion ratio is basically pretty standard across the entire Internet and it also explains why so many online marketers starve!

Exploding The Big Myth About Ranking On Googles First Page! Why Just Being On The First Page Is Not Nearly Enough!

You’ve finally hit the mother lode of highly targeted traffic! Right?

Not so fast! Because what you’re about to discover next about Google keyword rank, might give you reason for alarm. Take a real eye opening look at the typical break down of the numbers regarding ranking on some major search engines first page.

If you do happen to rank first in the free organic section on Google or search engine X.

A.)This means (on average) your # one listing will typically be worth 42% of the total number of  actual clicks.

B.) The number two listings is typically worth 12% of the total number of actual clicks.

C.) The number three listings is typically worth  8% of the total number of actual number of clicks.

D.) The number four listing is typically worth 6% of the total number of actual clicks.

F.)  The number six  listing is typically worth 4% of the total number of actual clicks.

G.) And finally, the number seven listing is typically worth (just) 3% of the total number of actual clicks.

The Most Popular Keywords Traffic Is Concentrated In The Very First Few Organic Listings On Page One!

(FYI: Here’s the other really sad part; from the 8th listing on, through the rest of all the other pages combined, they receive the other 20% of the traffic! Meaning; the first seven listings on the first page receive a combined total of 80% of all traffic!)

Now let’s use some actual numbers to help crystallize these concepts. Let’s say a total 1,000 people (searchers), search the generic term “mountain bike.”

Even if you’re the number one site listed on Google for that generic term, the best you can expect on any given day is about 42% of those 1,000 searches to translate into real traffic to your site!

Effective Keyword Research Will Prevent You From Targeting Worthless Keywords!

(1,000 searches x .42% =420 click through-s. So your click through rate, ( CTR), is 420 actual visitors, who clicked through to your site. And that doesn’t mean that they’re going to buy anything or join your list! Just they actually clicked through to your site.

And you can use the same one thousand  searches and multiply the other percentages in order to arrive at the other respective totals.

And finally, according to research conducted by the creators of the “Market Samurai” paid keyword tool.

In any given “niche” a staggering 90% of all the keywords are basically worthless and a complete waste of your time trying to rank for, because they receive so little actual searches and therefore traffic.
