Creating opportunities  (Don’t Or Stop Letting Your Major Competitors Beat You To The Punch!)

Come closer fellow profit seeking entrepreneur. (Please keep in mine. Before or whenever you seriously consider at least testing any particular marketing, promoting. Or especially whenever you’re testing any type of potentially expensive, traditional advertising campaigns.

Always be sure you at least have a semi reasonable idea of “what” your ideal customers, total lifetime customer value metrics are. For your particular business and or service. So you avoid being or becoming financially upside down.

Consistently losing money on any and all of you on or offline advertising/promotional efforts. Makes consistently creating opportunities even harder. And far less likely. Don’t you agree?

So you definitely have a pretty good idea. What your ideal customer is worth. Especially over time. In this case let’s say your business is a fairly successful distributor of women’s fragrances.

And you currently sell, market, promote and traditionally advertise. Your popular women’s fragrances. But recently after closing studying your numbers.

You’ve concluded your cost per lead. Is simply off the charts. And showing virtually no signs of slowing down anytime soon. This being the case. You’re finally at least semi open to inexpensively testing various non traditional marketing/promotional strategies and tactics.

Here’s one which if done correctly and consistently. Can and probably will. Create a ton of viral, positive word of mouth and mouse buzz. And that’s always a good thing, right?

So imagine this. You or one of your major competitors. Forms a few strategic Joint Venture (JV) revenue sharing arrangements. With at a few of your areas top local, non franchised women’s hair or nail salons.

Top local women’s clothing and shoe stores. As well as top local daycare facilities. The obvious reason being. This is one place you know some of the local women will definitely be frequenting, correct? 😀

So you or your major competitors initially offer the owner(s) of these local businesses or services. A free 32 oz. bottle of fragrance of their choice.

They choose the fragrance they like best right? They start frequently wearing it. And lo and behold. They start constantly being asked, what’s the name of the fragrance. And where did they get it from. And “how” much does it cost, right? 😀

And suddenly you or your major competitors store. Starts frequently blowing up. With a ton of local first time customers, right?

This Is Why You Definitely Need Some Type Of Market Tested Process In Firmly In Place Before Hand!

Strictly for hypothetical marketing illustration purposes only. Suppose on one of the local hair or nail salons typically slowest days of the week. (If such a day actually exists. 😎

You or your major competitors at least inexpensively tested the following front end marketing strategies. You have one of your top female associates. Go to one of your top hair or nail salon JV (Joint Venture) partners shops.

Right when it opens. And have both the owner, if they’re also a stylist in their shop. As well as all of the stylist in the shop that day. You allow each of them to sample any fragrance of their choice.

So when their customers come in and sit in their chair. They not only have additional subject matter to speak about enthusiastically, right? But some of your top smelling fragrances will be constantly exposed to your ideal customers. For literally pennies on the dollar, correct? 😀
