Consider the case of two pretty similar mom & pop type of businesses or service providers. Even if they both have similar marketing or traditional advertising/promotional costs.
Doesn’t automatically or necessarily mean they’ll both be any good at systematically building customer loyalty, correct? For one thing. If one of them happens to specialize in spending a ton of money on outrageously expensive.
Not to mention dismally performing, traditional ad or promotional campaigns. While the other is only too happy to at least inexpensively a/B split test promotions.
And double down on what works. And stop doing what doesn’t. Those savings can and should be leveraged even more. Don’t you agree?

At least two free samples of their best selling fragrances. And whichever one they choose. The ladies then lightly spray the fragrance throughout both their showroom and women’s restrooms. 😎
This inexpensive marketing exposure will definitely start some potentially valuable conversations. Don’t you agree?
And with enough ongoing positive word of mouth buzz. You or your major competitors can successfully negotiate a mutually beneficial arrangement. Where every female customer who spends at least X. They automatically get an extremely time sensitive discount coupon.
Which allows them to purchase you or your major competitors 32 oz. sample at either 10 or X% off the current retail price.
Always Be On The Lookout For Some Strategic List Building Opportunities!
However, simply for joining you or you or your major competitors opt in email list. And for dragging a friend with back to the clothing or shoe store. Both they and their guest automatically save 10 to X% off their very next purchase.
Up to $1,000 or X amount of dollars. (Provided their guests joins at least one of the retailers list.) If for whatever reasons, their guest doesn’t want to join the women fragrance distributor or the retailers list.
They only save the lowest percentage. And every week. The 1st X number of women or men customers. (Who happen to be shopping for those special ladies in their life. :-D)
Who spend at least $1,000 dollars or X. They automatically get an extremely time sensitive discount coupon. Where they can either come alone. And save 10 or X% off the current retail price of whatever fragrance(s) of their choice.
However, simply for dragging a friend with them. Whose at least 18. Before the expiration date expires worthless. They get a free 64 oz. mid level fragrance of their choice.
And you know what type of positive word of mouth and mouse marketing buzz this type of marketing strategy will create.
Look For Ways To Help Other Non Directly Competing Vendors! (So You Can Ultimately Help Yourself!)
This brain dead simple strategy will definitely help build those retailers inexpensively build their brand. And you or your major competitors will not only inexpensively gain new customers.
But by extension you’ll generate additional referrals, (for literally pennies on the dollar!) Testimonials and long term repeat customers. This is what makes building customer loyalty so potentially profitable. Any questions?
