(That Will Definitely Go Viral!)
So given the choice entrepreneur. Are you more into consistently writing checks in order to try and scale your ad results? Or would or do you prefer to consistently implement a proven word of mouth marketing strategy?
Which you and or your major competitors can and definitely should inexpensively test, tweak and systematically move forward with. Because for the most part. Your major competitors pay a fortune for some outrageously expensive, (albeit) traditional ad or promotional campaign.
And when it (for the most part!) falls bank account draining flat. (Time after time.) They’re pretty much stuck and deeply frustrated. Not having a realistic clue on “how to” correct things.
Does this sound like the type of position you’d like to be in?
So Why Not Take The Time And Effort To Start Developing Some Type Of Reliable Multiple Streams Of Income Producing Strategies And Tactics?
Say strictly for hypothetical marketing illustration purposes only. You have a local mm & pop corner store.
Which means your margins are definitely razor thin to begin with, correct? Facing this and other undeniable realities. Sadly your typical semi cash strapped mom & pop entrepreneur mistakenly concludes it’s best to try and continue to fight the economic reality and try and swim against the tide.
And because they have neither the financial resources, nor the much needed real world marketing know how to really make a go of things.
They temporarily struggle themselves incredibly close to. Or they ultimately end up taking some form of the dreaded bankruptcy route.
The business or service unwinds. And locals lose their full or part time jobs altogether. Truth told by having a much deeper understanding and therefore appreciation of some proven (albeit!) basic marketing strategies and tactics.
Like total lifetime customer value metrics. Or strategically implementing strategies and tactics which ultimately lead you and or your major competitors to an extremely profitable back end income stream.
Sadly most mom & pop business owners or service providers. Basically know very little about proactive marketing or promoting. And as soon as the local economy takes a slight or semi prolonged dip. They immediately experience far reaching cash flow problems. Sound all too frighteningly familiar?
So What If You And Or Your Major Competitors Strategically Turned A Temporary Recession Into Long Term Profit Producing Opportunity!
How you so skeptically ask? By first recognizing the previously untapped marketing/promotional opportunity exists. Case in point.
Let’s say during the summer for any number of reasons your daily foot traffic is down. However, you and or your major competitors could pick out a popular commodity. And for one to X number of weeks sell it for either:
A.) Your actual hard cost so you get immediate access to all of the semi predictable back end sales.
B.) Sell it at 10 to X% above your actual hard cost.
C.) Strategically tie the long term savings to any particular sandwich, a gallon of gas, coffee, bagels or whatever. And test allowing your customers to spend over $20 or X amount of dollars.
You Can And Definitely Should Get Creative With The Investment Of Your Marketing Or Ad Dollars! (Because Systematically Improving Your Bottom Line Is Definitely Worth It!)
And for the next x number of days or weeks they get to buy X at your actual hard cost or just above it. Say for example.
Spend at least $20 dollars. And get an extremely time sensitive (old school) punch card. Which allows you to buy gas or slices of pizza or an Xtra large cup of coffee at a set price.
The locals love a deal which consistently saves them money. Even a temporary one. And they’ll at least temporarily flood you or your major competitors store. And while they’re there.
They’ll buy other products at or near your regular prices. This is “how” and where you and or your major competitors must systematically develop some type of reliable back end income producing strategy.
So what’s it gonna be entrepreneur? Keep writing outrageously big checks and hope for the best. Or start developing some type of market tested word of mouth marketing strategy?
