As you previously discovered in part one of this series about common sense small business marketing ideas. Unfortunately, in far too many cases, when it comes to skillfully and consistently applying, proven effective low cost high powered common sense marketing strategies, to their small business and or service.

Far too many otherwise savvy entrepreneurs, throw common sense out the window and instead seem drawn to the sort of lottery approach to strategically marketing their business, products or services.

Meaning- they tend to rely more on luck (or chance) if you will, as opposed to developing the necessary (long term) skills needed to be successful over time.

Common Sense Small Business Marketing Ideas Shouldn’t Be Replaced Or Overlooked!

Granted, the follow three proven (low cost) marketing suggestions, may seem logical and a given as you read them, but if that were truly the case, then far more cash poor, struggling small business owners and or service providers, would be far more successful and less stressed out!

1.) Common sense marketing suggestion # one: Make sure you know (typically) what medium your target audience responds best to? Meaning- why send them a postcard if they are more likely to respond positively to a highly targeted text message! or vice versa.

Which basically means (entrepreneur) you’ve got to truly know and understand your customers and clients, in order to better serve them and bullet proof yourself, as much as possible from the constant onslaught of current and competition!

2.) Common sense marketing suggestion # two: have you bothered to pre test and or use a much smaller segment of (either) your in house list and or a smaller segment of the general market first, before you plow full speed ahead with an all out potentially expensive marketing/ad campaign etc.

Because if you had, you would have probably discovered, for a whole lot less, time, money and effort, that you had a potential dud on your hands!

3.) Common sense marketing suggestion # three: When was the last time you became your customer? Ever have someone you know, go through your buying process? Ever try ordering via your own website/blog, so you can get a birds eye view of exactly what’s taken place!

You really should order by phone ( or have someone) whose opinion you trust do so, and see how your call really gets handled! See how long potential customers are left o hold and treated etc!

2.) Proven website design suggestion # two: Make sure you include your actual physical location in (either) the bottom or footer of every page on your site. This way, no matter which page a visitor land on, they have your physical address.And your contact information too!

3.) Proven website design suggestion # three: Make sure you take advantage of any free local listing services, like Google.com/places. That way, whenever a local search is done for your type of business.
