How to promote your business on a shoestring budget! Part two

(And Literally Blow Your Major Competitors Away!)

As you previously discovered in part one of these series about how to promote your business on a shoestring budget, when it comes to effecting promoting your business, product or service, and you’re a struggling cash starved small business owner and or service provider.

Unless you have extremely deep pockets to buy tons of tons of traditional advertising, you’ve literally have little or choice, you simply have to get creative or go out of business. Not much of an alternative is it.

Because if you can’t effectively compete with the big corporate girls & boys, then you need to find other viable low cost creative ways to reach your specific target market.

How To Promote Your Business Just Like The Big Boys And Girls Do!

(Only Without The Big Time Traditional Expenses To  Go With It!)

As you discovered in part one; you can be truly effective with low cost high powered ‘cross promoting’ strategies. Case in point; if both you and your cross promoters have decent website traffic, you should seriously consider doing comparable banner ad swaps.

And whichever one of you clearly has the smaller audience consistently visiting one of your sites, why not offer your larger cross promoter(s) either a larger ad to be displayed on your site.

Or a combination strategy that involves (both) displaying their larger banner ad on your site and offline (if you) have a storefront, agree to set up a periodic display in your store, that promotes their free drawing!

Think about the overall long term effects of this incredibly powerful (underutilized) strategy.

1.) First of all; if their main site ranks extremely well (according to) alexa dot com, then you should seriously consider implementing

the a fore mentioned strategy asap. Here’s why, by back linking to their site, then will invariably help your site in Googles eyes.

2.) Next, to really sweeten the pot, you could also actively recruit other local offline small business owners (that are non competing) with your major cross promoter, and

arrange to get their periodic free drawing  display set up in their stores as well.

As long as your major cross promoter (s) agrees (in writing) if you feel it necessary, that they will periodically display the non competing  small business owners smaller market tested banner ads periodically on their high traffic blogs etc.

How To Promote Your Business Effectively Using Social Media!

The other way you can effectively leverage your larger cross promoter, is by actively recruiting an army of local non competing small business owners and service providers, and agree to mention them on twitter and give them a heads up on your FB fan pages!

They should love all the positive exposure! And this is how to promote your business, more effectively as well, because the two of you (and or) the other non competing local small business owners and or service providers, can and should be actively participating in email ad swaps.

The moment you all have at least 200 opt in email subscribers or more, you should be periodically sending email offers (like special VIP) new customer only discount coupons to each other lists (ad swaps.)

This is low cost high powered small business marketing 101, at it’s best. And boy is it effective! Hopefully, now you shouldn’t be wondering how to promote your business on a shoestring budget?
