This Is Why Your Winery Business Will Probably Benefit From Some Common Sense Marketing Strategies!

Most of you probably already know or at least partially heard of social media marketing and PR expert (the one and only!) Gary V, (Vaynerchuk, correct? Since arriving online he’s blazed an extremely profitable trail like very few of the rest of us mere mortals have, agreed?

Gary recently revealed on one of his extremely high viewed videos. How immediately after graduating college. He basically stepped into a major role in running the family winery business. And not having access to a huge advertising or promotional budget. (Or being very sophisticated at that particular time in his budding entrepreneurial career.)

He had to rely heavily on some common sense marketing strategies and tactics. And basically through a ton of trial and error. And accessing other on and offline marketing/advertising experts.

He not only maintained but ultimately grew the family’s brand and business into what is today. So let’s have a closer look at these so called common sense marketing strategies and tactics. And “discover” how a winery owner could start out right now, with similar traditional budget limitations. And still make a go of it.

Growing Your Business Or Service Is Like Growing A Plant! (It Definitely Takes Time And Consistent Effort!)

Gary V readily admits fresh out of college. (I’m not sure what subject he earned his degree in.) He readily acknowledges he literally had no previous experience of any kind with any type of traditional or non traditional marketing, advertising or promotional concepts.

In fact he says one of his very first attempts at any type of so called guerilla marketing strategies. (Because in those early days of him being in charge money was definitely tight.) So he had 100 or so coupons about the quarter of a standard flyer printed up.

And left the other employees temporarily in charge. And immediately headed off to a popular local mall in his immediate area.

And managed to place his 20% off discount coupons under the windshield wipers of enough cars without drawing unwanted attention to himself. Of course fast forward to today.

And Gary V is now not only an accomplished mega best selling author and much sought after keynote speaker. And successful owner of a thriving social media marketing agency. Which as of the publishing of this blog post, reportedly has 1,000 employees and or associates.

Plus he also routinely hosts his incredibly popular live summits. Which both successful and aspiring entrepreneurs from literally all over the world attend.

But this will definitely not be the case for a staggering 98% of the aspiring winery or small retail winery business owners, right? So let’s focus on the 98% and not the two percent. Make sense?

So What Type Of Potentially Profitable Marketing Campaigns Should An Up And Coming Retail Wine Seller Initially Focus On?

So first of all. Let’s suppose you were to model at least part of Gary V’s first attempt at some low cost guerilla marketing style tactics. Say what? Meaning, what if you also printed at least 100 or X number of first time customer discount coupons. Which for an extremely limited time, they can save at least 10 or X% off any purchases up to $150 or X amount of dollars.

(Meaning some strategic A/B split testing should which price points consistently produce the best long term results.)

However, simply for dragging a friend with them whose at least 18 before the ten or X day expiration date expires. And provided they also join your opt in email list. They automatically save 25% off up to $500 or X amount of dollars.

And as long as their guest also joins your opt in email list before they leave the store. But here’s the next mega proven marketing twist. You or one of your major competitors will allow one of your top cross promotional or top JV (Joint Venture) partners to piggyback one of their very best, market tested offers on the back side of your discount coupon. Say what?

And offer your retail wine buying customers X% off their products or services. With basically the exact same offer. Meaning they save one low rate if they come alone. But save a higher rate simply for dragging a friend with them whose at least 18.

And Don’t Forget To Systematically Leverage Your Current And Future Assets And Resources!

But going forward. Entrepreneur don’t forget or stop neglecting your current and future suppliers, vendors or VIP customers. Who by extension have extremely valued employees, vendors, suppliers and highly influential VIP customers of their own. Do they not?

Who can and definitely will help spread the word about you or your major competitors brand both on and offline.

And you or your major competitors could literally tap into these well established relationships for a song. You might also allow one of your top JV or cross promotional partners, who have a pretty active social media presence. (Especially if they currently have at least 100 local followers or more.

You or your major competitors could have them set up a make shift booth in your store or stores initially once a month. In order inexpensively test the concept.

And they do Facebook Lives in your store and invite their local followers to not only come to your store, but drag a friend with them whose at least 18, before your store closes that particular day.

And also direct them to your special lead capture page. And allow their local followers, plus their guests to save X% off before they leave you or your major competitors store that day. (Provided they join your list.)

And this is just the bare bones minimum of the proverbial marketing iceberg. Don’t you agree? Entrepreneur this is “why” your retail winery business will probably benefit from some common sense marketing strategies and tactics. Don’t you agree?
