Entrepreneur Would You Rather Market Your Business Or Service? (Or Advertise It!)

So who do you know and respect in business whose recently run some paid ads? Regardless of whether it’s on or offline. Entrepreneur if you’re currently running any type of Facebook or Google PPC (Pay Per Click) ad campaigns.

Have you noticed “how” outrageously expensive they’ve gotten over the last year alone? In fact if you recall when the pandemic first originally hit. Facebook was one of the first major online advertisers to dramatically lower their advertising rates across the board. Remember?

Primarily because a ton of their most reliable advertisers stopped or dramatically reduced their ad budgets. So Facebook and others strategically used their lower ad rates to attract a ton of new ad revenue. Which attracted a ton of first time newbie online marketers.

But fast forward a year or so later. And not only has Facebook along with a gazillion other major online advertising mediums recovered their temporary ad revenue losses. But with their dramatic increase in their rates. They’re now well back into major gross front end profits.

But the $64,000 dollar question begs asking. Would you rather market your business or service? Or advertise it.

Case in point. Have or are you currently using youtube as a potential marketing tool or asset? And by utilizing youtube. I’m asking if you have or are you currently using any paid youtube ad campaigns?

Take a look at one of my youtbe videos below. To date (for whatever reasons) it’s still my all time most viewed video. In fact it has more total views than a staggering 95% of all my other videos combined.

But here’s the thing entrepreneur. “What” if you or I actually paid fifty cents or a dollar per click. In that case you or my follow up sales process had better be consistently converting a certain percentage of those eyeballs. Otherwise you and I like a gazillion other profit seeking entrepreneurs will ultimately end up -upside down, right?

Let’s quickly do some eye opening math so you get a much better and realistic idea of “how” potentially expensive paid ad campaigns can be or quickly become.

To date 68,915 eyeballs have watched my entire video. Even “if’ my PPC ad campaign cost fifty cents per click. (I’ll let you do the math.) 68,915 x .50 = a staggering $34,457.50.

Entrepreneur for that kind of long term investment, you better be consistently converting some of those eyeballs. Don’t you agree? On the other hand. What if you appear as a guest on a podcast like I did. (Leafy Podcast.) and one of their Atlanta affiliates has a mere 500,000 subscribers. Say what?

And unlike your paid ad campaign. You or your major competitors guest podcast episode gets archived, so future eyeballs also get to listen to it. As long as the podcast remains active. And at no additional cost to you whatsoever. (Is that a cool deal or what?)

And if you are using social media in general and youtube in particular. Make sure your videos include a market tested (CTA) “Call To Action” Say what? In other words make darn sure you direct your audience to take whatever specific action(s) you want them to take next.

And If You Are Gonna Invest Money On Some Type Of Advertising! (See If You Can Direct Your Advertising Dollars To Work For Not Against You!)

Say for example. Some of you are already familiar with the elite status establishing  Chase “Sapphire” Preferred credit card, correct? Notice the extremely marketing savvy approach Chase takes with it’s ideal prospects.

They ethically bribe their ideal prospects with a ton of bonus points for spending X. Currently it’s something like 100,000 bonus points on $4,000 dollars of eligible purchases within the first 90 days of opening their account. You can read up on it to get all the particulars about the many benefits.

But here’s the main point ladies & gentlemen. Even though in some select situations, they may waive their annual $95 dollar a year fee. Every time the card gets used. You pay anywhere from 1-3%.

And since the holders of this particular card will be constantly using it to make various types of major purchases. It should be obvious it won’t take very long to not only recover their upfront costs.

But quickly get into profit on the initial front end the longer and more often the card is used. So once again the $64,000 dollar question begs asking entrepreneur. Do you prefer to market your business or service? Or advertise it.
