So do you know anyone, (friends, family or co-worker) in -law or whatever. Whose an avid fisherman? Meaning not only do they have the latest this and that. Both on or offline. They have both free and paid subscriptions to some of the top. Or the top rated fishing related publications.
And they’re definitely on three or four lists. So they can keep up with the latest cutting edge breakthroughs. When it comes to fishing. In fact. Whenever they get the chance. Whether they currently run their own business or currently work full or part time somewhere else.
The moment they get the chance. They pack things up and head off. Often with extremely close friends, co-workers, neighbors, relatives or in- laws etc. And make a weekend out of trying to reel in some big ones, right? For sure.
So the $64,000 dollar question begs asking. Right? What “if’ anything is the connection between some really good fishing and successful direct marketing strategies and tactics? So glad you asked. Turn the page and see for yourself…
So What Are Some Examples Of Direct Marketing You Ask?
Fair enough. For these specific examples. Think of any of the following. Provided they’re used strategically. Entrepreneur you could and definitely should be thinking about some extremely time sensitive discount coupons. Two and one sided, market tested flyers you or your major competitors include in your in store customers bags.
Or the extremely time sensitive “bounce back” offers you include in either your or your top JV (Joint Venture) or cross promotion partners out going mail to their customers. Of courser your pre -written or unscheduled “broadcast” opt in email messages. Your own or guest podcast appearances. Your own or guest blog posts. And of course your Facebook live appearances or your local or national radio or TV appearances.
And any and every local or national speaking appearance(s) you have. Both now and going forward. just to name a few.
But Let’s Be Honest Any time You Can Reduce A Few Steps! (It Just Makes Things So Much easier To Accomplish Doesn’t It?)
case in point. Take a look at an email message I recently received. It’s from aspiring entrepreneur, turned podcast-er Pacifico Saldati. And the name of his podcast is “Law, The Universe And Everything.”
He found me by way of a paid subscription I currently have with podcastguests.com. It’s an increasingly popular directory. Where aspiring guest podcasters such as myself. Pay 9more like invest!0 in either their monthly or annual paid subscription.
And we’re listed along side other potential guest podcasters. Who are pro-actively looking for relevant shows to appear on as a guest. And for the potential host podcasters. The publication is free.
Does A Really Good Fisherman Only Rely On Having One Extremely Active Pole In The Water At All Times?
And neither should you. Of course you wanna laser focus your marketing/promotional energies and efforts. Which means you rely heavily on utilizing proven forms of potentially bank account filling marketing leverage.
Have a look at this recent email exchange with Pacifico. Now take a look at “how” many episodes his show has releases to date. Zero. Say what? So “why” all of the excitement on my part you ask? Actually there are three main reasons for my uncontrol able enthusiasm.
1.) First: A brand new podcast show host needs to continuously give at least 110% or more. To try and gain some forward moving visibility momentum. Right? For sure. Which means they have to constantly go the extra mile to? You name it?
Constantly book, new interesting guests. Stay on top of their social presence. And constantly promote the heck out of their show.

2.) Second: So as a potential guest. Whose also helping with the promoting of the show in general. But your scheduled guest appearance in particular. They’re more than open creatively at this incredibly early. Yet extremely critical stage in the shows overall development.
3.) Third: Can you honestly think of a more driven marketing force than a brand new podcast show host. Given the current odds. The average newbie podcaster, (sadly!) will silence their microphone by their fourth episode. Say what? nod your heads cadets. It’s true.
So if they have any shot of making it all. How they blast off out of the gate is critical. And “if’ you and I or your major competitors catch that initial marketing/promotional wave.
It can literally slingshot you and I to a ton of potential new guest podcasting or other entrepreneurial related marketing/promotional opportunities. For literally pennies on the dollar.
So just like an extremely savvy fisherman has more than one pole in the water at all times. In order to maximize their long term efforts. So to do extremely savvy direct marketing strategist. This approach definitely makes sense, right? Agreed.
