Understanding Small Business Seo Strategies Will Help You Dominate Your Competition!

The better you understand the following seven small business seo concepts, the easier it will be for you to leverage the enormous power of the Internet.

1.) Concept # one:Link Relevance: This very important term simply refers to whether the site (or sites) that are linking -pointing back- (primarily) to your home and or index page, the site that’s pointing back to yours, is actually relevant in some way to your site main overall subject matter.

In other words, if your site is about growing and nurturing organic fruit and vegetables, any sites that links (points back) to yours, should be some relevant to yours.

And the more relevant the search engine(s) sees the linking sites relevancy to yours.

The higher the links overall “link relevance” rating (score) will be. Link relevance is just one of many factors that the major search engines like Google take into account, when it comes to evaluating (either) a specific page and or your website in general.

Needless to say, when it comes to effective small business seo strategies, you want to pay strict attention to this issue. Even though in reality, you’ll probably have very little control over which sites decide to link (point back) to yours.

2.) Concept # two: Indexing: Basically, every page that gets published online gets “Indexed” by one of the major search engines.

Whether the site actually ranks for the those specific keywords is another matter altogether.

3.) Concept # three: Page Rank: The term “Page Rank” was originally developed by Google’s founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Standford University.

Basically, just to boil it all down, Page Rank refers to both the total number of links pointing to your site, and what Google and the other major search engines consider the overall quality of those links.

In other words, just because your site has 100 links pointing (back linking) to it, doesn’t automatically mean, your site will out rank another site that only has 53 back links pointing it.

Especially if 38 eight of those 53 back links are from what Google considers authority sites. For ex; sites like Microsoft or CNN etc.

Of course there’s a little more to it than that, but hopefully you get the basic idea.

Your Small Business Seo Strategies Definitely Do Matter!

4.) Concept # four: Deep linking: Very simply, the term “Deep Linking” just refers to any back link that points to a specific page on your (or anyone) else’s site. As opposed to simply linking to your sites home page (index page.)

5.) Concept # five: IP Diversity: Every device connected to the public Internet (world wide) has a unique number known as an IP (Internet Protocol) address.

Basically what the term “IP Diversity” pertains to is, a few years ago, some shady marketers would try and raise their search engine ranking by constantly back linking (pointing links) back to their site.

However, the search engines eventually figured out that those back links were all coming from the same IP address and not independent sources.

Basically, when it comes to effective “back linking”, your IP sources need to be diversified.

6.) Concept # six: Anchor Text: Basically the term “Anchor Text” refers to the visible clickable text (typically it’s a blue link), that you see on webpages.

That text tells the search engines what the overall main theme (subject matter) is of that particular page. Often one of the major SEO (Search Engine Optimization) mistakes you see lots of beginning online marketers make, is they’ll use terms like “click here or visit soon” etc.

Instead of using a specific keyword phrase, to tell the search engines what that particular page and or website is actually about.

7.) Concept # seven: Link Velocity: The term “link Velocity” refers to speed at which your site generates back links.

If the search engines determine that the links were created artificially, like through the use of some software.

Google and the other major search engines, may penalize (or worst case scenario) ban your site.
