So have you ever noticed, what great lengths, your typical, cash strapped and or resourced challenged, small business owners, and or service providers will actually go through, in order to stretch their advertising dollars and or promotional budget, to the max?

And even though this is a extremely wise thing to do, is it not?

However, on the flip side, (sadly), when it comes to correctly identifying and ultimately correcting, an all too common, constantly re-occurring misconception on their part.

The vast majority of them, continuously, and unwisely, fall into this certain mindset, which (unfortunately for them!) Does not allow them to recognize, a severely, and potentially fatal flaw in their current thinking!

And in far too many cases,by the time they recognize what’s truly happening, it’s a bit too late…

So What Exactly Is this All Too Common Mistake Far Too Many Aspiring Small Business Owners And Or Service Providers Constantly Make!

First of all, (right out of the gate), you definitely need to understand, this particular blog post, is not one of those, “Ten All Too Common Business Mistakes Aspiring Entrepreneurs Constantly Make!” type of posts!

But even if it was, this type of evergreen information, is definitely sorely needed. Instead,however, the primary focus, is on this sort of flawed perception, far too many, semi cash strapped small business owners, service providers, and or aspiring entrepreneurs, constantly have.

And if this particular misperception, is left unchecked, it can and most definitely will, negatively affect, the bottom line to your small business, service and or entrepreneurial journey to long term success.

Why It’s Definitely Beyond Critically Important Your Small Business And Or Service Has The Right Perspective!

Case in point, when it comes to properly defining, both your resources and or assets.

Sadly, far too many, aspiring entrepreneurs, service providers and or small business owners, seem to confuse the two.

And they think, their resources are actually their assets. When in reality, this is totally not the case at all! Huh?

For ex; have a look at the two recent screenshot images just below. They show you, how much my RSS feed. (Really Simple Syndication) feed has grown, over the last 60 days alone.

And it’s pretty darn impressive. 😀  See if you agree.

A Very Simple Mistake Savvy Small Business Owners Constantly Seem To Make!

Being An Entrepreneur Requires You To Be Able To Constantly Adjust Your Thinking And Or Perspective!

So to date, 2006 individuals, voluntarily signed up, (subscribed) to my RSS feed. Entrepreneur, this is a classic definition, of a resource but not necessarily an asset. Say what?

Think about it for just a second. By signing up for my (or your!) rss feed.

Whenever I, (or you), post any brand new, problem solving content of any kind, to our WordPress blogs, these subscribers, by signing up, have voluntarily asked to receive email “alert” notices.

Pretty cool, right? Absolutely! 😀  However, this is the only time, and or type of email message, they can and will receive, by being only an rss opt in subscriber.

Your Small Business Can Grow So Much Faster As You Start To Work On Not Just In Your Business!

On the other hand, lets suppose they are also, one of your opt in email/mobile subscribers. Provided of course, you’re currently using, a reputable, paid email service provider.

And you and or one of your top cross promotional and or joint venture (JV) partners, is hosting a webinar, and or some other extremely time sensitive event.

You can (and definitely should), send all of your subscribers, an unscheduled, “broadcast” email alert message, to make them aware of this extremely time sensitive event.

Unfortunately, you’re not able to make your rss feed subscribers aware of such an event, unless, you publish some sort of content to your blog, and mention and or link to it. 😀

Your Small Business And Or Service Needs To Focus Heavily On Acquiring Real Assets Not Just Utilizing Resources!

By contrast, (entrepreneur) your opt in subscriber base, (and or) your own personal, in house, offline database, (irregardless!) of it’s current size.

This is a true asset. Because you own it and therefore, can control it.

Where as, (hopefully!), you can see and are starting to appreciate, why your rss subscriber base, no matter, how large or small it is, is only a potential resource of some kind, for you and I to leverage.

Are you starting to appreciate the subtle, yet all too real differences, between real assets and or resources? 😀

And this all too common occurrence, is the major mistake, far too many aspiring small business owners, service providers, and or entrepreneurs, constantly make! Don’t you agree?
