You caught my eye with the golf topic Mark! I don’t get to the links nearly as often as I’d like to these days, but when I worked in travel our resort included a golf course and we not only had a tight relationship with them but also with a couple of the other courses on the island. The promotions you mention are great ideas, especially targeting a field like CPA firms. Another angle is promoting these deals for group incentives, and there are companies that specialize in that very thing.
For example, I remember one time playing in a foursome with three reps from a regional incentive house in California and by the end of the day they’d decided to include the golf lessons, and a fun night golf group event to create a special incentive for sales teams. These packages included hotel rooms, food, etc., so it turned out to be an extremely lucerative piece of business, but the best part was the incentive company was the one doing all the work to promote it to their clients. 🙂
