Professionals whether accountants, lawyers, chiropractors – whatever – should read this post.
Before the internet became a big thing I used to work with CPA’s (ie accountants). I’d help them run seminars for their clients and guests. The topic revolved around business growth strategies. I made sure I was one of the speakers of course! The other speaker was the accountant. He would give the audience great information on tax minimisation and efficient structuring etc. At the end of the workshop, we’d present a free ‘business growth’ consult offer on behalf of the CPA. Many people grabbed the offer.
The appointments were conducted in the accountants office. The result of all this was that the accountant invariably got more fee-based work, and I picked up some new marketing clients!
Fast forward from those days to now, and we have the extra firepower that the internet offers.
The hard part with all of these great ideas is getting conservative, change-resistant business owners to think outside the box and embrace them. If they can make the mental shift the question is no longer ‘will these ideas work?’. Instead, it will be something like ‘how will I handle all the extra work’?
