Five Simple Changes To Prevent Your Best Email Marketing Efforts From Failing!

Ladies & gentlemen, are you currently set up (correctly), to provide some of your best, future and or current prospects, customers, patients and or clients, with ongoing (pre -written), follow up email (drip)messages of any kind?

In other words, do you currently have a reliable, opt in email, (and or) mobile messaging list building process in place?

If not, “what” the heck are you still waiting for?

And “how”soon will it be, before you get with the program, and get your email marketing campaigns, up and going?

On the other hand, if you are currently building, and have any type of ongoing, email mail marketing campaign(s) in place.

You really better focus, (extremely) hard on your emails overall deliver ability rates, because if they aren’t very good, your entire email marketing branch of your business, is definitely about to implode!

And since nobody (in their) right mind wants that outcome, correct? It’s best you focus heavily, on the following five extremely simple changes, that will definitely help prevent, some of your very best ongoing email marketing campaigns from failing!

So What Are These Five Incredibly Simple Changes That Will Definitely Help Prevent Some Of Your Very Best Email Marketing Efforts From Failing?

 (Over And Over Again!)

First of all, it’s really no secret, that far too many, extremely cash strapped small business owners, and or service providers, are constantly burning through, (literally) tons of their extremely scarce cash, correct?

And even those that are savvy enough, to adopt and strategically use some form of proven email marketing, (my friend) word to the wise, unless you, (or someone) within your organization, that you designate, pays close attention, to your email marketing’s “deliver ability” rates, and take immediate, proactive steps, to ensure you stay on track.

Entrepreneur, you will have gone to great lengths , and spent your hard earned money, (not to mention), expended a ton of energy, putting an extremely flawed process in place, that will ultimately lead to eventual frustration and complete failure!

So let’s not go there, and quickly outline, five incredibly simple changes, that will definitely help prevent your current, (or future) email marketing efforts from costing you both time and eventually money!Sound like a plan?

These Five Proven Email Marketing Tips Will Definitely Help Improve Your Overall Email Marketing Results!

Ladies & gentlemen, (and fellow) entrepreneurs, basically all five of these “battlefield tested” email marketing tips all inter lap just a bit, here and there. But each tip also stands on their own as well.

So it’s best to keep that in mine, as you contemplate, “how to” effectively incorporate them, into your current, short and long term email marketing plans and or strategies.

1.) Simple email fix # one: Entrepreneur, (believe it) or not, one of the “biggest” reasons “why” your overall bounce rates are so high.

Which can ultimately negatively affect your overall email’s deliver ability rates, is each time a potential subscriber, misspells, (either) their domain name, or misspells their own name, do to a (an too) common typo error!

And that’s “why” you are highly encouraged to use the “opt in”email feature, with your paid email mail service provider, that way any type of miss spelling typos, of either their domain name and or personal  name, will not be confirmed!

Make Sure Your Resourced Challenged Small Business And Or Service Has All The State Of The Art Tools You Need In Order To Be Successful!

And therefore that bad email address will never receive any email messages, that continually bounce.

Another extremely valid option, (provided) they will seamlessly interface with your current, (free or paid) email service provider, is to use (third party) email mail validation services like, BriteVerify or Datavalidation.

2.) Simple email fix # two: Entrepreneur, (like it) or not, here’s another “little known” email marketing tid bit, that rarely get’s publicly acknowledged by the big time gurus and or guruettes.

Unfortunately, just like in the offline (real) world, on average, about 30% (give or take), of your opt in email confirmed subscribers, will change their primary email address within 36 short months or less.

Email Marketing Isn’t Hard It’s Just Not As Brain Dead Simple As Some Would Have You Believe!

Which means, you may experience as much as a third of your email messages, suddenly “bouncing” and no longer being deliverable!

And if those dismal stats persist, (guess what?) Your overall email deliver- ability rates will definitely suffer!

That’s why you’ve definitely got to (periodically) clean/manually purge your list. Because “list hygiene” as it is affectionately referred to as, definitely helps prevent any major problems down the line.

Strategic Email Marketing Is Far More Than Simply Hitting The Publish Button!

3.) Simple email fix # three: Another all too common cause, of higher overall un-deliverable rates is, just like tenants periodically change their physical addresses in the offline world, (guess what?)

Online, sometimes old inactive emails addresses, get recycled, so that new owners get them, (who) it turns out, never actually subscribed to your list!Say what?  😀

And once they start receiving your, (in all likelihood) unwanted email mail messages.Your overall spam complaints may temporarily increase!

That is, until you’ve had a chance to do a little “list hygiene.”

4.) Simple email fix # four: Another, (all too) common and reoccurring problem, is with “what’s” affectionately referred to as  “dead email domains.”

Basically, some of those really popular companies, that provided free email services, to help build their initial data and customer bases. But for any host of reasons, they went out of business.

5.) Simple email fix # five: And finally, the other, far more direct way, to help keep your overall deliver ability rates up, is to “ask” yourself, the age old question, before, during and after you write any given email messages.

Which is, “does this particular email message, really add value to my subscribers lives?” If they do, your subscribers, (for the most part), will tend to (not only) look forward to your email messages, but open and read them far more often!Don’t you agree?

Whether You Currently Use A Paid Email Service Provider Or Not Make Sure Serving Your Customers And Or Clients Is Definitely Priority Number One!

  2. Another practical post here, Mark

I would say that the first 4 tips would come under the heading “Housekeeping’ But the 5th one is in a category all by itself – Messaging. And assuming that the housekeeping items get fixed, messaging is really where the rubber hits the road.

It starts with the subject line and then continues on into the body copy. Get it right, and responses will increase dramatically; get it wrong, well, people will turn off faster than a nun in a hostess bar.

So yeah, messaging is the critical ingredient. Not just in terms of emails but also in regards to every piece of content that potential customers will be exposed to.

    Thanks Mark

  3. Oh yeah, I am a BIG fan of the periodic list purge! I do take the time to send out a message letting people know before I drop them just in case and usually there are at least a few who come back and ask to stay connected. I actually have a pretty high open rate and I attribute that to how I deliver the weekly newsletter. Instead of just sending a link to the latest article(s) or a newsletter about different topics, the newsletter is an extension of my latest article. So the post contains the basics, and the newsletter goes into more detail with ‘how to’ advice and tips, and of course there’s always a dash of inspiration because you know how I love quotes. 🙂 Thanks for another spot on post Mark!

    • Thanks M!

And I can totally understand, both how and why your nurturing approach,
      would be extremely effective.

Because you mentioned, your emails are more of an extension to your
      awesome blog post content.

M, for some odd reason, far too aspiring business owner, but especially
newbie online marketers, simply aren’t willing to honestly try
and connect with their audience, potential customers, clients
      and or patients etc.

The exact same way they would, if they were corresponding with a really close friend and or associate etc.

I can readily see why your audience would especially look forward to even more
in depth insights and uplifting quotes etc.

Thanks for sharing some extremely keen and helpful insights, we can all definitely benefit
      from!
