You also discovered “how” an extremely savvy online ezine publisher and or a offline newspaper publisher, like one of the many local penny saver type of publications, could strategically use some of their lower to mid (entry level) advertising packages, to grow their long term profits.
And create some serious additional long term profits, by strategically taking advantage of several untapped marketing opportunities, that are readily available to them!
So “How” Can Today’s Extremely Savvy Entrepreneurs Profit From Some Of The Many Advantages Print Advertising Has To Offer Even In The Internet Marketing Frenzied Environment?
Actually there are a couple of really straight forward (initial) ways that an extremely savvy, offline (local) penny saver type of publication, can and should go about profiting (long term), from some of the many previously untapped, potential marketing opportunities,various forms of print advertising still offers, to those with the right marketing vision!
Case in point: the really good news is; no matter “what” shape your current local economy is in, (even in the bigger city areas mind you), you can always count on a few evergreen business/entrepreneurial activities going on, to some degree or the other!
1.) More than likely there is some form of adult education center that offers all types week day and or weekend type of classes/workshops on practically any and every subject you can name and or think of!Right?
Which also means,(you can also) count on there being at least a few of the instructors that aren’t exactly making a killing from these classes, and would be more than open to the opportunity to double and or even triple their current profitability, for the exact same effort, resources, time and money, that they are expending now! Would you not agree?
2.) The other thing you can readily count on (in some of the major cities), is at least once per month.There is some type of organized group of extremely talented individuals,that have formed some type of targeted association. Like (maybe) a business/entrepreneurial association of small business owners, and or a local real estate investment group etc.
So why doesn’t the penny saver publisher systematically approach some up and coming Accountants and one to three person Law Firms, that teach classes in the adult education center, that also specializes in working with small to mid sized business owners and or service providers, with 50 employees or less.
And “bank roll” the cost of both the room and all the printed materials for their classes,in exchange for the instructors giving each individual student, which in reality, more times than not, will be some type of current or soon to be small business owner.
And “if” the instructor(s) doesn’t have any type of back end income producing activity already in place, they can simply offer one of the penny savers low entry level classified and or mid level display (new first time customer only), discounted coupons to every student that takes their class.
And let the instructors keep 100% of the income generated by the sell of the coupons! )
And if the student(small business owner/service provider) takes advantage of the penny savers offer, and later upgrades to (either) a full blown quarter, half and or full page display ad, or if they decide to buy a monthly ad in their local business/service section, the penny saver will let them run the ads free, provided they get an extremely generous 20-40% of the gross profits, ongoing referral fee, from each student/business owner that decides to run an ad!
It’s Not A Coincidence That Some Of The Best Small Business Marketing Tips Involve Helping Other Extremely Savvy Entrepreneurs!
Here’s the other way the penny saver and or any of the other local , more business orientated publications, that routinely sell classified and display advertising packages, could potentially cash in big time.
They could make arrangements with some of the other local far more influential associations, that periodically sponsor those two to three day business expos type of events!
And every local vendor that buys a booth to display their products and services etc.
The penny saver and or local business publication, will donate three quarter page ads, for the price of two!Plus give them a new customer only 30% discount to boot!
And “if” it turns out their products or services are a hit with the readership!The publication will automatically do two additional things!
A.) First, within the next 60 days, they’ll run at a full page (spotlight) type of feature story on the local business! B.) And then, they’ll resort to their standard 20%-40% standard referral fee arrangement, in exchange for giving the business owner/service provider a free display ad of some kind!
Providing the business owner/service provider gives them a “mouth watering” video testimonial!Still mistakenly think, there aren’t some tremendous untapped marketing opportunities and possibilities and really cool advantages print advertising can and does offer, to those with the right marketing vision?

Never actually thought about print ads but you make good points. I think if I were to do print it would be in pennysaver type publications. I just feel like their more local and reach more people that could be potential customers. Probably because people go in there looking for stuff. It’s not like the newspaper where people read it for other things, like news or horoscopes.
