Hopefully, at this point in the process, nobodies arguing (with a straight face anyway  😎 ) that strategic and periodic follow up email marketing  of some  kind,is still a must for today’s savvy on or offline small business owner and or  service provider/ entrepreneur,correct?

That’s a relief.So it definitely stands to reason, effective business  email marketing, which BTW, still for those at the very top of the entrepreneurial food chain, is consistently returning totally outrageous (ROI’s)  Return On Investments of 43%!

Now personally, yours truly has yet to come even close to those type of numbers! 8  But that doesn’t mean you’ve got to measure your particular email marketing  results against “what” the big boys & girls do!

Not by a long shot!But it does give us a long range goal to constantly shoot for! But  don’t feel bad, if (to date) the best (ROI) you’ve been able to produce, is a mere 19.7%! 😎

You do understand that means, for every dollar you put out, you got $19 back! If you can keep up that pace entrepreneur, I can assure you, unless your total spending is way out of control, you are definitely gonna do alright!

But the flip side is this; unfortunately, there are at least seven extremely critical reasons (temporary obstacles if you will), that unless you learn “how to” effectively hurdle an or by pass them altogether! Your business email marketing campaigns are going to continue to totally miss the mark!

Hey before we dive in, ladies & gentlemen, please remember and consider this vitally important marketing cost inescapable reality!Practically all of the top, state of the art paid email service providers on the market today. Including the service I currently use!

All (generally speaking), (again with the rare exception of a few) they all raise the price of their monthly rate, the moment you initially go over your first 500 subscribers and again with you reach either 1,000 and or 2,500 etc!

But quickly contrast that increase in cost with having to pay for type setting and postage  to mail (even) 2,500 post cards four or five times a year!Or once a month!

Strategic follow up email marketing is still cheaper and far more effective! Generally speaking! Don’t you agree?That said; let’s quickly take a look at these seven extremely critical reasons “why” your business email marketing campaigns consistently keep missing the mark!

And “what” you can and must do right now in order to change it!

1.) Reason # one: Hey champ, just in case you didn’t know! Or maybe you haven’t been keeping up! But since (roughly) 2004- ish, give or take! Overall email mail open rates are down from about 40% to right around 10% and they’re still nose diving!

Now there’s lot’s of reasons for this!but for our purposes, just make sure you periodically clean your list, by trying as best you can to get the ones that haven’t opened an email in months, to simply voluntarily unsubscribe! So that (theoretically speaking), the only one’s left, are those that want to be on your list!

 2.) Reason # two: Rumor has it! That as much as 70-80% of all emails can possibly be marked as the dreaded spam! Which means your email marketing campaigns may not even be making it to your intended recipient’s inbox!Ouch!

All the more reason you better be using a reputable paid email service provider, with a proven overall deliver-ability rate of 97% or higher!

 3.) Reason # three: And you must know and acknowledge the fact that, because your valued subscribers are on multiple lists and receive tons of email messages daily!

That’s part of the reason every bodies overall open rates are way down! Generally speaking! Some email addresses they only check once or twice a week and or every other week! Hey, it’s just the way it is!

Just make sure your consistently sending quality “how to” problem solving content at least 80% of the time and you’ll continue to be golden in their eyes!

Effective Email Marketing Strategies Don’t Have To Be Complicated!

4.) Reason # four: And on their best day they’re merely quickly skimming your all important “subject lines”, which serve the exact purpose as your main (on or offline) power headline does!

So don’t write fro your perspective, make sure your “subject line” promises a big benefit to them! And they’ll start paying closer attention to your messages!

5.) Reason # five: Your all important click through rates (CTR”s) are suffering the exact same fate, because you’re not making your anchor text interesting and enticing enough!

Be very select about the words you use to hyper link your sales offer pages to!Or else your subscribers will open your emails and quickly skim them, but not click through to your offers!Which ultimately means no sales!

6.) Reason # six: Entrepreneur you gotta stop (asap) trying to sell your subscribers stuff! And instead help them solve their most pressing problems!

And when you do, you’ll notice a dramatic increase in your sales figures!

7.) Reason # seven: and “finally” entrepreneur, there is a very good reason “why” the good lord gave us two ears and one mouth! 😎 If you’l start do twice as much of one as you do in the other!

You’ll quickly discover exactly “what” it is, you’re suppose to be offering them, in terms of a marketable solution! There you have my friend! In no particular order mind you! But those seven critical reasons are (basically) “why” your well meaning business email marketing campaigns, consistently keep missing the mark!     What a great post. I am focusing on list building myself right now. I have a tendency to feel like I am bugging them if I send an extra email to them, when in reality, if they do not want to be there, they will unsubscribe.
