Three More Really Cool Reasons Why Your Business Definitely Needs To Be Using Email Marketing!

Three More Really Cool Reasons Why Your Business Definitely Needs To Be Using Email Marketing!

Ladies & gentlemen are you actually taking advantage of the use of  your email marketing opportunities at all? Now, not in the pie in the  sky  sort of way that you read about when some hot shot (hired gun)  copywriter is  pontificating about the (so called) wonders of email marketing.

(Hey, we’ve all fallen under that spell a time or two!)

Or what about when you’re watching one of those really slick video sales  letters, that land in our inboxes far too often, and put us in that temporary  coma and when all is said and done, we’ve just filled out another order page.

No this preferred form of marketing nurturing, is referring more to the fact that, if  whatever you did (and are) currently doing, is consistently getting first time  visitors- and or otherwise- to join your opt in email list.

Are you then systematically and strategically keeping (that all important)  conversation and open line of communication going with them?

Because (believe it or not), just the fact that you –consistently, honestly and openly communicate with your opt in subscribers, that in and of itself, when you diligently follow proven email marketing best practices, is a highly effective, efficient and proven form of inexpensive marketing.

And it can and will pay you rather  nice recurring dividends now just now, but in the not so distant future as well! Because remember, every subsequent email follow up message that you send to your list(s), doesn’t and shouldn’t just be for the immediate goal of generating some type of sale.

Your subscribers loved to be pampered and showered with extremely helpful tips, potential resources and proven advice  etc.

And that type of long term nurturing approach (over time of course), will yield a much bigger long term payoff, in many ways!

So What Are These Three More Really Cool Reasons Why Your Cash Starved Small Business Definitely Should Be Using  Email Marketing?

Now, without stepping (too hard)  on too many toes here! Let’s say you’re the all too typical cash challenged, but Atlantic sized ocean filled ambitious entrepreneurial type.

And you know or you’ve been told repeatedly by all the well know online gurus and guruette’s, that you’ve got to constantly be building your all important opt in email list (to some degree or) another.

But let’s say (strictly for the sake of example), that you’re currently torn between maybe going initially with a relatively inexpensive -offline- direct mail marketing campaign, via post cards. As opposed to setting up your paid autoresponder service, and adding your opt in box to your state of the art WordPress blog.

Here’s three more really cool reasons why, you definitely should be seriously be considering using (and or) adding opt in email marketing,to the mix. Whether you eventually end up using relatively inexpensive post cards or not!

Just Because Strategic Email Marketing Is Inexpensive Doesn’t Automatically Mean It’s An Ineffective Form Of Marketing!

First of all, let’s say that you teach complete newbies “how to” play the guitar. And you currently market (on and offline)  two DVD’s and an accompanying 17 page PDF instructional report. And you’re back end service is, that you also teach-private one on one lessons locally, and charge X per lesson or a little less than X, when they purchase and pre pay for multiple lessons up front.

And let’s also say that you buy (if this is even possible), an extremely small test demographic list of 100 addresses (mind you) of complete strangers, that at some point, initially got on some body else’s list somewhere, about wanting to learn “how to” play the guitar.

So you mail them your post card about your totally fabulous product. Now typically, you can (kind of sort of) expect about a 1% response rate from a completely cold list. So let’s say that’s the response rate your post card mailing produced. And as is also typically the case, that one percent response rate, is usually not quite enough to pay  for all the upfront cost incurred.

Your Average Small Business Owner Or Service Provider Can Generate Excellent Return On Investment Rates By Strategically Using Some Form Of Email Marketing!

And that’s when most small business owners and or service providers, abandon direct mail to total strangers and rush off looking for the next “push button” solution. However, let’s suppose that after several months of learning and implementing the various -proven- online marketing techniques and strategies, that you now have an opt in email list of (can you believe it) 100 subscribers.

Minus the nine that immediately unsubscribed as soon as they got your free opt in offer!Bummer! But hey, it’s just an ongoing part of the deal! You’ll live! Anyway, let’s suppose you send your 100 opt in email subscribers a broadcast email message, that has  links for both your two DVD set and your 17 page PDF special report and it also has a link for your upcoming private lessons schedule and prices etc.

And let’s say that 40% (or 40 subscribers) (40/100= .40), at least opened your email, (now that’s not proof they actually read it mind you! 😉 ) But at least, your subject line (aka (headline), at least momentarily caught their attention. Here’s three really cool (relatively) inexpensive ways that good old (time tested) email marketing, can and definitely will help you grow your business and increase your gross profits too!

Inexpensive And Strategic Email Marketing Helps You Pinpoint Your Most Likely Future Customers And  Or Clients!

1.) Reason # one: First, set’s say that 20 or half of your forty subscribers, clicked on link # one, that was promoting your two DVD’s and your accompanying 17 page PDF “how to” special report.

(We’ll delve more into these concepts in part two.) But  for now, here’s your thoughts. Why not send the remaining 20 subscribers that may not have actually bought something just yet, a further market tested inducement of some kind. Because at least they showed some sort of interest in possibly buying your DVD set at some point.

Makes sense right?

2.)  Reason # two: Next, let’s say that 10 of your 40 subscribers that (at least) opened your email, they only clicked on link # two, which (as you recall) is the link for your one on one local class schedule and pricing incentives etc.

Again, as an additional follow up to them, why bother sending them the exact same email, when they clearly indicated by only clicking on link # two, that (if) they have any interest at all, it’s potentially in your private lessons schedule and pricing etc.

(And at this time anyway, they currently have little or no interest in your two set DVD package.

Email Or Mobile Marketing Follow Up Campaigns Are An Effective To Strategy To keep Both Your Prospects And Customers Up To Date!

So a highly targeted additional follow up email message to them, with additional free inducement bonus discounts and other incentives etc. May very well lead to some eventual sales. Don’t you agree?

3.)  Reason # three: And finally: let’s say that the remaining 10 subscribers that at least opened your email message, they didn’t click on  either link! Hmm? Not sure why, but at least you can (and definitely) should segment all three categories of your subscribers and follow up with them, based on “how” they actually responded to your email messages.

That makes more sense than simply mailing the exact same (offline) post card to the remaining 99 that didn’t respond  in any way to your initial offline postcard mailing, right? This segmenting feature alone, is a major benefit of using one of the top paid autoresponder services. Don’t you agree?

And hopefully, you also see and agree “why” good old fashion email marketing, definitely needs to be an ongoing part of every serious marketers tool kit! Would you not agree?

  1. Hey Mark,

I definitely think email marketing is key. It’s a good way to keep in contact and develop a relationship with your prospective clients.

In some cases it’s the only way to keep them coming back. Otherwise they forget about you.

  2. Mark, old school is what my company and myself uses. I rather meet face to face a mixers each week. It has worked with powerful word of mouth movement. That is the best kind.

However, if I have something to share that makes my life enriched. My contacts via email gets the chance to try it or not. It is highly thought good. If I ever share it with each individual. I have never reverted to blast. I love the phone call and then send information via snail mail.

Growing slowly is wise? Yes, email is great to a certain level. I use it to build a profile of a new contact. Then, it is always perfered to speak with them in hangouts and phone. Then, press a button and send stuff via old snail mail. It is better to able one to touch, taste and feel. I keep a solid list worth millions.

Just starting out. I would suggest to learn everything about reverse email techniques. That is what works and keeps your hopper full.

Mark, amazing shares and I spend lots of time reading your articles. Do not reply to all at once. Do not want you to get flooded by me responses. Love your passion!

  3. Thanks for the detailed information on email marketing, especially to pinpoint the targeted customers. It is a fruitless deed to just shoot aimlessly as one comes up with nothing. But thanks for the great tips.

  4. Hey Mark, I couldn’t agree any more than building a list is one of the most important parts of Internet Marketing.

Actually, I think it should be one of the very first things everyone should do right after finishing installing their blog.

When people decide to not do it and the main reason is not money related, the second reason that follows is mostly because they think they have nothing important to send their subscribers.

In the beginning if people do not have a training or a freebie or anything at all, they can just send updates.

    Keep people on the loop.

We live in a world full of distractions and if people like you enough to trust you with their e-mail address, you have every right to send them whatever you think they could benefit from.

It may be a simple hello, a thank you video, a promotion for a new service that you just bought, it can be anything really.

I loved the case scenarios that you used here, particularly because I play guitar but I don’t have a training to sell on this topic although I do have a domain for that.

Great article man and thanks for the reminder since I don’t actually have an opt-in form on my blog right now (long and boring story).

Will fix that over this weekend though!

    • You’re most welcome Sergio!

And thank you for your extremely kind words of encouragement! They really mean a lot!

Anyway, I’m shocked, you of all people don’t have your lead generation process set up
      yet on that particular blog!LOL!

Because you definitely know the deal! BTW, do you actually teach “guitar lessons” offline?

Because that might make a really potentially lucrative back end service.

And one of your potentially offers could be, (if you haven’t already tested it),is offering
      various different levels of instruction.

For ex: you could and should segment your classes for, beginners, Intermediate and your more advanced students.

This way you can and should sell and offer upsell discounts if they pre pay for classes/lessons
      in more than one category!

All the best and continued success Sergio! Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing
      your extremely valuable thoughts!

Your positive feedback is always welcomed and valued man! And you’ll definitely being seeing more
comments from me over at your house going forward!
