How And Why Major Corporations Waste Tons Of Money On Totally Whack Advertisements!Part Three

Okay, as you recall in the last two installments about how and why some of the deep pocketed big buck major corporations can literally waste a proverbial fortune on some extremely questionable advertisements!

And we offered the example of the major hotel and casino chain that paid a fighter a cool $250,000 dollars to put a hand written stencil on his back. And by the middle of the third round, the name was barely legible!

But then we quickly shifted gears and offered a couple of extremely viable marketing alternatives, that initially involved far less money, in order to inexpensively test, tweak and monitor.

And of course, no one can know for sure, how well some particular technique and or strategy may or may not work.

But one things for sure, even under the worst case scenario, these failed strategies won’t cost anywhere near a quarter million dollars!

But they may in fact, add nicely to the hotel chains bottom line.

So the remainder of this post is an extension to last two strategies that were introduced in part two.

 Why Spend A Fortune On Wasteful Advertisements When A Little Strategic Marketing Will Do The Trick!

Just to quickly recap the two strategies that were laid out in part two. First, every cabby that gets one of their $100 VIP gambling coupons redeemed at the casino before the hand written expiration date expires.

The casino’s extremely savvy marketing department will issue that cabby a $20 dollar gas card! So in essence, the cabby receives a 20%, (non cash payment) referral credit of twenty percent, for every one hundred dollars worth of free gambling chips they help get distributed.

But here’s where the casino’s marketing department can put this particular strategy on steroids!

First, they will make all the participating cabby’s aware of their ongoing weekly top referral agents competition.

Each week, the top three referral agents will receive some really cool non cash payment prizes.

Creating Really Cool Competition Based Incentive Programs Definitely Helps The Cream Rise To The Top!

For instance; the top referral agent of the week automatically gets  double their current referral rate of 20%. Meaning, they’ll get 40% referral credit or $40 dollars worth of gas cards!

The second runner up will get an extra $10 dollars in gas card credits and number three gets an extra $5 dollars in gas card credits! Plus, for every cabby that wins the number one top spot more than once within the same 12 month calendar year, they automatically double their double!

So in other words, they get a gas card credit of $80 dollars worth of gas cards! (40% for finishing first during the week x two for finishing first more than once in the same calendar year = $80 dollars worth of gas card credits!)

And of course only the cream of the crop will rise to the task!

Once Again It’s Good Old Fashion Ethical Bribes To The Rescue!

Now for the next part of their strategy. In part two the casino’s extremely savvy marketing department  went and found some local vendors that catered primarily to women (because) the overwhelming statistics confirm, that by far most of the coin based slot machines are populated by women of all ages!

So they approached local vendors and allowed them to offer their free VIP $100 gambling gift certificates as free upsell bonuses, to the stores customers that spent a certain amount of money.

Now, they’ll also expand by approaching local upscale women’s hair salon owners and allow them to do the same thing with their $100 dollars worth of gambling coupon gift certificates.

So for ex; any customer that upsells from a standard wash, to wash, trim and nail package, valued at X! Guess what?

Who Really knows Perhaps You Really Are Only One Marketed Gift Certificate Away From Some Major Success!

They also get a hand written, time sensitive VIP  gift certificate that’s good for $100 dollars worth of chips at the casino.

Plus, once per month the casino’s marketing department will literally rent a really fancy tour bus for whichever hair salon owner gets the most gift certificates redeemed the month before and give the owner and all 15 of their VIP guests, $100 dollar gambling coupons, a voucher for a nice lunch valued at $15 dollars and one $20 dollar gas card each!

And they get to make a day of it at the casino, on the casino’s dime! That strategy should produce some serious on and offline, positive word of mouth buzz!
