Do you know anybody that really likes sports fishing? I’ve got several relatives that can’t seem to get enough of it! Personally, it’s not in my top ten things to do, but I digress.
As odd as it may sound on the surface; (believe it or not) there are at least three striking similarities between successful sport fishing and successfully marketing your business, product and or service.
In fact, if you were to bother to ask (consult) anyone you know that routinely and successfully enjoys this particular activity, you will probably be quite surprised at just how much what they do in successfully catching fish of all sizes, mirrors what you do (or should be doing) in your active pursuit of consistently generating new customers and or clients!
Three Striking Similarities Between Successful Sports Fishing And Successfully Marketing Your Business Product Or Service!
First off let’s be clear; most people that fish, do so primarily just for fun (sport!) so there is absolutely no pressure and or negative stress associated with doing it. On the other hand, when you’re under the gun trying to land that new customer or client!
Or desperately trying to maintain enough ongoing business in order to sustain your cash starved business! That’s something else altogether. Is it not? These three similarities, hopefully, will apply to your business making more money!
1.) Similarity # one: No matter ‘what” type of fish you’re trying to catch, be it blue gill, large mouth bass, catfish or trout etc. Whatever your poison, you definitely need to “know” what type of bait, your chosen fish or sport, positively responds to best!
The lesson: Entrepreneur; you’ve gotta invest some time trying to discover “what” specific benefit (bait) your target market responds to best!
2.) Similarity #two: Once you discover what specific benefit and or benefits (bait) that they respond to best. You need to take some time in order to discover “where” they’re most likely to hangout.
The lesson: Once you discover “what” major benefit and or benefits that your target market really craves! Now you need to speed some time discovering where they routinely hangout, on or offline.
3.) Similarity # three: Every now and again, you need to switch up your bait, in order to discover “if” there’s another type of bait (benefit) that your fish might respond more favorably to.
The lesson: Entrepreneur, never ever get to the point, that you stop periodically (inexpensively) testing, in order to discover if there just might be some other potential benefit and or incentive of some kind, that you can strategically use to generate more business for less!
While recreational sport fishing can lead to lots of fun on a social level, applying some of the proven fundamentals, just might lead to you making more money! Don’t you agree?
